When I reached Levin Family Dental I was in despair. Last fall, I decided to put on veneers to correct a minor misalignment of my front teeth and maybe get also a fuller smile. As I already had a dentist in Windsor, CO, I checked with him about putting the veneers or referring me to another specialized professional. He confidently told me that he himself was capable of doing the job. At the time, I had no reason to believe otherwise, he had been my dentist for almost 10 years. Unfortunately, it turned to be one of the most regrettable decisions of my life. After several long appointments of teeth preparation, pain, high sensitivity, gum inflammation, 2 times wearing gruesome temporaries, and a worse result than were my teeth before the cosmetic dentistry intervention, I decided I needed to look for another professional opinion and a possible new intervention to fix all the asymmetry and disproportionality he had left my teeth with. When I called Levin Family and explained Elisabeth everything, she immediately took action and arranged me a consultation with Dr. Jennifer Derse. At the time of the consultation, Dr. Jenn at Levin Dental, gave me a lecture on how the process of veneers should happen to avoid all the problems that I had been through. She explained me about all the meticulous measurements (face, mouth, and gum) they would have to make to ensure precise results. After that, she would send these results to a Lab (that meet specific standards), and they would send back temporaries that should be almost identical to my new permanent veneers. The reason for putting on temporaries, she told me, is for the patient to get used with the veneers and to point out some possible desirable changes on the design. In my prior experience, the other dentist said he was not going to do any temporaries; he would prefer to do everything on the same day: prep 8 teeth, fabricate, design, craft 8 veneers and place them. Yes, you read right, he didn’t use a specialized Lab to fabricate the veneers; he did them in his office. This was the reason my teeth got ugly asymmetrical results. He wasn’t able to finish 8 teeth in one day as he promised me. His machine, which fabricates the veneers, stopped working and he had to put me on temporaries he crafted by hand at the time. After 3 more long visits and another time with temporaries, I concluded he had no clue about what he was doing. After examining my mouth on the first consultation with Dr. Jennifer, at the Levin family, she told me that under those circumstances, she would have to start a new treatment (from scratch) to fix all the wrong doings. Besides, in the middle of the new treatment with Dr. Jenn at Levin family, she discovered all sorts of problems: teeth were aggressively prepped into the dentin, all had open margins, bulk results with excess cement, cement gaps, gingiva very irritated and bleeding due to irritation from margins, decay was found on tooth 7, another teeth (10) had died (pulpal necrosis of the roots) – which required a canal treatment with another Endodontist. My last visit for the aesthetic treatment (veneers) at Levin Dental was on Tuesday, Feb 21st. My new veneers now reach the results that I was looking for in the beginning of this whole thing. I wish I could attach along with this review pictures of my teeth before any treatment, plus my pictures of teeth treated by the other dentist in Windsor and also the pictures of my teeth now treated by Dr. Jenn at Levin Family; so you could judge by yourselves that my horror cosmetic dentistry story had, at last, a happy end. I am very grateful for finding Dr. Jennifer Derse and to the whole family of the Levin Dental. Thank you so much for the professionalism and expertise. More than that, thank you so much for helping me to smile openly and confidently again. You guys are awesome!

Poor customer service. My daughter, who is a senior in college, was using this practice for some general work. When she originally called them to see if they were part of my insurance companys network she was told they were. Six months after the work was done I received a bill from their office for an unsettling amount of money. I called and spoke to a young lady in the office and explained to her that I had spoke with my insurance company and that the claim may have been submitted wrong and that they needed to re-submit the claim. I also stated that I would not be the responsible party, my insurance company would be. Now we fast forward to September, I receive a phone call from my daughter stating that she had just gotten off the phone with a young lady from the office stating that she owed this money to them and how would she like to pay it. My daughter of course told them that they needed to call me, they refused because they stated that I was not the responsible party she is. This is where they get off track. The young lady decided it was ok to lecture my daughter on how at her age she needed to take responsibility because she has a son her age who obviously was more responsible than her and that she would either pay the money by the 15th of October or it was going to collection and they would ruin her credit. Her mother then gets involved in the conversation and reiterates that they need to contact me since it is my insurance, they again tell them no, it s not my responsibility. When I called the supervisor and spoke with her on Monday to find out what was going on, I was a little shocked to find out that she was there when this conversation with my daughter transpired and was not apologetic whatsoever about the other ladys actions, furthermore was very dismissive when I informed her my daughter would no longer be using this practice. I know they are running a business and the purpose of a business is to generate and collect revenues, I too am a business person. However, there should always be some level of professionalism and courtesy when dealing with your customers, especially when trying to collect a debt. I, like any parent, do not want my children exposed to rude, uncaring people in their healthcare environment. It is too bad, as my daughter did state that the dentist himself was very good. My only advise to them would be to ensure the staff they hire to interact with their patients would be easier to communicate with and show a little more desire to resolve an issue rather then let clients leave.

I was always the little girl who had some kind of dental or orthodontic contraption in her mouth. I grew to fear the dentist on some level as an adult. For the last 20 years I went to the same family dentistry office in Longmont, CO. Not one for change, once I moved to Denver for college, I continued to go to said Dentists Louisville practice. Well, living now in Centennial these last few years, the prospect of driving over an hour to be filled with anxiety at getting my teeth cleaned was not an exciting one. I finally realized I needed to find a new Denver-based dentist when i tried to get an appointment at my Lousiville Dentist and they couldnt fit me in for another 4 months after I had to cancel my initial appointment due to a blizzard. So I finally took myself to Yelp as I always do and typed in "Dentist in Denver". As I read through the results, I came across top reviews for a practice called "Levin Family Dental". Once I verified they took my insurance I was highly anticipating the first appointment at a brand new Dentist. Upon calling to set up said appointment the receptionist was instantly friendly, warm and easily receivable over the phone. My husband and I filled out our Dental forms prior to our appointment and they were able to get us both in on the same day, a month later. Upon my arrival, I found their offices to be welcoming, comfortable and very stylish. My appointment was exactly on time, and a lovely dental hygienist named Ann gave me a tour of the facility. Once in my dental room, she sat me down in a well-decorated room (complete with a "Welcome Krystal" chalk sign) and went over my chart. I have had expansive work done in my mouth; mostly orthodontia and teeth pulling, and she discussed my Dental anxiety. I felt comfortable and had no anxiety during my appointment. The Hygienists are very professional but also personable and friendly. Ann went over every tool and process prior to each section of the x-rays, cleaning, etc. Once the cleaning was complete, Dr. Jen arrived and as equally friendly and warm. Overall, I would highly recommend this facility. They are professional, timely, friendly, caring, and leave you as a patient feeling happy. Which, lets be honest, leaving a Dentist happy is great, but knowing I won;t have anxiety upon my next appointment is even better :-)
