Golden Paws is hands down the best animal hospital I have ever been to. Dr. Sam and his wonderful staff- Chris and Amy, are the most caring and compassionate care givers. My husband and I were new to Golden and did not yet have an established vet here when our 12 year old black lab Reese became ill. I found Golden Paws and based on their excellent reviews, I called to set up an appointment. They were very friendly on the phone and let me bring Reese in right away, without charging me any kind of “emergency” vet fee. Dr. Sam was so kind and gentle with her, and then he was extremely compassionate as he had to give me the dreadful news that she had lymphoma. He went over the treatment options with me, but never made me feel pressured to choose any one route. Over the next two months, we continued to see Dr. Sam as he provided treatments and monitored Reese’s progress. Dr. Sam, Chris, and Amy were so kind to us every visit as we were going through this difficult time. When the dreaded time came, Dr. Sam & Chris came to our house on extremely short notice. We were devastated, but they were professional, caring, and patient with us as our sweet pup crossed the rainbow bridge. I can’t imagine going through this most difficult of situations with any of the impersonal vets I had been to in the past. Once we are ready to adopt another pup, we will definitely return to Golden Paws. The facility is nice and clean. They will go above and beyond to fit you into their schedule. Their communication is amazing. During an appointment, Dr. Sam displays the services, medications, ect. that he is providing on a screen so that you can clearly see the costs. After each visit, Dr. Sam sends an email with his “Golden Three Messages”, which includes a summary and follow up notes based on the appointment. Above all, you can tell that they really care about your furry friend. I simply can’t recommend them enough!

I am so grateful to have found Dr. Sam Lane, Dr. Geri Lake-Bakaar and Amy. One of my pups has several heart issues and we see Dr. Geri Lake-Bakaar as his cardiologist (she is AMAZING!). We have been to several cardiologists through the years and Dr Geri is by far our favorite. Dr. Geri recently teamed up with Dr. Sam so she can see patients in his office, so I decided to also see him (she highly recommended him) for some other non-heart related questions I had for my pup. I even ended up bringing my 2 other pups so that I could get all 3 updated on vaccines and overlooked. Dr. Sam and Amy were so friendly, personable and welcoming. Dr. Sam didnt make me feel rushed and was great at explaining everything going on and answering all my questions. We will now be coming to Golden Paws solely for all 3 of my pups. They were very flexible with our time and the fact I added 2 dogs on to the appontment at last minute. Dr Geri and Dr Sam are both so great with communication. Both have offered email options which is huge for me since its the best way for me to communicate. If you need a general practitioner vet, Dr Sam Lane is your guy and if you need a cardiologist, Dr. Geri Lake-Bakaar is your gal. I highly recommend both - and I drive from Denver DU area to see them (and its worth the drive). Thank you to the Golden Paws and Pulse Veterinary teams for caring for my 3 little pups!! They are my heart.

Everything about my experience with Golden Paws Animal Hospital was first rate - from the facilities, to the way I was treated as a customer, to the quality of care my cat received as a patient. My cat had to undergo oral surgery and I was very concerned about the procedure. I was impressed with Dr. Sams approach to assessing her and handling her in the office - very thorough and caring. He and his team spent a lot of time discussing treatment options, answering my questions, and telling me about the newest treatment protocols for anesthesia. They were also up front about costs (which doesnt always happen). They did an excellent job on the surgery, and followed up throughout the day, and post-op, to insure she was healing correctly. This is an excellent veterinary facility and Im lucky (and relieved) I found them. Check them out if you want the best care for your pet! I know Freida is very happy!

Dr Sam is a kind and thoughtful Doctor. We were in Colorado and needed to board the two dogs we had with us. We needed a Bordetella Shot and we normally live in California and have our vet there. Everyone we called wanted to give the dogs an exam in addition to the shots. He said that he would give the shots only, but when we brought them in for the shots, he gave them a general look over as well as the shots and did not charge us for them. After boarding, one of our dogs had stress diarrhea from boarding. We called Dr. Sam and he was leaving in the afternoon for a vacation trip, but fit us in before he left, then followed up with an email with the results of the tests. You will not find a more caring individual, and though we understand he has to make a living also, you do not feel that his first concern is about money and what he can sell you.

Dr. Sam and Lisa were so wonderful and patient when they made a home visit for my 13-year-old cat, Rosie. I opted for a home visit for a physical because she gets car sick. Unfortunately, Rosie didnt exactly show her best side, but Dr. Sam and Lisa were so calm and understanding, even going over to the floor where Rosie had retreated to, to listen to her heart and administer her vaccines. They make the process simple by bringing their equipment and requiring nothing more of you than clearing off a table. Dr. Sam took his time, listened to my concerns, gave great insight and advice, and asked multiple times if I had any other questions for him to address. I couldnt ask for more in a vet. Thank you!

Our family just discovered Golden Paws and Dr. Sam following an attack on our small dog. Our previous vet was out of town and we needed care immediately. Fortunately, he was able to save our little dog after a great deal of thorough and thoughtful evaluation and treatment of his injuries. I was so impressed with the warmth and calm feeling of the staff and the professionalism of Dr. Sam that I decided to switch all of our four animals ( 2 cats, 2 dogs) to this practice for their routine care. Also, we feel their pricing is very reasonable compared to many vet practices. I highly recommend this practice for either routine or emergency care. Thanks Dr. Sam!

Just switched vets in attempt to find someone local for our aging pup. So far, so great! Dr. Sams philosophy of care is sound, his prices are reasonable and his clinic is far more modern than others! In our visit, he ran both a routine blood panel and a cell test on a weird lump. In that same visit he reviewed the lab results and showed me live, using a microscope camera, the cells he pulled from the lump and what it meant. Dr. Sam saved me the days of stress and worry from this small service alone! I cant recommend Golden Paws enough to the residents of Golden - support your local businesses and make the switch the Golden Paws. You wont regret it.
