Im so grateful for this practice. Do NOT let bad reviews turn you away. After not very good experiences with my previous vet i decided i needed to change vets for my pets. Ive been looking and looking, asking for recommendations and what not. I always drive by Extra Care Animal Hospital and so on Thursday when i needed to take my Penelope to a vet i decided to just give it a try. Dr. Dell cared for Penelope and was very thorough, very kind hearted and such a warm person, so very patient with all my concerns and questions. I left Penelope there for a few hours so they can run some tests and when i came back it was so nice to see how comfortable Penelope was around Dr. Dell and the staff, this is a huge deal because Penelope is always scared and uneasy when Im not with her. A day later Dr. Thannum called me to give me Penelopes results and i can tell you i have never ever had another doctor explain results to me so thoroughly and clear as Dr. Thannum did. For once i did not feel rushed to where i didnt understand anything. She took her time and LISTENED to everything i had to say without interrupting me or talking over me or any sarcasm; something all other vets have always done and trust me when i say that, i have 4 pets and Ive seen soo many vets. She told me what the next step was and its good to have a straight path in which i know what the problem is and what the next step is. No confusion at all. I had the pleasure to meet Dr. Thannum today and she is as good as it gets. Im happy and tranquil to finally say that i have found my permanent veterinarian for all my pets. SO PLEASE IF YOURE LOOKING FOR REVIEWS, DO NOT LET THE BAD REVIEWS TURN YOU AWAY... I AM TELLING YOU AS A PICKY WORRIED PET MOM...GO SEE DR. THANNUM.

I have been going to ECAH for at least the last 8 years. When my dog Bo was having problems with his heart and arthritis they were able to diagnose and make suggestions to help him get around easier. They were there for him until his last waking moment and then some. Now a little while later Dr. Thannum and the entire staff are dealing with my golden retriever mix puppy. He tends to get nervous in the car unless he knows he is going to see Dr. Thannum or Barkham park. Those are the only two places he runs to the car to go! I love Dr. Thannum and her staff s the best most caring group that I could ever wish to care for my furry children. If you ever need anything just call office Dr. Thannum will call you back if she cant get to the phone when you call. They are very accommodating to your needs and your pets needs.

I brought my 6 month old Boston Terrier to Extra Care for her spay, and she died the next day. Yes, died! While I do think Dr Thannum cares about animals something obviously went terribly wrong. Now I have a $2000 bill, no real explanation about what happened, and no dog. Ive been called repeatedly by Dr Thannum and/or her receptionist for the last week about payment, and I was not even given an invoice. I didnt even know what I was being charged for until I asked to see a detail of charges. Everyone says dont pay the money, the dr should take some responsibility, get an attorney, etc. I mailed a check for the full amount because Im just ready to put this horrible experience behind me. My dog was my baby, and I can honestly say this has been the worst ordeal Ive ever had to go through!!!

Five Stars is not nearly enough. There are no words for the group of some of the most caring individuals we’ve come to know at Extra Care Animal Hospital. Although we have a very heavy heart at the passing of our beloved Cocker Spaniel, Brandy, we thank this team starting with Dr. Jodi Thannum, Christian Diaz, Tacari Jones, and many others, that assisted throughout the years, and allowed us to enjoy Brandy’s full life in spite of her many health conditions. The sincere care and love they all provided right up to her final days was overwhelming and we will never forget you. You will all share a very special place in our hearts with Brandy. I started working at Extra care Animal Hospital a couple weeks ago, but i have known Dr. Thanum for about 15 years. She is a family friend, a great person and a true animal lover. The only veterinarian I have ever worked for that actually cares more about the patients health and happiness more than anything else. Every animal that comes in is treated like a star and is cared for like our very own. I dont know where you can find that same kind of care for your furry children than here! Thanks for being a great doctor to your patients and also to work for.

My wife and I have been bringing our dog Maui to this doctor for many many years like seven to be exact. she is a beautiful pitbull with a brain of a very very smart person and I must say shes smarter than most. we will only bring our dog to this doctor because shes loving and it shows when she walks into the room. Other vets are nowhere near as caring about their clients. The customer service and follow ups are terrific. I strongly suggest this vets office. Located right off 595 its only ten minutes from anywhere !!

I love my job! I started about 3 years ago and I wouldnt trade it for anything else. Dr. Thannum is by far one of the BEST doctors that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She is extremely knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate towards animals! As well as her staff. Dont take your furry friend anywhere else. If you need a great vet who knows what theyre doing and loves what they do, then look no further! Come and see us!!!!! We cant wait to meet you!

Ive been going to this hospital for years with my pets and they are true professionals. I have no complaint about them at all. They also specialize in exotic animals. I have ferrets and not all vets know how to deal with them. Dr. Rupp now has him own place called Animal House Veterinary Hospital and he is the one that takes care of the ferrets. X-Tra Care no longer does but they are still great. I really recommend them.
