Last December I was walking one of my dogs on leash in my own front yard and a brand-new neighbors 12-year-old Toy Poodle came charging at us in full attack mode. My dog who is several times larger responded in self defense and I had to pry his jaws off the small dog. I chased down and caught this dog trembling and bleeding from an open leg wound, found my neighbor and we descended on S. Ocala Animal Clinic which was just blocks away, unannounced carrying the injured dog, both the dog and I bleeding from bites. The clinic dropped everything and took us in with zero delay, cleaned, prepped & patched the wound and Doctor Stoothoff called me back that afternoon with the results. The dog went home the next day. I split the charge which considering the need was quite reasonable with my neighbor and the dog soon healed with no complications. I now on the clinic staffs recommendation use a heavy-duty muzzle when walking that one dog, one of five kill-shelter pets I had recently adopted. He is overly friendly with people just has an overdeveloped protective instinct and prey drive regarding other animals. I am so glad the South Ocala Animal Clinic was there when we needed them most. Many would have referred us to the UF ER which is a 20+ min. drive across town with a waiting list and is only open after normal hours. We didnt have hours to wait. That dog is alive and well because of their real-time response to our emergency. They are a rare service indeed. Both my neighbor and I are grateful to Dr. Stoothoff and his able and caring staff.

Awful experience! Veg and vet techs seem like they just got out of school and are clueless. Anytime my dog had an extended stay with them, she came back with a terrible skin infection. First time it happened I kindly paid the $200 bill for them to see her again and provide medication. They blamed it on the shampoo they used and couldnt even tell me exactly what was going on with her. Second time she stayed with them, she came back so bad that my girlfriend was calling me at work crying. I called the vet being as polite as possible. The ladies up front tried to troubleshoot the problem without talking to the vet. I told them I didnt feel like I needed to pay for a visit to have my dog looked at. They said that was not possible and essentially declined any possibility that it could be something on their end. My dog has never had a rash, infection, or been sick other than the two times she stayed with them. Not to mention it was the exact same skin condition both times. Ill never go there again. Far to many other vets in the area with much better reputations.

Ive known Dr. Kevin for a number of years, over 12. He was with me when my first Doberman died. He was so kind, understanding and compassionate, I will never forget it. My present Doberman, Michael will be 12 years old. His health is excellent. He has some arthritis issues and I had the opportunity to talk with Dr Kevin about doing some laser treatments on him. I purchased a series of 6 treatments and did one a week for 6 weeks. When I started the treatments I met Dr Taylor. Im always partial to Dr Kevin but I was confident he wouldnt have him a part of his practice if he wasnt qualified. Well Im thrilled to say how wonderful it is to have 2 knowledgeable and compassionate vets to deal with. Dr Taylor is who started the treatments. He explained everything in detail so I was very informed of what to expect. The laser treatments were a god send for Michael. Prior to treatments he became skiddish on my tile floors, he had difficulty getting up and was hurting. By about the 2nd to 3rd treatment I saw a noticeable improvement. I was thrilled!

Horrible. I called to get prices for my dog because he needed quite a few things done. I was put on hold after telling them I can have his records faxed over because I didnt remember the name of the shot. Another lady came on the phone with an attitude from the beginning and telling me I needed to know the name of the shot because they couldnt help me. I told him all I knew that it was an all around steroid because he has allergies to almost everything and they rose their voice and coped an attitude when I asked what kind of shot they were referring to. Horrible customer service! Got even more of an attitude when I asked how much it would be to get blood work done to find out about this mass our dog has. Why would I want to take my dog to you guys when you cant even speak to a customer over the phone

I went to get Comfortis flea preventive for my dog. The Vet asked me what heartworm preventive I used. He told me my preventive was not labeled for dogs.I told him I and thousands of people have used this preventive for years with no problem. He stated again, it was not labeled for dogs....however he could SELL me a heartworm preventive. (side note** the heart worm preventive he wanted to sell me is made with the same ingredent as the one I use) He refused to sell me the Comfortis flea preventive. I left the office very frustrated. So, I basicly spent $38.00 just to be insulted and have my dog weighed.

I was with this office over 20 years and was happy w/ Dr. Hogen. Now with the new owner the place went down hill. Every time I need meds for my dog he makes me pay 10.00 for a script unless I want to pay him double the price from 1800 pet meds. The last straw was I had my dog in for her yearly check up 5/24/14 with his acc. Dr Lisa now he wont renew her script that he gave her 4 years ago unless I come in for another full exam. Dr Lisa left him and so did I

Long hold times, nasty attitude from the manager can you imagine the visit with the that has no prior experience they send their test to the university out of the state unclear answers to questions. Patricia office manager manager also known as the manager. Bay far far away from this place if you care and love your pet. If I had the opportunity to give them a negative thought I will give them a negative to the 10th power.

We absolutely Dr. Kevin and his staff. Each staff member takes pride in their job and you can tell they love where they work. The environment is calm for the animals, and the Drs take their time to explain everything in great detail and give you all of the options available. We have been to several different vet offices and will only use South Ocala. My husband and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this facility to anyone.

Staff was rude just asked for help to see if an animal was chipped and got the reply sorry we dont have time we want to leave!!! Hopefully they dont treat the animals like they treat humans!!!
