My experience today as a new patient was: 1. Good - I was called and asked could I come in at 3:10 instead of my 4 pm appointment. 2. Good- Greeted by friendly staff and screening completed by competent, friendly technician. Opportunity for improvement - Placed in room at 4:10 (1 hour later) to wait for Dr. Brooks. Poor customer service - Finally at 4:30 I decided to leave because at this point I had listened to 20 minutes of Dr. Brooks indepth personal conversation with someone i.e. differences in men and women, what women want, his past martial experience, etc. I went to front desk and informed receptionist and office manager about my experience and that I was leaving. And still no Dr. Brooks. I work in the medical field and believe no patient should have to wait for personal conversations to end before receiving treatment. Recap - my time lost, no eye exam, no prescription, AND no return patient. T. Ellis

Couldnt disagree more with the person who wrote "this organization does not understand customer service". They are all about customer service. From the front desk to the assistants to Dr. Brooks to getting your prescription filled. If I ever had customer service like this from my other Doctors I think I would drop from surprise. Since Im 62 and have worn glasses or contacts since 16 I have been to a lot of Optometrists in five states in my life. These guys are in the top two. I have my kids go there. That should say something. Excellent customer service, highly knowledgeable, conscientious in follow up. Great Practice. And I would have no remorse in saying otherwise if that was the case. And no, I am not related to Dr. Brooks or connected to him socially. But one needs to give credit where credit is due. You wont be disappointed.

Although the doctor was very nice, the ladies in the office were rude. First, they were impolite to other customers while I was waiting. Next, during my exam, the optometrist gave me a new pair of contacts to try, and put these in a contact lens case. The optician also gave me another pair on contacts to try. As I was walking to my car after the appointment, the optician ran out of the building to find me again. She asked to see the contact lens case that the optometrist had given me, and then she EMPTIED THE CONTACTS ONTO THE GROUND. She told me that they had accidentally both given me a pair of contacts to try, and that I could only have one. Clearly that one extra pair of contacts meant to more to them than good customer service, and they threw those contacts on the ground anyway. Never going back.

I have been going to Dr. Brooks since coming to Charleston for college. He is a very personable, intelligent, and gregarious man. Every visit we talk about a large swath of topics, and his knowledge is extensive in all subjects. I would think he is very good at trivial pursuit. Sherry has been the secretary since I started going as well. She is very helpful in setting up your appointments and paying your bill. She greets everyone with a smile. Belinda was very helpful in helping me pick out the glasses that looked best on me. As a guy, fashion is not my strong suit. She also does a great job explaining about caring for you glasses, and fitting them perfectly to your face. Highly recommend this eye doctor and his staff. Thanks Coastal Eye Care!

The worst experience at a physicians office, Ive ever experienced. In my opinion, this organization does not understand customer service. I went in for a simple contact lens fitting and was charged approximately $500 for a service typically ranging $100-200. According to the insurance company, both insurance and I were charged for the office visit. They did order a lens based on a prescription from another physician and it provided me with blurred vision. The doctor refused to speak with me regarding my concerns per the office manager. I would highly recommend Dr. Lee at Charleston Eye Care, he fit me with an hour while meeting my high standards with excellent customer service, timely and efficient. Charge was as expected.

Dr. Brooks was amazing. I have a very difficult prescription to get right. After years of being disappointed, I had almost given up hope of ever having really clear vision. Dr. Brooks took the time and had the skill to not only give me clear vision with glasses, but with contacts as well. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. I am very satisfied and Coastal Eye Care has earned my loyalty. Take the whole family there, you will be glad you did!
