It was late. Our dog was clearly in pain - very unusual for her - even at her advanced age (dont tell her I said that!). Alas, we are in Sequoia National Park with spotty phone /WiFi service, even if present. I called this clinic about an hour and a half away in hopes of getting treatment. Jeffie couldnt even lift her head. In spite of several dropped calls - unlike another area clinic - they said, "Get her here as fast as you safely can. If you leave now, we can probably get you in." We left right away. I know a thing or two about health care. Unlike many healthcare facilities, human or animal, professionalism, kindness, and empathy were the focus throughout our visit. Every staff member. I was so upset over the events of the day, I dont even remember the vets name. But, he treated everyone with respect, explained our treatment options, and considered the unique aspects of our situation (being away from home, with limited access, and a long drive back to our rooms). Im very attached to my girl, Jeffie. These people created a very caring environment, including providing directions to a very good nearby restaurant before our long drive back to the Park. The plan of Jeffies care was just what we felt she needed. While giving us options, the vet said, "I think this is what I would do if she was my dog." Those words brought relief, since it was obvious he cared about OUR Jeffie. We have no idea what is expected for vet services costs in this area. Wed have been willing to pay MUCH MORE for the care they gave us. They gave us the option for more diagnostics, but didnt press us at all to do them, especially since - at this stage - they would alter treatment very little. The cost for service was very fair. We left this clinic feeling not just satisfied but deeply pleased and grateful for their kindness. Thank you. Mike, Barb, and Mercy (and, of course, Jeffie).

My Mom has been taking her pets, to include dogs, cats and horses to this clinic for the past 20 years. This last visit was different. The vet on hand did not diagnose her cat even close to what it had and took an X-ray of a cat who was sick, not limping or in any amount of pain in a localized area to warrant an x-ray to find out the cause. After this, the vet did not know what was wrong with the cat and sent it home with antibiotics and a two week follow up exam. The cat was so sick the next day it came in for more treatment. Another vet took a look and determined it was pancreatitus, by this time, the liver was swollen and the cat was in clear distress. The vets kept reassuring my mother the cat would recover(although the only time the cat seemed ok was when it was doped up(anyone can be happy on the right amount of pain medication). After days of being kept alive by pain meds and subcutaneous fluids, mom went in to have the cat put down(again, she had said so before but was talked out of it by the vet), and was made to pay for all the treatment before the cat was brought out. When the cat came out, the eyes were already glazed over, and would die very soon anyhow, but she still went through with the euthanization as then advised by the vet. Long story short, misdiagnosed and then kept alive by drugs only caused my mother to have to spend near $1000 and go through a lot of heartache, where if the cat was diagnosed properly and courses of action explained, then the cat could have been put down immediately and not have been suffering as long. Mom will not go back to this clinic since it is obvious they are inexperienced at this time.

4 1/2 Stars Staff was very friendly, front waiting area is clean and has plenty of seating with a help yourself refreshment spot. Lots of awareness pamphlets and magazines to read if you have to wait to be seen. Myself didnt wait long enough to look through 1/2 of a mag before they called my dogs name. Once in the exam room the nurse was very thorough and because I filled out the new patient form I printed from the website prier to arriving, she already knew a bit about my Lil girl and my reason for taking her in. Even though the cancer diagnosis wasnt what any parent wants to hear one of their babies, I was still pleased with the Dr in general and plan to take the rest of my dog family to see him when needed. Ive only ben one time, but recommend anybody in search of a good Dr for their animal family to try this cute peaceful place out in the country. The only downfall for me personally is for a bill that is expected to be alto, only if you apply and qualify they will accept a Care Credit Card, you then have a payment plan with that card company. Otherwise they will ask for a deposit when you drop off and the rest when you pick up your pet.

Staff is very helpful. MAKE SURE TO SEE DR ADAMS! she is very kind with animals, and seems to be more compassionate towards them (in my opinion). My dog is a very good judge of character (he hated one of the other vets in the facility, but loves dr. Adams.) The staff call after each visit to check up and make sure everything is fine with my little guy. I highly recommend Dr. Adams. Lone Oak seems to be a bit on the pricier side, but caring for exotic pets as well, and also the level of care given, I choose this vet over any others.

I had to go to Loan Oak this week after our goat became very ill. Our goat ended up having to be put down. The staff at Loan Oak was sensitive, kind, caring and supportive. The veterinarian that performed the procedure was so incredible and I will always appreciate his hand on my shoulder as we said goodbye to our family friend. I absolutely recommend this vet clinic in good times, and the painful.

This is the only place we will take our animals. The front office staff is absolutely the best. They always have a solution for our animals that we can trust.
