I have been to see Dr. Krauter for my dog and cat. Both times he was very gentle with my pets and thorough in his examinations. The vet techs were also very friendly and you could tell they were passionate about animals. The office visit is average for this area. Sometimes you go to a animal hospital and you get the feeling they are trying to squeeze more money out of you by up-selling medicines and treatments, but I didnt experience that pressure here. The doctor doesnt perform surgeries anymore, but will refer you to a vet/animal hospital in the area. For checkups and vaccinations, this place is more than fine. The building is right next to the Burger King, so if there isnt room on the street, you can park in the BK lot and walk over. Theres just one exam room and the building is small/old-fashioned. Definitely nothing fancy, but I prefer solid care over bells and whistles when it comes to my pets. When I last called, their hours were: Mon 9-11:45 & 6-7:45, Tues 2:30-4:45, Wed 9-11:45, Thurs closed, Fri 9-11:45 & 3-4:45 and Sat 9-12. Please call ahead to make sure as this could have changed by the time you read this review.

In the heart of bergen county, theres still a place you can take your pets and not worry about breaking the bank, and still give them quality care. Dr. K is great. Hes been working with animals for a long time and you can tell he loves what he does. Oradell is a great hospital for surgeries, and other emergencies, but for check-ups, vaccines and routine maintenance, hackensck is the place to go. The prices are also very reasonable and most medication you can get from there as well. Highly recommended.

Going to Dr J for 12 years My cat is the heart of my soul and I completely trust this vets advise and courses of treatment. My kitty has had a few hurdles in his time (and continues to live with some) - Dr J has always helped him through it. And Cheryl helps ME through it.. I sometimes need to talk to her about things when I get nervous or upset and she has a way of explaining things to let me know what to expect. Pammy and Meredith are very nice too!

Best vet around in Bergen County!! Office is located by the Sears in Hackensack. Street parking only. The vet is a nice knowledgeable man, with amazing care and even better pricing! He does not try anf gauge you like some of these other places do. It is pretty easy to get an appointment and you do not sit for very long at all waiting to see him. We are extremely happy with this place and so relieved we found this diamond in the rough!!!

The office isnt luxurious but the loving care that your pet will get is priceless. I finally found a true man in this profession who really care about the well being of animals and not the money that other vets look for, since his office is not high tech it allows him to charge his customers at the most reasonable price, my only regret is not knowing about him much sooner.

This animal hospital is by far the best around this area. Ive been to many vets around here and Dr. Krauter is the most honest and caring doctor. His office is nice and cozy and the staff is very friendly. Its easy to make appointments and the hours are very flexible. I would strongly recommend this animal hospital.

I just happen to be calling Dr. Krauter even though I dont live in his area any longer. I know Dr. Krauter for over 25 years. From time to time Ill make the trip when I need an opinion that I trust 100%. He is someone you can trust 100% also. All the other great reviews are right on.

Dr. Jimmy is the best you can find for your pet. Looks like hes doing it not for money, just for helping his patients. We were with Dr. Jimmy for 13 years and now my dog Tommy is passing away (his last hours/minutes). Our hearts are broken. We were lucky having such a good vet. Thank you.

not happy how the receptionist answer the phone didnt greet when answering and very unfriendly they do not let you even explain why you are calling for and just start telling you prices for everything ..i was looking for a vet closer to where i live but i wouldnt change my vet after this

Love this doc. My dog Patrick is always nervous every time I take him anywhere but when he visit the doc at Hackensack Animal Hospital, the doc knows how to calm him, talk with him and most of he knows his stuff. Thanks Doc we love ya!

One of the best "Real" vets left... Personalble, kind, knowledgeable, thorough and priced well. Does not perform surgeries but for basic care, checkups and shots Dr.Jamie Krauter cant be beat in Bergen County.
