I have been going to Westlake for 11 years. Both of my pets have seen a total of three different vets there and I highly recommend all of them. Dr. Ojeda and Dr. Morgan are the two I have seen in recent years. I would recommend either of these doctors. Dr. Morgan is absolutely amazing. She is honest, compassionate, friendly and loving towards my pets. My pets have been treated as good as I would treat them. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Morgan. I noticed one negative review about Westlake; Im sure that person had his/her reason but I want to assure you if you are reading this that I would take my animals nowhere else. I know it can be hard to put your trust in a new vet, but I wanted to take the time to write a review in order to help others who may not be sure where to take their pet(s). If you are in search of a great vet with staff that are equally caring and friendly, I highly recommend Westlake. I also want to share my experience regarding my family pet which had to be put to sleep last year in 2012. I understand that one person who wrote a review had a terrible experience and my heart goes out to that person. I, too, had a dog put to sleep and I can tell you that there is NO place else I would chosen. All the staff knew my situation so each time I called I was greeted with compassion and kindness. I didnt have to tell the story over and over every time I called. That made a huge difference. The company that Westlake uses allowed me to call them to ask any questions I wanted. They are a husband and wife team and they also love animals. For such a terrible loss, I have to tell you that I would choose no other staff, no other doctor than Dr. Morgan, and no other place to handle the last days of your pets life if you are facing a decision such as this one. I hope my post will reassure you that this is a wonderful vet and an amazing group of people that truly love animals. I have had nothing but positive experiences over the last 11 years.

I have been going to Westlake Animal Hospital since 2007. I LOVE this place. Most staff at vets offices are kind and caring, but this place- they treat each other like family and it comes across in the way they treat your pets. From the minute you walk in the door you are greeted with smiles and patience and caring. I have mostly seen Dr. Geegan with my 3 dogs, but yesterday I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Hassel. Hes just as funny, witty, caring, and kind as Dr. G. They both have a very dry sense of humor that can calm you when you are worried about your little one. They will also advise you and explore every possibility of what ails your pet if its within your budget, while also not trying to talk you into unnecessary tests or treatments. Honesty and integrity go a LONG way! Also, when my last 2 dogs passed, Dr. Geegan called me personally. He offered condolences and support and that goes a long way. The hours are great. Its easy to get an appointment (I called with an emergency yesterday and they saw me within 2 hours and I had NO waiting time despite a full lobby/schedule). The staff is wonderful, and connected to the facility is a grooming and boarding establishment. If you are looking for a fantastic vet...this is your place to go in Northern Pinellas County! My neighbors female dog stopped her labor after 2 puppies; leaving the 3rd one in there. The docs gave her 2 shots to start her labor again and pulled the last puppy out. It looked dead but they immediately revived it in the surgery room with all the oxygen and special meds. That pup turned out fine! I was there to witness the extra efforts the doctor and techs did to get that puppy to live. Mom and 3 pups turned out fine! This led me to come to Westlake An. Hosp. with my dogs. I switched from another who was more expensive. I now have all of my dogs registered w/ Westlake. The receptionists and tech staff treat me w/ respect. They treat my dogs like they are so Special.....and they are! So far, Ive only worked w/ Dr. Hassell & Dr. Waterman. I like that they talk TO ME----not at me! Answering my questions & educating me on the problems that my dog has. They actually LISTEN to what you have to say as well. They return calls promptly. I am happy that I have switched over to Westlake Animal Hospital.

I wanted to share with anyone who is looking for an outstanding veterinary clinic. I have a 20 year old cat and she recently started having some unusual symptoms that I was concerned about. I started looking in my area for an animal hospital and I called Westlake after reading reviews and looking at their website. From the first person who answered the phone to the vet techs to the doctors I was so blown away with how compassionate and kind and helpful everyone was. Its exactly how you want people to be when you are worried about your animal (your little baby) being ill. Plus they got me in the same day and the office runs very efficiently. Dr Waterman called me back with the results of my kittys labs and was so thorough and patient with me with all my questions and really took the time to explain. All I can say is I highly, highly recommend Westlake Animal Hospital if you are looking for a great vet clinic that will take care of your pet this is definitely the one!!!

Been going to this facility for 3 years with my dog, since hes been 7 weeks old. Most of the people are nice here, everyone has a different personality. Doctor Morgan is my go to doctor, she is who I am comfortable with the most. My dog at 2 years old went into anaphylaxis shock here because of an injection they gave him, noone knew it would happen, it was just one of those things, they reacted quickly efficiently as if it was their dog. The whole experience was scarey, it did leave my husband a little sour, but to me it wasnt their fault and their reaction absolutely saved his life. So to me that is priceless, they know my little guy in and out and I would always recommend them to anyone in my area. Thank you Westlake for all you have done and your kindness, I could not live without my little partner.

I chose this vet because they are certified. What this means they have the education, training and certification of specialists in veterinary internal ... and much more, participating in ACVIM means being a leader in specialty medicine. In addition, Some veterinarians have gone the extra mile to become qualified as a specialist in the small animal field. Veterinarians who are Board Certified in Small Animal Practice have ABVP (American Board of Veterinary Practitioners) after their names in addition to DVM. The doctors are caring, knowledgeable, and treat my pet with love. They remember her name and do not have to read the chart to find out what last have been done. They take each pet seriously and I know they think out the box if necessary. You will not go wrong in chosing this veterinary hospital.
