I came to the office on 35th Ave and Peoria the day before yesterday for an XRAY and possible extraction. My first impression was great!! The office was clean, the staff seemed pleasant and even though I showed up early they got me in soon anyway. The dentist left and I was working out payment options with the assistant. He quoted me $150 at first, and I said I was unable to pay that so I would have to wait or find another place as I could not afford that at the moment. He said he would go talk to the dentist (he did this about 3 times) came back and said he got him to say yes to pulling it for $100. My issue was I only had $85 on me. I had called before to see if they could push my appt back by an hour to ensure I was able to pick up my check and they were unable to accommodate that. I asked if they would take a credit card over the phone from my employer, the owner of the company I work for and they said No. I then asked if I could go get my check and come back and they said No, and that if I couldnt do it today the $100 quote would be gone. Then he said I could give him the $85 and come back with the rest and make the appt for a different date. I decided I should just get it and give it to them at once so I could ensure a receipt, an appt, rather than potentially lose any money. They wouldnt wait for me to have anyone bring me the money either. I had no choice as I was just a bit short, so I left, picked up my check, and came back to see if they would still keep my quote, as it was just before then that I was there and the kid said hed note my account. When I arrived with the $100 to give them like they quoted me earlier to see if they would just take the money now and make my appt for a later date the girl at the front desk said "they dont do that". She finally went to talk to dentist. The kid I was working with earlier had the NERVE to say "I was trying to help you out of the goodness of my heart, but because you didnt have the money right then, I cant keep the amount I quoted you for" If you were trying to help me, you WOULD keep the quote, as I am a sick person who needs help. When I asked for an explanation I got told "I authorized the lower quote, not the dentist, I didnt even bother asking him" - So not only did they not care to help or keep their quote, he LIED. As they were laughing, I mentioned I would have to try to find another place because I fought SO HARD, and rushed there in order to keep my $100 quote (I am the mom of a toddler,I support my family ALONE. I work 6 days a week. This tooth has been infected off and on for a year, and finally starting to making me severely sick) that I would have to try and find a cheaper place. They LAUGHED and said if you can to "call them".. THEN he said, and I quote "Think of it like a car dealership..." Excuse me? I WORK AT A CAR DEALERSHIP and even the shadiest of dealerships keep their word on a quote for the SAME day. A CAR IS NOT THE SAME as an infected tooth that could POTENTIALLY KILL YOU! I LEFT THERE FEELING like a number. A sale. A COMMISSION. A COMMISSION for the assistants because apparently they make the decisions. They tell you they "want to help you" really all they care about is "sale" right then. I felt humiliated, most of all I felt sad that this is how patients of theirs are treated; with NO dignity. I found a cheaper place. I found a place that treated me with respect, not like a commission. I am sick. I have money. I just did not have quite enough in THAT moment, but am glad I didnt because I dont want to spend money on a place that treats their patients this way. I HAVE NEVER felt so offended by a medical organization in my entire life. I would pay the same amount originally quoted or more to a place that was willing to work with me, and treat me with respect. My extended family need dental work but I will be DAMN SURE they dont go here. So for less than $20 (at the time) you lost money from me, and my whole family because of how you treat sick people. SHAME on you. Maybe its time for a LESSON IN ETHICS FOR YOUR STAFF!

Please Respond Risas Dental! Im extremely disappointed with Risas Dental. Yes their staff is really friendly and well mannered. The problem is that I got my braces on October 2016 and got FOUR tooth extractions! Yet I didnt have extra teeth, they were all mine in prefect condition! My problem is that Risas Dental is supposed to have better options at a lower price. I have a feeling that they lied to me and my parents that my teeth were going to be pointing out if I didnt get the extractions. There is people that had worse teeth than me and got them fixed with no teeth extractions! My parents did pay all at once and probably they thought we had money so they told us about the extrations. Probably if I went to Western dental my parents would pay more but get me a better treatment. I do have my adjustment in a couple of days and im going to talk face to face with the orthodontist. If I cant fix this problem I would like to talk to my parents about the situation and take this to a higher level.

For someone who hasnt been to a dentist for a very long time, I cannot express enough how much Risas Dental has changed my perspective. Couldnt be any more thankful to the staff for making me feel completely comfortable & doing amazing work on my teeth, I have found a home here at Risas Dental & Im excited to go back. Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming, especially the front desk service. Its quick, easy and affordable. I went in there today for the first time and I came with clean teeth and an appointment to get my braces on the next day! I expected it to take a while for my braces but they adjusted for my difficult schedule and I couldnt be happier.

I want to weigh in with everyone else here. I have had two GREAT experiences with Risas Glendale, Dr. Ryan and ALL the professionals there. They are honest, effective and HIGHLY timely. In my 22 years in Phoenix I have only found two other private practice dentists (one has retired and the other does not take my current insurance) who I can applaud and have had problems with many many practices. In terms of timely, their being open on Sats and till 8PM is amazing and I actually was able to have a walk-in appointment on Mon Oct 5th saving me valuable time! In my humble opinion THESE PEOPLE ARE THE BEST!!!!!

The ortho there is great. Hes nice, always explaining things in depth, and hes efficient. Ive had braces and general work done here. Some of the staff can be rude, especially the general dentist. Im not sure if he naturally has a sarcastic or snarky tone; but from the two times Ive ever spoken to him, hes cut my sentences short and isnt the best when it comes to communicating with patients. Plus, I had to have a second surgery after one of their assistants tightened my chain too tight and it ripped thru my gums...So I guess my point is, they arent the best when it comes to customer service.
