My wife had an appointment in the Salem office. We went to the office and did s few tests for a Lasik consultation. We were then given the forms and drove straight to the Roanoke office. When we got there, one of the techs came out and said "You know you were supposed to be here at 2:30?". At this time it was 3:30, our Salem appointment STARTED at 2:20. I explained to her that we were told to go to Salem first. Then another tech comes out and takes us in the office and says"It is late, and this takes a while, can you not come back Monday?" We told them no, we could not. So they took us back into the exam room and did the consultation. The tech that did the first set of tests was very nice to us, but the other tech and the Dr. seemed irritated the whole time. It made my wife very uncomfortable the whole time. They were, in my opinion very unprofessional and unwelcoming. If they schedule an appointment in Salem and then expect you to finish that appointment and make it to Roanoke in 10 minutes, they have terrible logistics. We will not be going back to this place for any reason.

I had an eye examination at Vistar Eye Center on Jefferson Street in Roanoke, VA. I took the prescription to have glasses made, and it was immediately obvious that the glasses were wrong. I went back to Vistar and had another technician do a re-check. She verified that the first technician had made an error examining my eyes. I took the prescription from the re-check, and had two more pairs of glasses made for $700. The second prescription was also very wrong. I subsequently had my eyes examined by an independent Optometrist. I called Vistar and spoke with an administrator who said he would let Dr. Tims know so it would not happen again. I asked for a follow up, and never heard from them again. BEWARE, these technicians at Vistar are poorly trained and not competent to correctly examine eyes, and Vistar has to know it. They didnt care a wit either about an acceptable standard of professional competence, or about their responsibility to their customers.

My experience at 707 Vista Eye Center with Dr Kali Griffeth was superb! Dr. Griffeth did my cataract surgery, one eye at a time, and the outcome was so unbelieveable (reading glasses only) that my neurologist is going to recommend her to his patients. He is a five star neurologist and his word speaks volumes. Sometimes we have to wait due to circumstances unknown, however, for me she is worth her weight in gold.

The prescription eye doctors and technicians are excellent, the people who sell the actual glasses are horrible. Get a prescription there but purchase absolutely anywhere else.

Been a patient for 15 years and the wait time is horrible. Average is an hour plus. If they are that busy maybe need to hire another doctor, or stop taking new patients.
