My family had a very special dog. Im sadden with grief, because of the fact, I had to put her down last week. She went to Dr. Roberts a total of 3x. The first visit, was for an upper respiratory infection. At that time, he took notice of a rash under her chin. "And this, I dont know what this is!" were his exact words. I was hoping he would, so it could get tended to. He suspected rotten teeth was the cause, of the respiratory infection, so we made another appointment, to have them removed. Two things, that I did not like...the uncertainty he had, with how many teeth were removed. I questioned, you say 4 to 5, you sound like you dont know. He put his clip board down, to open our dogs mouth and began counting. #2. I called prior to get the total cost, so I could write the check out and just hand it to the secretary. When going to pay, I was told $10 less, compare to what I was told, on the phone. I was given an option, but giving change was not an option. I thought they didnt have the change, taking credit was decided. When the secretary opened her drawer, I noticed a wad of cash. I explained to my father, they trapped us, so we would have to come back. In time the rash under our dogs chin got worse. Her paws and areas, in her face, started to get effected. I tried doing what I could, but gave up and made an appointment, with Dr.Roberts. He gave a shot, to help with the itching and that shot, lead to me, having to put our dog down. I was asked more than once, did he do blood work? I said " No." When taking her to the animal hospital, they discovered she was a diabetic. If blood work was done, he would have known, not to give our dog, that shot. Also within this last visit, to Dr. Roberts, I asked for our dogs nails to be clipped. He lifted her up, with one of his hands, on her vagina. It alarmed me to see that, then I looked at him, then he looked at me. I didnt know what to make, of that. Also within this last visit to him, a cat was his next patient and he made a comment, that he hates cats. This man should not be a Veterinarian and I dont understand why or how the SPCA can trust him, with their animals, they have him tending to or our pets.

This clinic is rather unsettling.... I had called around to numerous animal clinics trying to figure out who could get my 10 yr old dog in the quickest. She has some serious skin irritation. Now, when I talked to this clinic they told me that I had the right to decline procedures and medications due to the costs, as I am a stay at home mom and only working on one income. GREAT! Thats exactly one thing I was looking for. So I ended up taking her to the clinic this week. Not once did he discuss any of the costs except for the appointment fee ($45). He sat there and told us things that he wanted us to try at home for her as he suspected she was allergic to fleas. But not once did he state any costs of the things he wanted us to do. He also proceeded with giving her a shot for itching without even asking our approval. By time we got done and were going to pay for the office visit and the shot, the lady told us it was going to be $200 for the visit, the shot, and the rest of the things he had wanted us to do... now, we were told we could deny anything the doc had wanted to do so we went in with $60 because the visit/ wellness check was only $45. We sat there at the counter and explained to them that we couldnt pay for it all right then and there, and that we would be back for the other things when we had the money. The lady at the counter was really rude about the situation and kept rolling her eyes at us, meanwhile I have a 2 year old running and screaming around the lobby. Well low and behold, the freaking SPCS shows up at my house the day after(thursday) stating we needed to get her medication, and have proof that we paid for it by 2 pm the following day (friday). How do I come up with that money when my boyfriend doesnt even get his paycheck until 8pm friday?! I dont know about this doctor, or the employees.... just not happy with them.

Ive finally had enough of "Dr. Roberts". Over the past few years of being a client he has missed a cancerous tumor that ended up being fatal only because it wasnt caught until months and months later even though I kept bringing her back because she couldnt keep anything down and was lethargic. His bedside manor is total crap and he makes you feel like youve done something wrong every time you bring the animal in. This last time I had ordered the same medicine that HE prescribed for my dog online but they (pet rx) needed his approval to fill the script which he denied. I called and asked what the deal was and they told me that they couldnt authorize a prescription for a dog they hadnt seen in over a year. I then corrected them stating that the dog was in 2 months earlier and this was the script that they had given her (BTW it was an anti-fungal for her ears, Gentizol, not some crazy script by any means). When asked how is that fair to my dog who needs the script for her ears they replied "not my problem, we dont do that". Bottom line the guy didnt want to lose out on the 5 bucks he stood to make on buying from him. Ironically, I had just switched to a new vet who was more than happy to ok the script for me....weird, apparently the new vet isnt concerned with the 5 bucks on a script but are more concerned with whats best for the animal. Bottom line is that this clown shouldnt be managing a fish tank let alone a veterinary clinic, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE I PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT SOONER OR LATER!

Will not be bringing my dog back to this clinic. Brought my dog in because it was sick with stomach issues, and I told the doctor she had diarhea and vomitting and he repeatedly, at least 5 times, told the dog as he was examining her that she was BAD. He kept saying your a bad dog, your bad, your a bad girl, over and over again. My dog understands that and just buried her head in the techs chest. The vet techs seem very unexperienced in my opinion. I asked one of the techs a simple question about worms and she looked at me like I was speaking Japanese. He does not explain things very well, instead of talking to me about the issues, he just mumbles while writing his notes. I had to continually ask the tech "What did he say was wrong with her?". Not very informative at all.

I hope that anyone considering taking a pet to this Dr will read the reviews first and go elsewhere. I took my cat here last Friday and was told she had a respiratory infection. She was given an injection and liquid BAYTRIL. This medication can cause seizures and blindness. She continued to get worse so we called to get her back in. After checking in to this medication we decided not to take her back to this facility. We called to cancel the appointment because I felt that she had been given an overdose of this medication. He insisted that she come back in. He decided this time that it want a respiratory infection...but probably viral. She was sent home.....after charging us for this return visit. My loving cat was dead within 2 hours of leaving the office.
