The Growers

We brought in our kitten reporting that she was not acting normal and sleeping too much. The vet failed to check her vital signs and blamed it on hormones. The next we called up candle wood animal hospital to report that she was very sick. They refused to see her telling us there was nothing wrong. We went to see another vet and were told she had hours to live. She died that night. Without the incompetence of Candlewood Animal Hospital our pet may have still been alive today. Id also like to add the receptionist lied saying the vet had checked her vital signs when later the vet admitted he hadnt.

My dog broke his leg on a weekend. I called Dr Maizel to get some guidance on what to do. He told me to bring him in. Dr Maizel opened the hospital for my injured friend and X-rayed him, set the bone stitched him up and casted the paw. I will never forget the compassion and care we received that day. Simply put, my childrens doctor would not come in on a Sunday to provide care for a serious injury. When you find a Veterinarian practice whose doctors set the tone of the practice that cares this much, then they are keepers.

Went here because they offered lower cost for spay/neuter for kittens I rescued. I explained that I had lost a cat previously under anesthesia and would really appreciate it if they could call me as soon as he awoke from surgery as I would be a nervous wreck. Girl at the front desk had a real attitude problem and acted like I was asking for her to give me her first born and that she couldnt be bothered. She said she might be busy and couldnt say either way if she could call. She did not call. I will not be back.

I called today per a recommendation from a person I see at the dog park in New Milford on a regular basis. Upon asking for an appointment for my pet I was treated so DISGUSTINGLY by an employee named MARY! I feel very bad that I will not be going to this animal hospital since I hear the doctors are wonderful however the staff is APPALLING and should not work in a setting where people are upset about their loved ones. Not recommended for anyone who loves their pets as family!

Dr. Maizel is incredible. I had a very ill cat with and Dr. Maizel cared for her as if she were his. He even came in on a Sunday morning when the office was closed to administer medication. I credit him to keeping her alive, 100%. The ladies at the front desk are also extremely caring and are always concerned with the wellbeing of my cat, as well. I recommend to the highest extent.

This veterinary hospital saved my dogs life. Nathalie had deep wounds (caused by neglect during boarding). The doctors and staff at CAH dressed her wounds daily, applied routine and novel medications (honey-based) and helped nurture her to health. And did I mention my dog is 16 years? What the hospital achieved was nothing less than a miracle.

If there were 6 stars, I would give them. Caring and compassionate, these vets are real. All of the people working there are warm and welcoming, and really are there for the best they can offer your fur baby. Highly recommend!!!!!
