I brought a stray dog that I found on the corner of Fayette and Wolfe badly injured with a broken leg, matted fur, underweight... this list goes on. I was very clear with the staff from the get go that I did not have much money but wanted to do the most humane thing I could afford for this dog. I didn not know if that meant trying to save her or putting her down and I was looking for guidance from the vet. The little money grubber proceeded take a culture for ring worm and blood tests and then wrote up a two day care plan that totaled over $1100.00. When I told her I could not afford it and asked her if she had any other ideas of what I could do for this dog she said that she did not know, but to fix this dog would probably cost over $5,000.00, She was obviously and inexperienced vet with no real idea of the plight of animals on the Baltimore streets.I paid for the useless tests and for the dog to be left overnight so that she could be safe and on pain medication and planned to take the dog to be euthanized at the SPCA the next day. When I called in the morning the receptionist told me that one of the owners had pulled some strings and the SPCA was coming to pick up the dog. I was so releaved and felt better about my experience. Then I got a call at 1pm from Eastern wondering when I was coming to pick up my dog. It took me over 4 phone calls, being put on hold for long periods of time, and a lot of yelling to be able to talk to the administrator about what was going on. It is a very long story but in the end the kind administrator offered to have to dog euthanized on the premisis for free. I am greatfull to her for her compassion for this animal. However I will never return to Eastern Animal Clinic because of the horrible ordeal that me and this suffering stray went through at the hands of an inexperienced and greedy vet.

Always a wonderful experience. Great staff, Love Dr.King and Dr.McMichael, both super friendly and genuinely care and want whats best for you AND your pet. Only had issues with one doctor, Dr. Molinelli. she spoke over me multiple times, made many excuses, didnt tell me certain things cost extra (when they cost A LOT) and made assumptions about things I would want to do because she suggested them; never confirming that I wanted to proceed with them. I genuinely felt like she wanted to help, but also really needed to meet a sales quota or something. I mean she really emptied out my bank account and then some. But Robert the client care supervisor called me to hear my side of the story (after I told one of the girls at the desk over the phone) and he really heard me out and genuinely apologized and made sure my appointments will never get directed to that doctor. Their customer service is amazing. The vet techs always love all over my dogs and use sweet baby voices with them, theyre gentile and patient even though my dogs are pretty darn wiggly when getting examined. I just love it there. I mean, they can be a bit expensive but I really think you get what you pay for. The extra bit you pay for each service goes into running the business so well. The lovely waiting room, all of the attentive employees, etc. I definitely think its worth it (Even though Ill totally buy my prescriptions online haha) But if you care about giving your pet great care rather than the cheapest care (which you should if you have pets, otherwise you should get your priorities straight), EAH is definitely a great choice.

Yesterday, during the snowstorm of the year, our dog got incredibly sick and needed to be brought in immediately for possible emergency surgery. Eastern Animal Hospital was one of the ONLY veterinary offices open in the area and we were so thankful that our vet, Dr. Brand, was in as well. We got in right away and Dr. Brand was so sweet with our dog who was clearly in pain. She ran through our options after x-rays and explained every last detail to us for about 20 minutes. She took the time to explain all of our options and helped us come to a decision. The whole experience was the BEST that it possibly could be in this situation. Its frustrating to me that all of the negative reviews about EAH are based around money. Medical care for your pet is EXPENSIVE. When owning a pet (much like having children) there are always going to be medical costs involved and you should be prepared to pay them (I have pet health insurance and its going to save me about $4500. Its worth the $38.50/month...trust me). Why would you want to go somewhere cheaper? Isnt that telling you something about the quality of the medical care, veterinarians, and staff there? If your child were sick, would you shop around for the cheapest doctor and then take them there? I sure hope the answer would be no. EAH is an excellent facility with an even better team of medical professionals.

Unbelievably Expensive! I have been taking my dog there for a few years because its close to my home, but it seems to cost more and more with each visit. For example I took my dog there last year and they charged me over $500 just to treat a simple ear infection (1 shot, 2 medications, and exam). I had also taken him there a few times in previous years for dry, itchy skin, spent a TON of money, been prescribed numerous medications, and none of it improved his condition, so I basically wasted all that money. It was only after I took him to a different vet the problem was correctly diagnosed and solved. The final straw was when he recently contracted another ear infection and they refused to authorize an order from 1800 PetMeds for the same antibiotic they prescribed before, because they wanted me to bring him in and charge me another $500 to tell me what I already know. The dog is prone to a specific type of ear infection, and the same medication has been used to treat it every time. There was really no need for an examination other than to get more money out of me. Another vet I ended up taking him to confirmed it was exactly what I thought, and charged me less than half. Ill never go there again, and I would recommend you avoid this place like the plague unless youre really desperate, or extremely rich.

My cat lived to be 21 years old. For all but 2 of those years - when I lived in Vermont - I took her to Eastern Animal Hospital. From the front desk/triage people to the vet techs to the Veterinarians, and even including the owner, they were all unfailingly supportive. Puddz got her regular care there, was treated for diabetes – twice (she overcame it the first time) – had her share of illnesses treated there, boarded there and finally, was euthanized there. At all times, I felt that she was in caring hands, that she was treated with empathy and dignity, as if she belonged to any one of them. They are a group of people who absolutely love animals. Dr. Jamie Molinelli was Puddzs regular vet, and I cannot say enough good things about her. However, there were times when Dr. Jamie was away, and other vets filled in for her. ALL of them treated Puddz with caring and dignity. Dr. MacIntyre was on duty the day I had to say goodbye to my companion, and the process there is compassionate and supportive. It hurts to say goodbye, but they made it as peaceful as is possible. Finally, I was never made to feel that any concern I had was unimportant. I don’t think anyone could ask for more.
