I have to say I went by the reviews when I looked this place up for the first time. I was very concerned for my family member based on the reviews. However, for my family member and myself, our experience was nothing like I had expected. Hillside was a very good program for my addicted loved one. They did not medicate him with numerous medications like previous rehab centers have done in the past. I actually got to see a very positive change in my family member that I havent seen for years. The rehab also includes the family in the addicts care plan. Counselor Val really helped my family member unlike any counselor has ever done. She encourages addicts families to take care of themselves which is so hard to do, but necessary. She does not sugar coat anything, and tells it like it needs to be told. Also if Val does not agree with the addicts discharge plan, she will definitely voice her opinion as to why it isnt a good choice, and she will find other options. Val truly takes her job to heart. I believe that if we had more counselors like Val, so many more addicts would be helped. She is a wonderful and essential counselor for Hillside in East Stroudsburg. I would definitely recommend this rehab for your addicted loved one.

Omg the worst place ever Id rather b homeless or in any jail than that hell . I made it 20mins b4 I checked out terrible food terrible an rude staff no extra drinks or food or coffee. Residents were hungry an very uncomfortable. Very tight an congested no room to walk or sit. Rec room is locked all the time. Jail is heaven compared to that hell

unless u on welfare ( so they can over charge government and us tax payer pay for it) stay away they claim to be dual diagnosis bunch of crap recreational holistic my ass i was there to pick up my husband a patient ask for rec time outside on a pretty nice day that did not happen excuses excuses

Terrible, staff was rude and unprofessional. Nurses were just as rude and unnecessarily rough for no reason. Absolutely nothing to do for detox patiences besides a room with a tv and one 300 piece puzzle. Would not recommend to anyone.
