Last time I had an appt scheduled they cancelled on me, then took 6 more months to get rescheduled. When I was sent my bill, I was charged a second charge to the procedure I had done as a "new pt", even though I had been there before (this was my annual). Then they argued with me that I was charged as a new pt b/c I hadnt been there in 3 years. When asked the date of my last visit it was under 2 years, but even as the person told me the date she couldnt seem to grasp it wasnt 3 years. FINALLY, got a revised bill in the mail, but it was marked FINAL NOTICE, with threat of sending to collection agency. When I addressed this problem, I was told 2 prior statements to the 2 I received had gone to an old address. That is not my problem. They obviously have my correct address since 2 statements made it to my house. Not to mention, the doc I saw on my last visit just kept criticizing my tan and all my freckles. I wear 50 sunscreen when I am out, but I am not going to hibernate. Please just let me know if I have any areas of concerned and try to be nice. I will NOT ever return, and I will tell others not to waste their time!!

I went twice and saw Dr. Carol Lekan. I didnt like the first time, but was hopeful the second visit would be better. Dr. Lekan and the nurse 1) rushed the visit, 2) explained little even under questioning until I stopped asking because they didnt seem interested in answering questions, 3) encouraged several treatments, and 4) charged exhorbitant prices. Ive since checked the pricing $110 for a "Benign Destruction" of 6 spots using liquid nitrogen - took 30 seconds. Then $325 for "cosmetic destruction" of 20 +/- spots - took <5 minutes. When I had billing/insurance concerns, a real conversation was impossible as the office staff was first really difficult, then kept going to the back to have private conversations with the nurse, and perhaps Dr. Lekan. Ive since spoken to a close friend who is a Dermatologist on Long Island, NY. My friend says the rates they charged me in Raleigh are astronomical - much higher than what she could and does charge in a LI suburb of NY.

I saw Dr. Allgood, or whatever his name is. He is the medical doctor there. I went for a total body check. He missed a growth the size of half a pea on my nose, that was pink. When I asked him about it, he removed it, while telling me he was sure it was cancer and I would have to come back for surgery by Dr. Echt. The biopsy came back benign. Earlier I went to have some places removed as I had in the past due to itching and bleeding. I was told insurance didnt cover that but I could pay out of pocket. It has been covered in the past elsewhere if they were bleeding. Before that I saw two of the PAs concerning a rash on my arms, as well as dryness and a breaking out on one foot that was totally different. Neither knew what either problem was, and no scraping was done on my foot. I continue to have the foot skin problem. The rash was an allergic reaction to a medicaiton - evidently. Who knows what skin problems I have? They dont.

Wow, when I noticed something that I wanted examined I was able to call and get an appointment in the same week (a cancellation but I was lucky to get it,) I arrived a bit early to update my paperwork but was surprised to be called back by the nurse before I had even started my forms! Friendly as well as fast, my nurse gave me a gown and by the time I had slipped it on, the doctor was arriving to hear my concerns. She and the nurse worked well together, checking for anything that might be suspicious. Though the spot I had found was harmless, the doctor found a very tiny area that was worthy of a biopsy. She worked quickly and painlessly to remove it and treat my other spot and send me on my way. I stayed a few extra minutes to complete my forms but my appointment was very fast and the staff are friendly and excellent.

I had something I felt on my back, and decided to go get it checked out. They had me see the P.A. Holly. She gave me a shot in the back, took a small razor off and removed. I was there a full 5 minutes. I received a bill for $555. I almost had a heart attack. I called Dr. Echts office, and for some reason, they have no idea what prices they charge for procedures. They had me call a separate billing company. I found out they charged me for a new patient visit for $157.00 because I havent been there since 2009. Then they charged me $239.00 for the biopsy, and $159.00 for someone to read the report. When I got home, I realized, they didnt take off the correct spot in the first place. I cannot understand how anyone can afford to go to doctors any more. This is ridiculous.

After having mohs (a basal removed) procedure on my shoulder, I have a HORRIBLE scar...a lovely criss cross/rail road tracks design that people often Iremark on. I could tell the nurse had difficulty removing the stiches, and seemed concerned. My skin had started to grow over the stitches, as they had been left in too long. The office was remodeling and temporalrily moving locations, and evidently caused a delay in removal. I did go back twice to complain, but was told it was perfectly normal, and the stitches were in for a normal time period. Needless to say, my new practice is WONDERFUL. I have had a few things removed since, and you can barely see a scar.

I saw Dr. Holly Martin for a scab. This was my first office visit for a skin cancer check, so I knew nothing and had a lot of questions. She was luke-warm on my first visit when I had the biopsy. When I came back to have the procedure done, she was professional and answered all my questions. I didnt feel the procedure (an EDC). After that, I kept getting $200+ bills, after my insurance company said that all I would have to pay was the co-pay. This was in-network and was covered. I cant call my insurance company (United Health Care) because theyre no longer in business.

Waited 4 weeks for an appt because I was a new patient. I had a morning appt. Arrived 15min early liked I was asked to then waited an additional 40 minutes past my appt time for and exam that took maybe 10 minutes and was told nothing could be done until I get blood work done...Ugh! It really burns me when Dr. Offices demand you show up early, usually threatening to charge you or cancel you if your more than 10-15 minutes late, but then keep you waiting forever! Disrespectful, I have a life to. Perhaps they should offer a discount if they are more than 15 minutes late!

I just called and scheduled an appointment with Holly Martin for November 10th for a mole on my back. Not one problem. Pleasant girl on the desk; weve been going there for probably five years and have had nothing except exceptional care. In and out in no time. Of course you need to come early to fill out paperwork, and of course you may have to wait - if you were the patient they are helping, would you want to be rushed out the door? I swear, some of you just live to carp about everything. Love this practice and always recommend it to my neighbors and family!
