I had the sickening experience of bringing my best friend in this nasty place once and after seeing how awful the vet was to him Ill never go back. We paid our bill and walked away. Ive never seen a vet not even look or pet a dog! I knew right away he was evil. My concerns were confirmed when a friend took her puppy in because he wasnt feeling well. They did an x ray and said he was fine. The next day he had a wooden skewer sticking out his side! Then they charged for another x ray and tried to defend the fact they didnt see 2 wooden skewers in his belly! They got nasty with her when she asked why it wasnt found the first time! Then they brought the puppy into surgery without her signing any paperwork or discussing anything with her first. Pretty sure thats against the law to preform surgery without consent. Kind of like bringing your car to a mechanic and him replacing your motor without asking or telling you!!! Let me tell you all how a real vet deals with these things: we recently had to have a major liver surgery on our dog at wheat ridge animal hospital and they sat us down and discussed the cost of every scenario and possible thing that could happen, then they had us sign and pay up front before he even went into surgery! Thats how a real vet deals with people and furthermore they got down on the floor with our dog and loved on him like he was there own! DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! GO TO WHEAT RIDGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL FOR ANY EMERGENCYS YOU HAVE!!!!!!

I had the most terrible and traumatic experience with this vet office. I brought my dog in as an emergency with a runny nose, confusion and pain. The vet tech came in and did an exam first and noticed that the left eye did not react to the light and was fully dilated. The vet came in and asked me if she was blind and I said no. Nothing else was mentioned on this note. I asked for an estimate on treatment because like everyone else I am paycheck to paycheck. I leave with my dog with the vet telling me she had a sinus infection and her liver enzymes were spiked. Put her on antibiotics, and liver saver pill and a pain killer due to the high pain level she was in. The vet told me to have her rechecked in 3 weeks. meanwhile my dog dies of a nasal tumor 3 days later and I find out that this "vet" had recorded a cranium issue in her file as a possibility but never told me. I talk to the vet and she told me there was not evidence to support the tumor theory and that "to be blunt. You sounded like you didnt have any money". Why was it written down in her file if there was no evidence to support the theory??? I called and talked to the practice manager who told me I was just emotional due to my dog passing and that she feels that they did nothing wrong so I guess I sound emotional and poor. Never even said sorry or offer to refund me any of the the very OVER priced bad treatment my dog received. End story - GO DOWN THE HILL FOR EMERGENCY CARE! Worth the drive.

I am new to this area and so I did not know where to take my cat when he began hurting and being withdrawn. Unfortunately I took my cat to another vet in this area and when I left their office I was told that all was fine, got him home and he was breathing very labored, called them back and they told me that he would be fine in the morning, just was a little excited from the office visit. I explained his gums were purple, his mouth very cold and breathing very hard, I was told that a cats mouth always seems cooler to us and she would check back with me in the morning. When I called them the 2nd time (their after hrs number), there was no answer or forwarded number to call. I rushed to Evergreen Animal Hospital and there was really very little Dr. Stephen could do, but they give my cat oxygen, allergy medication (seems he had either an allergic reaction from the first vets office or he presented with an allergic reaction). If the first vets office had listened to his lungs, we would know if he was allergic, but they stated they couldnt hear his lungs clearly since there was purring!! So the deed was left for Dr. Stephen to do and he did his best. I knew he was frustrated that the cat was in his hands at this point in time and not earlier when he could have probably saved his life. I will bring my pets here from now on and not ever go back to the other vet down the street. So sad, missing my Sampson.

Evergreen is a pet lovers area; As a long time Evergreen resident, pet owner and pet lover, myself I choose a different vet service in the area. My experience with the Evergreen animal hospital the 24 hr vet service was not only unprofessional, I was also bullied by the owner Dr. Terry Stephens, and his staff. Not to mention Dr Stephens was more concerned with covering his staffs tracks, rather then tending to the patient in need. Based on how I was treated, I encourage everyone to take the extra mile and head to Wheat Ridge 24 hour emergency if they need emergency vet services. Also I would encourage people and pet lovers to use a different vet service in the Evergreen area, the prices are sky high and the service is subpar at this facility. After reading serveral reviews, I realize that the service being provided is that of theft, judgement and public slander. Rather than care for our furry friend, I thought medical providers took an oath, Dr Terry Stephens doesnt seem to uphold his medical oath. Also his staff seems to have the same moral. Oh and to the rebuttal master on here, no one cares, you actually further prove the point that this is a horrible vet facility. 1 Awful experience, Ive told over 10 people - imagine that ripple effect.

I have never written a review in my life but feel compelled to share our bad experience with this business to other customers and potential customers. First, we took our dog in for an emergency surgery and the surgery was delayed two days. Our dog was in sever pain for the entire time while we had to wait patiently for the scheduled surgery. Second, after the surgery, on the follow up appointment to take the rod out, the doctor looked at the X-Ray and said the leg should be ready but we should wait 2 more weeks to be safe. $190 for an X-Ray. Third, on the next visit, the doctor said his leg should have more time to heal after looking at X-Rays again. $ 190 for an X-Ray. Why would ever agree to almost $ 400 in X-Ray bills for nothing to be done?? We would have scheduled the rod to be taken out months later as it doesnt hurt him to have it in anyway. Fourth, customer service is terrible. With this surgery, follow-ups, and annual checkups for two dogs, we have visited over 10 times (including pickup and drop-off) over the past year. We consistently have a long wait time, many times upwards of an hour! It makes visiting a doctor seem easy!
