I have went to this establishment since Dr. Bergman was alive and started in middle of Hagerstown. This August 2016, I went for annual eye exam, was examined by Dr. Stern. I did not get prescription due to the fact that my vision had not changed. Dr. Stern stated I had small cataract developing but it was not affecting vision.. My glass broke and I called the office for eye glass prescription and talked to Courtney. She stated she could not give me prescription because the Dr. didn’t give one when I was seen in August. I would have to come in and be examined again, but due to the fact I live 5 hours away, that is a little hard to do. I will be looking for a doctor in my area so I do not have to schedule for summer time office visits. This is very poor way to do business, I think it was just to get another 900.00 for exam. Alec from Maryland Vision Institute contacted me the next day and proceeded to become the liaison between his office and myself. Alec offer to assist me in any way with obtaining my prescription. Alec was extremely helpful and sent me a new prescription and faxed on to my eyepiece of choice here in Beckley, WV. I am extremely satisfied with the way that Alec treated me and satisfied to have received my prescription.

Sorry, but this place is horrible. Its a nice facility but you pay for it in the end. The staff is really nice and the eye doctors are nice but since when do you have to make 2 separate appointments to get your glasses and contacts. I went in for a routine appointment to have my eyes checked and when making the appointment I told them that I wore glasses but would also like to get contacts. They didnt tell me until I was in the chair at the appointment that I would have to make a second appointment to get the contacts and when I came back they charged me for the contacts. (one pair) They told me that it takes a week for them to order the contacts. Since when do eye doctors not have contact samples.. When my daughter went in they did the same thing but then they gave her an unfinished Rx, so when I ordered her contacts on line I had to have them call the eye doctor to get the full written Rx. A real hassle and completely unprofessional. If you dont mind getting the run around and paying more than you should for an eye doctors visit than by all means make the appointment. I however wouldnt waste my time and would never recommend them to anyone and am now looking for a new eye dr.

I had Lasik Eye Surgery performed for both my eyes at Maryland Vision Institute in Mid December. I had bad vision, dry eyes and was very anxious to have a life changing experience. After my procedure I walked out being able to see so much better. Staff was courteous, professional and very thorough. They value high level of customer satisfaction. My doctors (Dr Heavner and Dr Stern) made my visits very easy by answering all my questions and brought great confidence in their ability to correct my vision. As soon you walk in chances are that you will work with Julia who answers most of your questions. I was very impressed with her friendly personality. She answered all my questions on financial schemes and brought me to ease. I am more than grateful of how i was treated during my time at this clinic. Highly recommend this place!!! Best place to get Lasik done in Maryland with the most up-to-date technology you can find!

Dr. Stern was able to do an amazing job with cataract removal as well as my corneal transplant of both eyes! Dr. Stern is very knowledgeable and an expert in his field of practice. His staff is compassionate towards their patients and always answer any questions or concerns one might have. If you are experiencing any vision problems, I very highly recommend Dr. Stern at the Maryland Vision Institute! Dr. Stern is definitely devoted to ophthalmology and to improving the vision of his patients.

My husband Charles just had cataract surgery by Dr Stern & everything went very well. He was very kind ,caring , and knowledgeable not only to my husband, but me also. He made me part of the process and that I understood what would take place and aftercare to be done. Older people get very nervous about new procedures and what will possibly happen and everyone there was polite and understanding. We both had a very pleasant experience. Will recommend Md Vision Institute to anyone.

I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes. I consider MD Vision Institute to be a top notch facility! Starting with the office staff all the way through to the surgeon. I was treated in a timely fashion from my evaluation all the way through my post op follow ups, Dr. Stern is very efficient at what he does! The results that I experienced afterward are nothing short of spectacular!! Thanks to Dr. Stern, I can now see clearly again!

I have completed cataract surgery and my vision is better than it has been for years. I can now see individual leaves at the top of trees and color is more intense. The staff were courteous and efficient. The procedure was done within half an hour. The surgery felt like cool water washing through my eye. There was no discomfort. It was a positive experience. Maryland Vision Institute is excellent for any of your vision needs. I had lasik surgery performed here in April 2015. The staff are excellent, and kept me very well informed prior to the procedure. Everyone is very friendly and made me feel at ease during the whole process and have been excellent with my follow up appointments. If you are considering lasik or just need an eye check up, I highly recommend MVI.

I am continually impressed by the level of skill, knowledge and caring these practitioners provide to their patients and by how much they give back to the community. Waited 45 minutes past scheduled appointment time to be seen. Company boasts a $2,400 savings on Lasik procedures, but there is no such savings. When making the appointment, they stated my vision insurance would be honored for 20% off vision correction surgery. During consultation, I was told they dont accept this discount. Nice staff, disappointing business.

The Maryland Vision Institute staff manages to run as a well-oiled machine while still giving each patient personal attention. Had cataract surgery just yesterday and cant wait to have the next one done. Dr. Stern has performed tons of these surgeries and I felt very comfortable putting my eyes in his hands, so to speak.
