My 9lb dog was attacked by a German Shepard last week. I live in york twp. Since they were my established vet, I called them crying saying what she was attacked by, that it was an emergency, and she was bleeding all over me. They told me bring her straight there, they neglected to tell me that they dont do any major emergency services til I got there. As im trying to leave to go to a clinic, because she has 2 broken ribs, a punctured lung and more, they actually had the nerve to tell me i cant have her back until i pay them $220, instead of apologizing that they wasted valuable time. This is the vet shes always gone to and theres never been an issue with paying..... I get her surgery and am told to take her back to nichols for removal of bandages and aftercare. I go in regretting having to deal with these animal lovers n actually get a very polite kind vet to start n am thinking "ok this is going ok. After changing the bandages a different girl quickly and clumsily walks in and bangs my dogs crate off the doorwall on the way in. (2 broken ribs and a punctured lung along with a torn chest cavity), she quickly and thoughtlessly throws the crate on the exam table knoxlcking my dogs porcelain bowl off and shattering it. Im actually silent cause Im so mad about her being bounced off the doorwall n just wanna leave and I SWEAR TO GOD she picks up one of the 500 pieces of shattered porcelain and says "do you want this so that you can piece it back together." Dont take your animal here.

We have been going for two years. They were so thoughtful and loving towards our two dogs. We had an emergancy with our one dog and had to take her somewhere else during a sunday. Monday I brought her in and they checked over her and looked at ER reports. They said she was miss diagnosed at the ER and reran her bloodwork and sure enough she was. When our other dog passed away in the car on the way to them they came out to verify she was gone and took her in for me. They were so caring while I tried to process in my mind she was gone. We made the decission to keep her ashes and had her dog print done. As another person said the ashes come in a paint can, however if you cremate a human without paying for an urn you get them in a paper box or a plastic box. We ordered her a nice little one online. We just had our two year old male lab neutered. I was extreamly nervous. They were still detailed in the surgery for me and put my mind to ease. When I picked him up they were very detailed also on when and what he could do and what to do if he had pain. Will continue going for long time

Dr Gumper, owner and head surgeon, is so caring and is the only one that I will allow to cut on my babies. Each time, my babies have healed quickly and without any complications! Patti Noe is one of the best vet techs you will have the pleasure of meeting. She cuts basset hound nails like it is nothing and really knows how to handle each breed with her years of experience. Very compassionate about her job and will go the extra mile for all that enter the clinic! She has become a personal friend!

I take the measure of a vet as to whether or not they will refrain from recommending (or insisting on) optional surgeries. I was at a money-printing vet in Chicago who insisted my retriever needed her front bottom canines removed (worn from chewing on things); the vets at Nichols said I should only pursue it if the teeth become lose. I feel Nichols is focused on the care of the animals more than on making money. They charge a very reasonable rate. All staff are very friendly.

Everyone from the front desk staff to the doc and tech were very kind. We made an appointment and didnt wait longer than 10 minutes. They were very knowledgeable and excellent with our pet. Prices were affordable and the vet didnt try to load up our animal with a long list of shots. Website is NOT the correct site for this clinic its set up for a California vet. Nothing negative to say thanks for fixing my kitty and not charging me an arm and a leg.

I had to bring my Dog in on tuesday to be put to sleep. I wanted to save my dogs ashes. I went to pick them up today just to receive them in a paint can. That may be acceptable for some people but not for me. My animals are part of my family and deserves more respect then that. I will not go back or refer anyone to them

I would avoid this vet if you can..... Extremely rude secratary, patients complaining in waiting area. I toke my cat who is ill 3 times for blood work that should have been done on the first visit. I hear the same complaint I have with place from so many different people.....one of the secretarys. never coming back

Moving to Tennessee, I wish i could make a drive just to go to this Vet. The staff (Megan) are always so helpful. Ive taken all my pets here. My mother takes all of her animals, as well as my sisters animals here. She has been going here since as long as i can remember. Best Vet Ever!

Nichols has been taking care of my pets since 1978. They are very compassionate and professional, especially when it comes to making end of life decisions for my senior pets. They are always supportive and provide the best care in my opinion; I would never take my pets anywhere else.

Love this place. We actually made an appointment at the humane society in Wayne county first, but we were there waiting for two hours already and the vet was not even there yet. So we left and made an appointment at Nichols. One of the best decisions weve ever made.

They saved my GSD from parvovirus, and when we could no longer pay, they pulled from their fund that was set up, even though they werent sure he was going to make it. He pulled through, and I will always be grateful for the staff for taking care of my sick puppy.

Its okay. The doctors change about like every two months and they have no idea about my dogs medical history. Building is old and seems like they dont clean because I found dog/cat hair everywhere even table where they checking dog/cat. Price very reasonable.
