I took my beloved pet to Bell Veterinary Clinic in Oxford, MI 48371 in mid-Nov. as I knew that my pet was ill. I provided the entire staff with the possibilities of why my formerly extremely health pet might be ill, but I was told that I was incorrect. I wasnt. My baby had a diagnosis that was very easy to make, as I learned 10 days later when I took my pet away from Bell. A diagnosis was made almost immediately. Because for the preceding 10 long days my pet was misdiagnosed and incorrectly treated, by the time I took my pet elsewhere for a 2nd opinion, had I not intervened and took my baby elsewhere, it would likely have died a slow and painful death. During the preceding 10 days b4 I took my pet away from Bell, it had gone on to develop other medical issues because it had not been properly diagnosed and treated at Bell. What was wrong? As cautious as I try to be, my pet had managed to eat bright red sewing thread. It was wrapped around her tongue and extended down and was bound around her upper intestine causing perforations, peritonitis, anorexia, dehydration, a temp of 104.1 (when I took my pet elsewhere), gastroenteritis and underwent MAJOR abdominal surgery (I was there for almost 8 hours while my pet underwent surgery and then was placed in recovery.) While my pet would have required surgery, I most likely wouldnt have had to spend THOUSANDS of dollars for my baby to now be on its way to a full recovery. I SAW THE BRIGHT RED SEWING THREAD MYSELF! How could anyone, especially a vet, overlook bright red sewing thread wrapped around a pets tongue and extending down through into its upper intestine?! I questioned the staff at Bell repeatedly, and was told there was no string of any kind and the xray was negative. I repeatedly told the staff at Bell that I was hearing strange sounds from my pet and that when I palpated it, it seemed to be in discomfort, Bell denied that my pet was in discomfort. Obviously false. To make matters worse, I am a disabled senior citizen on a fixed income, yet Bell Veterinary Clinic refused to refund my over $400 that I spent there to be given an incorrect diagnosis and "supportive" treatment over 10 wasted days as my baby became more ill. I would NEVER let my pet anywhere near Bell Veterinary Clinic even if no other vet was open and I had to drive my pet all the way to Michigan State. Had I gone along with Dr. Richard Bells diagnosis, my pet might very well be dead by now. I would NEVER let that place near my pet again, not even to pet it. For 45 days my pet was recovering, relapsing, recovering, relapsing, FINALLY on the road to a full recovery. No thanks to Bell Veterinary Clinic in Oxford, MI who also fleeced a disabled senior out of over $400 and when politely requested, hasnt yet returned a dime of my money.

My first experience was bitter sweet. We had to go to Dr. Bell to have our dog put down from a tumor growing in her sinus cavity. Dr. Bell and his assistant were very empathetic and were very sweet to my mother and I. It was a sad day, but they took good care of us and our beloved Snickers. I miss you Snicky - Wicky. XOXO

Dr. Bell and staff are extremely welcoming and understand your pets needs. Dr. Bell takes the time to explain options and allows you to determine the course of action. He is very kind. My pets actually look forward to visiting the vet now. Thanks, Dr. Bell! :-)

Rude staff stop asking a million personal questions and sell me some flea chewables for my dog. No reason to collect such things for a simple over the counter sale. Also a 3.99% surcharge for non cash sales is very unprofessional.
