I gave this a 5/5 review as there was nothing that I can think of that was negative about this visit. It started from the very beginning when on the phone with the receptionist and booking my appointment. She was very friendly and helpful and proactive at letting me know that I will need to take extra steps when putting the address in my google maps to find the place (as there is address more north and google maps can get confused). I appreciate these types of proactive measures as it sets the tone for an office to be professional and accommodating. Once I arrived the office was clean and orderly and noticed they even had back massagers on their chairs! My exam was extremely thorough and cohesive. I have to admit I have never had an eye exam before so I wasn’t sure what to expect but I have to say I walked away from my exam learning a lot! I appreciated how thorough the exam was and that Dr. Bearden was happy to answer any questions I had. She was very upfront and honest and had a very pleasant personality. What really sealed the deal with me and made me so happy I chose this place was that Dr. Bearden took the time to look for frames with me. Again, I have never had an eye exam (always had great vision) and never did I think I would need glasses so I never even thought about. But for me what made me nervous is finding a pair that I would like to wear as I am very indecisive. She took the time to pick out frames with me and help me find just the right pair that I was actually excited about! Again, overall a great experience and I would highly recommend her practice to anyone!

My eye exam at Fort Lauderdale Eye Care and Eye Wear was an interesting experience to say the least. The first part of the exam was conducted by a girl who didn’t look any older than 16, asked me to read the charts, appeared nervous and looked like she was not sure of what she was doing. When Dr. Bearden finally saw me, I expressed my concerns, but she assured me her Assistant was well trained and went on with the exam. She was very professional, her exam was thorough, the equipment sophisticated. And, as if the price charged was not high enough, she went into the upselling part of the exam. She pushes her expensive products with whatever excuse possible to convince her patients that they need to buy them. In my case, she said I should buy a Lid Scrub in spray, and in travel pads, to keep my eyelashes clean!!! I know, I have only myself to blame for letting her convince me of this and buying that expensive crap. I should also give her credit for her selling skills that matched and even exceeded her skills as an Optometrist. And to top it off, her prices for frames and lenses were outrageous, not to mention limited in selection. Thank Goodness I didn’t fall for them. I ended up going to a regular eye glasses store and found a terrific pair of glasses, with a free Eye exam as a promotion. I took the exam since it was free, and guess what, the prescription was exactly the same as Dr. Bearden’s, but at a fraction of her price, Free!!! So don’t waste your hard earned dollars, don’t fall for unneeded expensive products, and just go to a regular eye glass store.

I was on a business trip and thought I had an eye infection. I saw an eye doc in Los Angeles who told me, "no, you dont have an infection, instead you have a serious eye disease that can make you go blind." That doc wrote me a prescription and told me I had to use it every day for the rest of my life. Obviously I was freaked out and made an appointment with Dr Bearden to confirm the LA diagnosis. Dr Bearden ran what I thought was a very thorough exam (she said it was pretty normal for her.) She was able to explain to me why the LA doctor came to the conclusion he did without the aid of the additional testing she did. She was also able to assure me I do not yet have the serious eye disease, but I am at risk for it. She set up a plan to monitor my progress and told me what to watch for. So worth the money to go here! BTW, I shes also big on protecting your eyes from the sun in FL. She educated me why my grocery store sunglasses werent protecting me as I thought they were. I didnt really have time to "shop" for sunglasses, but she brought 3 frames that "would work on my face," and shockingly they did. I got an amazing pair of sunglasses from her in minimal time. Go see Dr Bearden. Shes one of the few doctors I know that really spend the time with you to sort you out. You wont regret it.

I was experiencing a loss of vision clarity in addition to very painful, sensitive eyes. I went to Dr Bearden as her office was in possession of all my records from the previous doctor. I wasnt sure how it was going to go, but I was in pain and needed help. Once there, I was carefully screened, examined, tested, photographed, studied and then some! Once concluded, she explained to me what was going on, what caused it and what course of action she was going to take in order to heal my poor eyes. Its been a rough few weeks, my eyes were that bad, but they are now on the mend and getting better each day. My follow up visits are getting farther apart, and she is pleased with the progress. Dr. Bearden is the best. She is patient beyond belief, diligent in her treatment and follow up exams (as prescribed by the physician). Her staff is incredible and make going there like visting friends. You are welcomed warmly, offered an array of beverages, and shown the password for the free Wi-Fi! I have never had to wait to be seen, which sort of negates the free wi-fi. I have been and will continue to highly recommend the Doctor to whoever is in need of one, and am looking forward to a long patient/doctor relationship. I am just sorry I waited so long to get there!

Dr. Bearden is such a thorough and caring doctor, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for an eye exam. She is "in the know" about the latest products on the market, and I really appreciated that instead of letting her patients waste money on "old news" stuff, she presents things that are healthier, more efficient, more convenient options for people that wear contacts. She is very knowledgeable and explains everything in detail to help patients understand what is happening to their eyes. Basically, she is the best in town, and you would be doing your eyeballs a disservice to go anywhere else! You only have TWO eyes and they have to last your WHOLE LIFE. So go to Dr. Bearden and let her take care of them for you! Ever since I became pregnant and had my daughter, my eyes have been extremely dry, which I understand is common. Dr. Bearden recommended Dailies for me, and I LOVE them. I just pop them in every morning when I get out of bed, and throw them in the trash before I go to bed at night. When I wake up, I dont have that dry, crackly feeling anymore. My eyes always feel like they have nothing in them, whether I am wearing contacts or not! Dr. Bearden is amazing, and you will not regret going to see her!
