PLEASE READ BEFORE HAVING YOUR GALLBLADDER REMOVED! First I want to start off by saying I am not a doctor, but what Im suggesting, if you fit this criteria, it could change your life. For months, I had been experiencing pain in my right rib (off-center from my sternum) that shot straight through to the off-center of my back. I had multiple doctors suggest that it was my gallbladder causing the pain. I had an ultrasound that did not reveal any stones, however, I had a HIDA scan that revealed my gallbladder was only functioning at 17% (normal is around 35-40%). I also had an endoscopy that didnt reveal anything that could be causing this pain (not a hiatal hernia, no stomach ulcers, etc.). I was sent to a surgeon, who after several questions and an hour later, felt as though I did not fit the ROME criteria to have my gallbladder removed (thankfully!) and my surgery may only be 80% effective. First of all, my pain didnt seem to be brought on by food (fatty meals or large meals) as previously thought. Also, I did not feel any pain when having the HIDA scan done (which makes your gallbladder contract-hence likely causing pain if youre gallbladder is diseased/malfunctioning). The GI said she had never heard of a gallbladder improving, the surgeon said he had heard of it. But nevertheless, the surgeon sent me back to a different GI to have an endoscopic ultrasound done to rule out some other things. After speaking with this different GI for an hour answering various questions, he deemed that an endoscopic ultrasound wasnt necessary and that it was likely musculoskeletal. He suggested I eat acetaminophen and ibuprofen like its candy, and use a topical cream for the pain. At this point I was 4 months in to spending 75% of my week in pain. It was not pleasant, and I had given up hope since no one could tell me what was causing my pain. A couple people started suggesting that I see a chiropractor, and since I was at my wits end I took my coworkers suggestion to go see Dr. Bross who she raved about. Dr. Bross at my first visit found the spot in my back that when pressed with a certain amount of pressure immediately started cramping the front of my ribs. It pretty much confirmed that my problem was musculoskeletal. After working with him for two weeks now, and going into my third week, my pain is down to 10% of the week and getting better everyday. Dr. Bross and his associates are very personable and knowledgeable. Theyre focus isnt just on curing you of your current physical pain but also on your overall health and well-being, including stress management, digestive health, etc. I cannot be more pleased with the results I am seeing! On a separate note, I have not ignored the fact that my gallbladder is not functioning at its best, and therefore have taken strides to hopefully correct it (nutrition, weight loss, exercise). I suggest reading this book, "Save Your Gallbladder Naturally and What to Do If You Have Already Lost It" by Sandra Cabot and talking to your doctor, and then three or four other doctors. I was lucky enough to be referred to a surgeon who asked the appropriate questions and determined that some additional steps should be taken before proceeding with surgery. Not everyone can be so lucky. So seek additional opinions, and read that book before changing your digestive health forever.

This is a great place if youre looking to feel better physically. Ive been seeing Dr. Steve Knoyer at Elite since November 2016 to address a mysterious, stubborn forearm pain issue that I at first thought was muscle/tendon related but turned out to be more likely due to a nerve entrapment issue in my neck and/or arm. Throughout all of my sessions, he has been a very knowledgeable, open-minded, and patient(!) therapist with a positive, pleasant demeanor and a well-meaning, self-deprecating sense of humor. Dr. Steve started by treating my forearm with skilled use of active release therapy, soft tissue manipulation, and dry needling, which helped to alleviate the pain and discomfort. But I knew something was still "off" with my arm when I tried some of the physical therapy exercises because I could feel some low-level radiating sensations/numbness/tingling throughout my arm, forearm and thumb while doing the exercises. Dr. Steve listened to my feedback and wasted no time ordering an MRI on my neck area, which revealed a degenerative disc condition that was affecting the nerves. After reviewing the results, Dr. Steve immediately switched my therapy plan and has been focusing on using the same aforementioned techniques (along with neck manipulation) on my neck, shoulder, and arm, and I am happy to say that I am showing signs of progress as the numbness in my thumb has subsided quite a bit and the intensity and frequency of the tingling have lowered. Im still not "out of the woods" and have a little ways to go due to the severity of my condition, but I have confidence and trust in Dr. Steve to help me get through this with a full recovery. I can tell he has a genuine desire to see me get well as soon as possible and not have to return once Im 100 percent. Having had numerous injuries to different parts of my body and visiting other PT facilities over the years, I can pretty much tell when a PT or Chiro place is just trying to drain your money by BS-ing you to keep coming back for more, but I definitely dont get that sense with Dr. Steve and Elite. I appreciate the fact that he truly listened to me regarding how I was feeling physically and was willing to change things up accordingly instead of getting tunnel vision and trying to keep fitting a square peg into a round hole with my therapy. Hes a smart, well-rounded Doctor and I would recommend him without hesitation to any of my family and friends if they needed PT for any reason. Also, the admin staff (Casey) is really nice and friendly, and helped me solve an overbilling mystery that turned out to be someone at my insurance company who fat-fingered my account number incorrectly in the system.

My experience with Dr. Bross at Elite Chiropractic & Sport has been a blessing. In 1993 I pulled a groin muscle while performing with a local DC base dance company. Everyone on stage heard it pop and it was extremely painful then and up until a few weeks ago. Back then I was not educated on how to treat dance injuries. Through out the years, I lost mobility in my hip flexors, the scar tissue started to form and it became very painful. It even affected how my clothes fit, due to the size of the lump that was formed. I started to try different treatment options, nothing worked, I mean nothing! A few weeks ago I was surfing the internet on how to get rid of scar tissue and I ran across the Graston Technique. I then found Dr. Bross, not only is his office close to my home, but his credentials are outstanding. Ive only had three treatments with the Graston Tool and the size of the scar tissue lump has decreased 70%!! Amazing! He broke up the scar tissue with his hands and the Graston tool. It is painful but definitely worth it. Ive suffered with this pain since 1993 and in 2016 I finally found the solution, Dr. Bross!!! Oh, let me not forget to mention my appointment today (10/5/2015). It was supposed to have been for the scar tissue lump, but I told Dr. Bross about my constant sinus headaches. He asked me if I would like for him to treat it, I said sure!! Oh my goodness!!! It is gone!!! Who would have thought the muscles in your neck and head affects your sinuses? Thank you Dr Bross!!!
