Medical/Physician, Nursing care, wound care, rehabilitation services were excellent. Good team approach to care. All staff I encountered demonstrated a concern for me to receive the highest level of care. Never did I feel my needs were secondary to facility needs, I was their priority. All staff members were very polite, willing to answer or find an answer to your question(s). Even staff you would pass in the hallways were very friendly, greeted you with a smile. The facility is easy to locate for out-of-town or local family or friends to visit, Free and ample off road parking available. The Hospital is very clean, no odors, private rooms, very accomodating to patient and family needs or special needs. Only issue involved (intra/inter) department communication could be improved, as well as communication of treatment goals and plans with the patient. That aside my experience has been much above average, far exceeded my expectations. Indianapolis is fortunate to have Kindred Hospital available in the Medical community.

I don’t really remember arriving at Kindred Hospital Indianapolis because I was so sick; I can remember bits and pieces. It all started when I was at home and had severe abdominal pain. I was rushed to IU West Hospital where they diagnosed me with liver disease among other things. I was there for over 2 weeks before I came to Kindred. When I got here, I was so mentally out of it. I was dependent on oxygen and unable to walk. Kindred worked with me every day to help me get better. The rehab department is the best. Everyone encouraged me and pushed me to get better. I am able to walk short distances now when before I couldn’t even sit up on the edge of my bed. All the respiratory staff were wonderful and helped me get to where I don’t need as much oxygen anymore. The nursing staff took wonderful care of me and helped me with everything I needed. My stay here has been great in every way; I wish I didn’t have to leave.

Since arriving in march I have received quality professional care from the entire staff from the cleaning staff to the Nurses, Doctors, Therapist both respiratory and strength facility therapist. They are a team spirited facility which work to help each patients needs , even the kitchen staff work as part of the team meeting individual patients dietary needs. I could not think of a better place to be as everyone at kindred go above and beyond taking pride in each job the perform. I thank all whom Ive met and spoke with for meeting and exceeding my expectations . This is what all hospitals should be like placing the patients needs first and ensuring they receive the best care possible. Thank you all for the job your doing not only for me but for all under your care. Sincerely Richard F. Niehoff
