If you want to pay more than normal for a routine surgery, only to have to go to an animal hospital (b/c of this vets horrible business hours) and pay another large sum for that hospital to treat the ensuing infection caused by this places poor work.... then go here. When I first dropped off my pet for her surgery, the doctor seemed super nice. However, only a couple hours after I picked her up the next day her incisions had come open. It was only 3:15p, and this place was already closed for the day. Their website and after-hours phone message said that if they werent open then to take our pet to the Animal Emergency Center in Novi (thinking that they were affiliated). When we brought her there, the doctor said that she had a fever of 105 (which is extremely high for a kitten) and that it was due to the surgery and open incisions, which can sometimes happen. The doctor also said that she was surprised a cone or bandage was never put on as an added precaution and that antibiotics werent prescribed. Dr. Rosenbaum assured me that there wouldnt be any complications and that the laser surgery and therapy were state-of-the-art and prevented pain and infection compared to general scalpel use. We paid twice as much for this "special" laser surgery technique. My aunt is a vet in Chicago and my parents have had their cats get infections from surgery before, and they told me that the vet normally covers the extra cost if complications occur due to their surgery. I understand that complications can happen, but Dr. Rosenbaum adamantly refused that she got the infection from the surgery and the incisions opening, blaming it on a "dormant illness that must have arose". My aunt said that that couldnt be the case, especially since 1) She had no other symptoms of illness, 2) Her incisions had come open, and 3) Her fever occurred within 24 hours after the surgery. I supervised our kitten the entire time when I had brought her home after the surgery, she acted like a normal kitten but nothing too strenuous, and then she slept on my lap for a while. It was only after the incisions had come open that she kept wanting to lick and bite at them. The emergency center gave us a hard cone to put on her for the night, and when we had taken her back to Dr. Rosenbaum the next day he found another incision point that had come open since her emergency visit. Since she had the cone on that entire time, its proof that her incisions hadnt come open from her chewing on them. And yet, he was adamant that that was the case. He said that he doesnt agree with putting bandages or cones on pets b/c it is uncomfortable for them. It may be uncomfortable, but its a lot better for the animals welfare then going without and the animal suffering a fever and infection. Overall, for a normally $150 procedure, I paid $315 + $98 for the emergency visit and antibiotics. The only thing I liked about this place was that he replaced the hard plastic cone with a soft fabric one, and he sutured the opened incisions for free (instead of using surgical glue like he did before). It took 5 weeks for my kittens incisions to finally heal, and I feel horrible for taking her to this place which ended up making her go through so much discomfort and pain. He seems nice, but if something goes wrong be prepared for him to cover his own butt... o, and its your pets fault if something happens, not his.

Our family is so thankful for the referral that was given to us that sent us to Dr. Rozenbaum’s practice almost two years ago. We knew from the first time we brought our dogs in that it was going to be a great relationship! Dr. Rozenbaum and his staff are SO WONDERFUL! They are caring, compassionate, honest, respectful, dedicated, reliable, flexible with our schedules, and of course, affordable!! It only takes one visit until you will realize all of these attributes and more! They truly care about you and your most cherished companions. They understand that they are not just a “family pet”, but SO much more! They are an important and loved part of your family. They will answer all of your questions you may have. If they are unsure of the answer, they will do whatever it takes to find out and always get back with you about it!! You never know or appreciate the importance of your Veterinarian until you are faced with a dire emergency with your beloved pet like our family was in May of this year. One of our two Golden Retreivers was involved in an attack by two other dogs. My husband called Dr. Rozenbaum’s office to let them know we were bringing our dog in right away. I can’t begin to explain how upset and frightened we were. When we first arrived, Ashley kept me constantly updated as to the situation, as I stayed out in the waiting room to scared to be right there while the Doctor and Renee evaluated Bentley and got him stabilized, and prepped for surgery, because he was in shock when he was brought in. I think I was a little in shock too, and Ashley would check on me to make sure I was also ok and would ask if I needed water or anything. I can remember asking Dr. Rozenbaum if Bentley was going to be OK. He replied that he was going to do everything possible to try and assure us he would have the best possible chance, but, that only time would tell because of the extensiveness of his wounds. Anyone of course would want to be told that “Yes, he will make it,” but we so appreciated his honestly because no-one at that point really knew and it would have been dishonest for him to have said anything else to us. Our family owes the skilled and loving care that was and still continues to be provided to our Bentley, for him to have made such a most remarkable recovery. We will be forever grateful along with our other Golden for giving us, our happy, tail wagging, Bentley back and Molson his playmate back. You can be assured; our dogs will remain most loyal patients for life!!

I love this place, and let me tell you why but its a long story. On the same day I picked up my dog "Zoey" from the breeder I took her to the breeders recommended vet and was told that she had a flea on her. All that night and the next morning i was stressed out because the vet seemed to be very nonchalant and this is my first dog (and you know that fleas are no joke). So the next morning I search the internet and found AVM and talked with Ashley, who was soooo nice. She was very patient with me as I told her about my horrible experience with the breeder and Zoeys first vet visit. She went and talked with the vet (now my vet) Dr.John (first name) his last name is to hard to say lol and told him my story and they made me an appointment for that same day for a FREE office visit, stating they just waned to relieve some of my stress and check my dog again. So I went there and they took great care of me and Zoey. The doctor was patient and allowed me to ask as many questions as I wanted. He also took the time to talk to me about zoeys current condition and what was our next step to keep her healthy and flea free. They took her weight, temp, heart rate and even her pic, none of which she had done on her first visit. To make this long story short my first vet visit was horrible but I was told the guy had cheap prices and that he was good. But Im here to say I wont be going back because saving a buck is not always the best thing and I learned that quality/thorough and even pleasant service cost money But TODAY I DIDNT PAY A THING. Thank you DR John and the whole crew at AVM we owe you. Tasha and Zoey
