Dropped off my cocker-poo like I always do every 6-8 weeks for grooming plus she needed her annual distemper vaccine. They always ask me which phone number they should contact me and I tell them my home number but they can also try my cell phone if I am not at home. I had dropped her off at 8 am and when I hadnt heard from them by 1pm I called them and found out she had been ready by 10am and they left a message on my cell phone. Never tried to call me on my home phone and because my cell phone is in my purse I didnt hear it. Then when I picked her up I noticed a $12 charge on my bill and I asked what that was and I was told because the tech found fleas on my dog they had to give her a pill that would kill the fleas and protect their environment. I was clearly upset because I know for a fact my dog does not have fleas as I treat her with a flea and tick prevention each month. I have also been going to this vet for over 2 1/2 years and they have never found a flea on my dog. Of course they argued with me and said this was their policy. The next day the tech called me and asked how my dog was doing since she also had the distemper shot and I said fine except I was upset about this pill they gave her. The tech said she was the one who found the fleas and I asked her how many fleas did she find and she said ONE. One flea? So I bet the flea she supposedly found probably jumped off of one of the other dogs in their place and onto my dog and so they get to charge me $12. When I complained her response was "Well if you dont like our policy you can take your business elsewhere"Talk about unprofessional. All I can say I have now found another vet to which I can say I wish I had done this sooner. They have made a number of mistakes with medications as well as just when I had my dogs records being transferred they tried to say I had declined a rabies shot when my dog clearly had her rabies shot in 2013. Then when they got that straightened out they said what I had declined was the rabies tag, which again was not true. If they had noted their records correctly they would have found that the rabies shot for my other dog which is now deceased was the one that Dr. Holbrook and ourselves had decided to not give her the rabies shot because of her age and medical condition. Again another error on their part. I would not recommend this place to anyone. All they think about is money. The only person there I can say I will honestly miss is the front desk girl Deanna. She is by far one of the nicest girls you will ever meet. As for Crystal and Alana they should fire the both of them.

These people care about nothing except the almight dollar. The vet is totally unprofessional and came into the treatment ranting and raving like a complete jerk before he had even done an exam on my dog. He never touched her. Then he sent one of his minions in with a list of the most ridiculous charges I have ever seen. This doctor never looked me in the eye and he is one of the most negative people I have ever met. I have a special needs dog that has undergone years of treatment with specialists and Holbrook (I cannot call him Dr. just because he has the paper) was not interested in her vast medical history and treatment records. He said my dog was infested with fleas & that was her problem. He guaranteed me that he could make my 20 acre farm "flea-free". Wow! When I got home, I combed my dog and she had TWO fleas on her and she probably got those at his office. What a nightmare. Stay away from this guy. He cares nothing for your animals. It is all about lining his coffers. He is just a horrible person, very rude. Also, the staff talked down to me. I am a doctor and have been in animal rescue for over 30 years so I know a bit about disease processes and treatment protocol. Going to this place was a big mistake. Will never go back and my post will hopefully save others from wasting their time and lots and lots of money. Terrible experience. Dr. H.

Dr. Holbrook and his staff have been caring for my 11-year old Pomeranian, Doozie, for five years. Their number one priority is the health of my pet. Whether its a regular check-up or a more serious situation like my dogs recent pancreatitis, or her patella luxation, or her allergies, their top priority is the health of my pet. The staff is friendly. They are accommodating with fitting appointments into my schedule. Upon arrival we are led into an examining room almost immediately, a tech appears to take preliminaries, and the doc is not far behind. Upon examination, the medical condition and treatment recommended are explained in laymans terms that I easily understand. Options for treatments are offered if applicable. I receive follow-up telephone calls checking on my dogs condition during treatment. And Doozie is even sent a birthday greeting every year. Over all, I find Dr. Holbrook and his staff outstanding and would highly recommend Marion Veterinary Hospital to persons who really care about their pets.

Ive been taking Stash here for the past two years and have no plans to take him anywhere else! Ive boarded him (he had a blast and the staff was patient and understanding with me as it was his first time boarding), he also gets groomed here (again no complaints, he comes out with his little nub wagging happily). Dr. Holbrook is the best as he and his staff have worked Stash in when he had an emergency on a Saturday morning and the follow up calls and checking in on him made put a smile on my face. Our regular visits are always quick, easy and informative, they dont do anything without consulting me (the owner) first, which I appreciate! All in all, this is a wonderful vets office with a variety of services to offer any pet owner with a great support staff and a great vet!! I recommend this office to everyone who asks where I go!

I left a previous review in haste and of poor judgement on my part. My Chloe received top notch service from this Vet. They are very cautious and thorough with their testing and exams. If you want the cheapest service possible then try the Marion County Animal Services however if you want your pet to be a part of their family and be treated with the best service, bring them here. They will require a Capstar to be given if ANY signs of fleas are shown, but keep in mind that they also offer pet boarding so this is simply to not contaminate the furbabies that families have entrusted them with. They do all their testing for parasites, heartworms, etc. So you have your results in less than 24 hours. I would say that 4 out of 4 paws recommend! :)

Dr. Holbrook has been caring for our two labs, Bailey and Cole, since they were puppies. He and is staff are pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable. They take great pride in their work and in their AAHA accredited facility, which is always immaculate. Whether were dropping them off for veterinary care, grooming or boarding, we have the satisfaction and peace of mind, that our fur babies are receiving positive interaction and are well cared for. After 9 years, their bodies still wag with excitement when they know that they are going to see their friends at Marion Veterinary Hospital. We wouldnt consider taking them anywhere else. Thank you Dr. Holbrook and staff for helping us keep Bailey and Cole happy, safe and healthy!
