Made a horrible choice to go with HealthNet via Covered California. I am a retiree who cannot afford COBRA. HealthNet of Long Beach (Signal Hill) has ineffective customer service. Poor communication unless you speak Spanish. Everything from their website to their online "options" is a joke. I was hounded to sign up for my plan provider which I am unable to do until HealthNet assigns me an ID number. No ID cards unless you request them. You cannot print temporary ID cards from their website, even though there is a link to doing so. The doctor I have had for eons is listed on the HealthNet website as a participating physician so I signed up for her. I find out from the doctors office that they have not been accepting HealthNet plans since last year so I am unable to see my physician. When I contact HealthNet about this, I am questioned like a criminal: "why didnt you confirm with your doctors office that they were still in the plan? Im sure your doctors office did not contact HealthNet to advise us of their decision to drop HealthNet coverage", etc. Zero attempt at helping me; you are to blame, not HealthNet. Even when I went back online to sign up for another provider (my doctors are still listed with HealthNet as a participating provider), you must check off on a reason why you are switching providers; all but one blames you, the member. Run, do not walk, away from HealthNet.

I was forced to leave my existing healthcare plan due to Covered California and ended up trying HealthNet. Upon transferring to HealthNet it has been problem after problem with getting any kind of care. All of the doctors I was assigned either do not practice with HealthNet or do not practice the advertised medicine listed on their website. The information listed on the website has been inaccurate every step of the way and any help from customer service is inept. This is one of the worst experiences I have had trying to get medical care. I cannot express in words how unsatisfactory this service is.

stay away from this company at all costs! so much red-tape and bureaucracy. my bad for choosing them for my heath insurance. The doctors that they use.... do not like them! what does that tell you?
