We were switched to Humana Dental Insurance before our appointments with Dr. Hagen. My husband called to see if Dr. Hagen took Humana Insurance. The office worker said, "Yes." They didnt mention anything about being out of network. I go to my appointment a month later. They said I needed x-rays along with my cleaning. I said, "Okay." Nothing was mentioned about being out of network even though they took our insurance card right when we walked in the door to sign in for the appointment. I get the x-ray and the cleaning. We go to the receptionists desk to pay our co-pay only to find out that it was $105.00. We were perplexed as to why we had to pay so much. The office worker asked another worker why we were paying so much. The other office work said, "Ill explain it to you later, go ahead and charge them and finish them up." My husband and I get in the car and Im really upset that we have insurance and yet we were charged so much money for this appointment. We were only supposed to pay the Humana required co-pay. My husband had an appointment a few days after mine. Before he went we called Dr. Hagens office to find out why we were overcharged. The office worker said that we were out of network. We had no idea what that meant. We called Humana to see if they could explain what was happening. They said that Dr. Hagens office should have informed us that we were out of network. So basically, Dr. Hagens office keeps this tidbit of information within the office so that they can overcharge their patients and still get money from Humana. My husband cancelled his appointment and we will never go back to Dr. Hagen and her deceitful ways of taking advantage of her patients. Had we known we would be charged so much we would have never went to Dr. Hagen in the first place because there are reputable dentist right down the street from our house that take Humana Dental and charge a small co-pay. Whats the point of having insurance if your dentist is going to skim even more from you by being so devious? Shame on you Dr. Hagen, for treating your patients like this.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Jill since 2003. My initial appointment with her and her staff changed how I had for years thought about dentistry. Dr. Jill was honest about my dental health without being judgmental or condescending. She went above and beyond to ease all my concerns and anxieties. She put forth a plan to bring my dental health to where it should be and has never wavered from that plan. Dr. Jills care is done with your best interests in mind. In all the years I have been a patient of hers not once have I ever felt pressured to have care done that was not needed. All my work was explained before hand as to why Dr. Jill felt the work was needed with a full and detailed explanation of what the benefits were not just to my dental health but also to my general health overall. Northwood Dentals entire staff share in Dr. Jills concern for you as a patient. Damar, one of Northwood Dentals oral hygienists, whose care Ive been under for many years, is one of the best. She is as thorough and determined as she can be in making sure your oral hygiene is where it should be. Damar will work with you to keep you on track as what you can do to help yourself in keeping up your oral hygiene while she does her part with professionalism and a genuine personal interest in you as a person! She is one of the best, I feel, in her field. Thank you Damar for your continued care and encouragement. You are a joy to be around. I consider you as a friend as who also takes care of my dental hygiene. I am thankful for finding Dr. Jill all those many years ago and am ever grateful to her and those employed by Northwood Dental for the care they provide. Look forward to, hopefully, many more years of having my care in your hands.

Dr. Jill is the best dentist I have ever had. I am 65 years old with three permanent bridges, more crowns than all the kings and queens combined, and I lost count of the root canals (ouch!). I have been with Northwood Dental for about four seven years now and Dr. Jill is amazing. She is a master communicator and always operates with the highest degree of integrity and honesty. I also cant say enough about Tammy, my hygienist. I see her every six months or so and she is very personable and a true dental professional. The support staff behind the counter are always caring and willing to help. I have recommended Northwood to my family and friends and would recommend this dental practice to anyone who wants superior dental care. So, just and update. I developed an infection in the root of a tooth that one of my bridges is anchored to. This project would have been a gold mine for Northwood Dental: removing the old bridge, doing the root canal and then restoring a new bridge. That job would have run in the thousands of dollars. But for Dr. Jill is not just about making money off peoples teeth. She referred me to a nearby endondtist who was able to save the tooth without removing the bridge saving me thousands of dollars! The person she referred me to was a super professional and even gave me her personal phone number for any post procedure issues. I cant thank Dr. Jill enough for the personal interest and care she has for all her patients. Dont hesitate to refer your friends and family to Northwood Dental. All the folks I have referred to this practice are extremely grateful that I referred them. Thanks!

Northwood Dental is located in a beautiful complex and I had no trouble locating them on first try. When I entered I was immediately greeted by a very personable associate behind the front desk who took my information and said someone would be out to get me shortly. I waited about 5 min’s before a dental assistant came for me. She was also full of smiles and very polite. After some prelim work she informed me the Dentist would be in shortly. I waited 5, 10 min’s at the most for the Dentist who reviewed my chart and began discussing with me what should be done and why. After we agreed on the procedure she began immediately. She was VERY personable and made me feel very much at ease and was very careful not to cause me any discomfort. She kept me informed of what she was doing and even asked if I wanted to see the progress. I was having a cap put on so I declined as I was only concerned with the final result (which I say turned out better than I had imagined). They send email reminders and calls concerning my next appointment. It is very easy to make friends in this Dental facility and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a Dentist. PS. When I first made contact with Northwood Dental I was having some discomfort with my teeth. They squeezed me in the next day to be looked at. I am very pleased with the selection I made with Northwood Dental and I’m sure you will be also. Jack…
