Well, where to begin... My 5YR old daughter was bitten by a wild dog, on her face/lip, so brought her into the South Haven "Hospital" when she began throwing up nonstop, complained of fever/chills & starting going in & out of consciousness. Upon bringing her in, they had us wait, about 2 hours, because they "were too busy" to tend to what we think could very likely be rabies from this dog that bit her! Once she FINALLY got into see a Dr., well, Im not exactly sure any actual medical doctors are employed there. Saw a couple nurses, got a saline drip, but they didnt even attempt to clean the wounds! We began Googling for possible scenarios, other than rabies, and felt like we, from searching the web, knew more than anyone at this "hospital" did. After about 4 hours of still no actual treatment or seeing anyone with a title above "Nurse," we took our daughter to Holland Hospital, which is only about 20 minutes away & boy, like night & day...got her in, they immediately cleaned the wounds, at least 3x separate times, did numerous tests, gave a tetanus shot (oh yeah, that was another funny, but sad part of South Haven "Hospital." They could not even administer a tetanus shot when we requested one for her, as they "did not have a certified personnel onsite!), had an actual Medical Doctor see our daughter within minutes... So, long story short....if you need medical attention, SH "Hospital" is NOT the place for you. If youre bored, looking to kill some time, while someone you care about suffers, then enjoy their "facilities."

I was in the ER for a health issue and was very pleased with the care I received. The nurses were really nice and understanding, I got care in a timely fashion, and the Doctor (Dr. Westfall), was fabulous. He spent time explaining things to me and looked up some pictures on his phone so I could visually see what was going on in my body. He addressed all my concerns and included me in the decision making. He was kind and caring and made sure I felt comfortable with the plans. Ive seen lots of different doctors over the last 20 years due to chronic health issues, and this was one of the best experiences Ive had

Dont believe anything that the billings dept ever says, their systems as so screwed up that they have no idea what they are talking about and have double billed, not credited payments, sent bills over a year afterwards and mistakenly sent paid bills to collections. Also dont bother leaving a message for the customer service/billing dept after leaving over 20 messages I have yet to receive a callback, your only chance is to keep calling until you get them on the phone and when you do, dont let them go because even if they promise to call you back they most likely never will.

Clean, well taken care of hospital. In general the nursing staff was attentive and professional. Dr. Makande is hands-down one of the most genuine and professional, knowledgeable and caring physician from whom I have ever received medical attention. I thank them all for providing me with care and quick, efficient medical treatment. I was on vacation in South Haven when I became ill unexpectedly and I cannot say enough good things about this hospital.

I wouldnt even give them a star if that was possible worst hospital ever the ladies at the desk are horrible even the doctors havent the slightest clue on what they are doing. You you are ever think about coming here take my advice and dont or you will end up learning the hard way u are way better of just going to holland!
