I brought my 9 year old cat into Perrin for pain near the base of her tail/hind legs. She would not let me touch the area as it seemed very painful. I had some sedative pills that another vet location gave me last time so she would be calm enough to handle the next time we went to the vet. I called beforehand to get the go-ahead to give them to her. She came in calm but still very sensitive to that area. I was a walk-in so I did not expect a quick visit however the entire thing lasted almost 3 hours. I was sitting in a private room for nearly 45 minutes before the vet came in saying sorry, there had been an emergency. Im understanding about that... again, I didnt have high expectations for time. I told the vet what was going on and he proceeded to try and touch the area and then she recoiled. Thats all he did as far as an examination... He was there a grand total of 5 minutes, didnt look, barely touched and then told me wed have to get xrays for more information. That 5 minutes cost $57. They told me shed need more sedative despite me having already given her some. That cost another $82. The two xrays they got showed nothing which was another $161. They gave her a shot of cortisone and said to watch her over the next few days. Basically with military discount everything was $305. I bring up the cost because, for one, it was outrageous and UNNECESSARY. The vet did not do a proper examination and after a couple days my cat let me close enough to see what was going on. She was bleeding and had an ulcerated lesion. Turns out she had Eosinophilic Disease. No wonder nothing turned up on the xray. There is no excuse for not doing a proper examination. While manners were nice it doesnt make up for the lack of attention. Very overpriced for zero care at all. Just another person that was tagged as someone who would get a very expensive xray in attempt to care for her cat. This place is pointless, will not give thorough or proper care and is overpriced. Im extremely livid over this experience and its just another case pushing me further away from vets. They all seem to be out for just money and not the well being of the animal.

Dr. Ramsey is really wonderful. My dog was diagnosed with hemangeosarcoma, and he gave me a realistic view of what to expect--his professional and personal opinion--both of which I valued so very much. Even though I decided to not amputate my dogs leg, I had possible regrets about it and asked Dr. Ramsey his thoughts. He reassured me it is my decision, but suggested to get ultrasounds first, since we were not aware if the cancer spread to the abdomen area. I did that--very reasonably priced and convenient. Unfortunately, tumors were found in those areas, which resulted in my decision to not amputate. Dr. Ramsey was so compassionate, in a true professional and personable way, and reassured me we would keep my dog as comfortable as possible until the time came for him (my dog). One of the greatest things about Dr. Ramsey is that this was my first limited time seeing him, and he remembered me, my dog, and our story. He spent time with my dog and me, explaining everything. He called me to explain the results as soon as they came in, walked me through my options. I normally go to another veterinarian and came to Dr. Ramsey because of the rave reviews people give about his expertise on specialized issues (including my own vet who has referred people to him!). He remembered the smallest details that just came up in conversation (like, I would be unable to come on a certain day because I had an interview out of town....who remembers that?!). This shows he LISTENS, something paramount to this profession. There are a couple staff members who were very sweet (maybe Julie and Sam. And Brian who happily helped me put my dog in the car each time, with such care). The vet tech was compassionate and always kind and smiling. Mind you I literally only went to this animal hospital I think a total of 4 times in a month, but this was a great experience I wanted to share with you all.

Upon arriving I was greeted with inattentive staff, they were on their phones clearly not working most of the waiting time. My dog was vomiting and defecating blood, and no one seemed to bat an eye. After being placed in an exam room and continuing to care for my sick dog, I waited for another 30 minutes before a tech came in to take a temp and get some information. The techs were friendly, but I heard all of their weekend plans and friendly banter from the exam room while my dog was in pain. Finally after my dog vomited for the third time, I impatiently insisted to see the vet immediately. When she came into the exam room, she took about 2 minutes examining my dog, and told me she needed X-rays and labs, after asking a few questions. I never found her compassionate or assuring. We agreed on a course of action, after returning to the exam room from allowing my dog to go outside and vomit again, I was greeted with a $500.00 bill to have 3 X-rays and few other test that might as well have been hieroglyphics, I explained I would need to speak with the vet again because it was expensive and wanted to proceed with priority. The vet became very impatient with me after asking her as an expert what her recommendations were. I will admit I was being a bit assertive and impatient, however looking back I dont felt I had any reason to feel reassured or comforted. I immediately paid what I owed for the consult and left. I took my dog to get a second opinion at Becker Animal Hospital, not only were they more professional and confident, they were empathetic to my anguish and budget. It was well worth the 15 minute drive. The test and treatment plan they created came out to over $100 less than what they unexplainably quoted at this establishment. I was very anxious and didnt find comfort in the care given here at all.

This place only cares about money!!!!!! They do not care about animals. My husband took a kitten that he found that had a broken leg and was in very bad shape. They took the kitten to the back and 1 minute later they said yes his leg is broken we can do a "good Samaritan" and put him to sleep at no charge. My husband asked what the options were and the girl at the front desk didnt know. She offered an assessment that cost 49 dollars so he agreed because he wanted to help the kitten if possible. The doctor assessed the kitten and told him it was dying and would cost a large amount of money to try to help it but it may still die. So my husband said to put it out of its misery. After 15 min of waiting they brought him a bill for 180 dollars. They told him that since he agreed to the assessment he was taking ownership of the animal and now they cant put the animal to sleep for free. He told them to send him a bill because he didnt have any money on him. They refused and told him they could lower the amount if he took the animal after it was dead to bury it. He asked again to just bill him but they wouldnt. He was furious, meanwhile the kitten was still suffering. Then they offered to give the kitten back in the same condition, which was a broken leg, internal bleeding and hypothermic. He was absolutely appalled and walked out. They called two hours later and left a message that we had a bill and that nothing had been done to the kitten it was still suffering. What an inhumane and awful place. They should not be allowed to stay in business. Why anyone would want to work at a place like that is beyond me. Awful Awful Awful. They should be ashamed. Horrible people. Absolutely disgusting.
