This veterinary practice initially was superb, with kind care and treatment to my animals. However, events changed earlier this year. One of my pets had a UTI and I was trying to get her seen. The vet agreed she should have been. She finally was and antibiotics were prescribed. However, the antibiotics prescribed caused sensitivity, so alternative antibiotics were administered. The final incident was when another vet saw the older pet, stating he had all these medical problems in advanced veterinary language that a reasonable person could not understand. Thus, I needed clarification. One said problem was severe arthritis, which I was aware of. However, one of the issues that she did not tell me was that he needed a neurological referral. This was advised later by the regular vet. When I called to make another appointment for the older dog - stating that he had collapsed - the customer service representative asked if this was because he cant or he WONT walk??? It was well documented he had mobility problems. I have not returned ever since. When ones animals need to be examined by a veterinary professional, that practice has a duty to provide the appropriate veterinary care for the described ailment that the poor animal is enduring. It is not sufficient to receive word from a customer service representative, or relying upon emails to explain a problem. It is very disappointing that this facility is more focused on their profits lately, rather than the proper and compassionate care of the animals that are presented to them, as happened initially.

At Waterhouse we felt like family and our two kitties, Mocha and Sparky (Ragdoll litter brothers) received the best care possible. Dr. Todd Conlan was our primary veterinarian and he is worth his weight in gold. He helped us get our two boys through diabetes (they were diagnosed at the same time)...he was there for support and caring for the final two years they were with us. Sadly we lost them last month due to complications of the diabetes...we were lucky to have them in our lives for almost 14 years and grateful for all of the staff at Waterhouse who loved them like they were their own. I didnt find their prices overly expensive...when we moved back to Fresno almost seven years ago I checked other clinics, even one specially for cats, and their office visit charge was equal to Waterhouse...I could have saved about $40 on teeth cleaning at PetSmart but would not even consider it...when my kitties were in need of special care...then I wanted them to have the best and knew they got that at Waterhouse. Thank you Dr. Conlan and Waterhouse staff you helped make our last days with Mocha and Sparky happy ones.

We used to take our pets here, years ago. I loved it because it felt so pet friendly. It seems very high end for pet care which I wouldnt mind if I didnt feel like they were a big rip off! Im glad I parted ways with this place. They insisted I feed our pups whatever they were promoting at the time (Iams?), even though one of my pups was allergic. They prescribed her meds before I could even ask what they were for. When I called, they said it was for a bladder infection, "in case she had one"!! I looked up bladder infection in pups and my pup had zero signs of infection!!! This place is insane!!! I remember coming out of there one day and a customer was venting to me, telling me he never leaves this place without a $300 min bill. This place is such a sad disgrace and yes, as someone else said, they prey on our love and devotion to our animals.

Ive been at Waterhouse for more than 10 years. I interviewed 3 different veterinary hospitals to decide which would be most beneficial for my epileptic dog. I compared prices as well as office staff and the doctors. 10 years later I am as thankful as ever to have this office care for my animals. Some reviews mention overpriced services. The paperwork I filled out on each of my pets clearly asked how I felt about my pet (family member, pet, etc.) which would assist the staff in knowing the level of care I would be willing to pay for. My dog had an appointment at Davis within 2 weeks of starting with Dr. Waterhouse. I have had 3 dogs and 4 cats treated and cared for here. Just like a human doctor, I trust them with my furchildrens lives. Wouldnt go anywhere else!

Have been taking my dogs and cats there for years – – always got excellent care, knowledgeable veterinarians and helpful staff. Last week took my dog there to see a specialist, and when they took me in the back (behind the exam rooms) I got to see exactly why Waterhouse animal hospital has earned its reputation for great care. Behind the scenes, that place is incredibly clean, the animals are calm and quiet, and the staff is treating each pet gently and with great care. Its not just the pets--they treat the humans great also. The wait time has always been reasonable, and they always make sure that I get a full explanation of exactly what is going on, what the diagnosis is, and when I can expect going forward. This place is the real deal.

When our cat got very sick from the rat poisoned pet food (Menu Foods) Dr. Waterhouse was so wonderful. He was their only fatality from this poisoning and she and her staff were absolutely amazing. They did all they could to save our kitty but when they couldnt, they were patient, kind, and sympathetic. They also take Care Credit which was fantastic in a pinch. (We did not have the $600+ in cash at the time.) And they were also lower priced then the other vet hospitals we called - all quoted at $1000+. I would recommend this animal hospital over any other. Well worth the trip to beautiful northeast Fresno.

We absolutely love Waterhouse Animal Hospital. The staff is wonderful and takes great care of our little Parker Rose who is a mini golden doodle. If Parker could write this review she would tell you how much she loves going to the vet....she actually gets excited to see everyone!! Most importantly the expertise and care that we get at Waterhouse Animal Hospital is superb. We also took our Golden Retriever there for 13 1/2 years. The love that they gave us when we had to put our Lucy down will never be forgotten....such compassion. I highly recommend going to Waterhouse Animal Hospital.

We had to take our dog in to be euthanized as the cancer he had finally had caught up to him. From the very start everyone at this hospital was very caring and thoughtful and so helpful during this difficult time. Everyone was sweet and professional and seemed genuinely interested in helping us and being caring to us and to our best bud. I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you for taking such good care of everything Waterhouse!

this place is all about money. Did an X-ray telling me everything is fine no life threatening and proceeded with the surgery. Had to pay $1000 up front in order for them to start the surgery and told me my dog is in good hand. Left the vet and an hour later they called saying they have bad news. They said they cant do anything to help my dog and my best option is to put him to sleep. Horrible place dont take your pets there.
