Had a stranger fall at walmart and I was there . Had a seizure his wife was so scaredifferent and upset. When the ambulance arrived of course she could not ride with them I gave the wife a lift to the hospital Unity . This was my second time there. But times with my daughter and with this stranger they were in Triage quickly and taken back. The nurses were very nice and explained as they went along to the patients wife. I was a patient advocate in the Houston , Texas area so I naturally start rating care as soon as I arrive at a hospitals door or before. The parking area was clean and well lit. The waiting area was clean and I likedont the area for triaging the flu or possible flu patients very smart. When I needed a wheelchair to keep the wife of this patient from going down one was readily available. The only thing I thought odd was standing in front of the deck in the open to register patient fully was not HIPAA compliant because everyone in the room could hear what was being said. I thought the wife should have everything been in the divided area to hold sound and not let anyone behind us see the ID and confidential information. I understand patient coming in by ambulance they needed a chart in the computer quickly to order labs , CT etc. The patients wife gave all information and insurance info. She completed registeration at the first point of contact . Then patient was stabilized an the registration person a lady came in and acted exactly the same information. If they were going to take all needed information before patient was in Triage why not let her sign and be done with it? It was upsetting to the lady to do it twice. I explained to the wife the first person openshooter and begins a chart for personal to bill to and order tests to that number assigned then after trIage they come and double check everything to be sure it was all up to date and obtain signatures of guarantor. She felt a little better. As I said the nurses , techs , doctors everyone was wonderful. This patient was seen Thanksgiving eve. 2016. The rooms were very clean , all badges on employees were visible so no issues with I.D. on staff. Patients wife was in waiting area in ED and I explained procedure for loss of consciousness. That because it will take a little while before she would see him because they would need labs and a CT or MRI to rule out stroke or head injury. She felt comfortable knowing what was going on while she waited. I prayed over her and her now arrived family and stayed until her children got their and I updated them all with how he (they) got to the hospital. I believe the entire family was pleased with the care he was given by EMTS throughout the ED. Thank you for having a lovely hospital with great people and great response times. DonnaBoehm JUDSONIA

I recently had a baby. I was two weeks past my due date, and stuck at 1 cm dilated most of that time, when my doctor, Kris Citty, had me come in for overnight medication to help me dilate. Three hours later, contractions intense and 1 minute apart, I was given my requested epidural. Fine and dandy afterwards. Except that they waited for the epidural to just about knock me out before coming in to go over paperwork with me. I was currently separated from my husband and he was not the father of my child, so there was quite a bit to sort out; it was confusing enough with a clear head, let alone under anesthesia. At around ten the next morning, I was at a full 10, ready to push, when I was finally told by the sole nurse in attendance that they dont call the doctor until they can see the head. That information would have been better known sooner so I couldve braced for it. My baby was in a slight diagonal position so she wouldnt come out without some help, but instead of trying to maneuver her into position first, they decide to go straight into Cesarean, something my doctor and I had discussed that we both wanted to avoid. He had reassured me that they would do everything they could before having to cut me open, and that did not happen. Afterwards, when they removed the epidural, I had to cough and wasnt warned to brace myself. My C section hurt almost as bad as contractions when I sneezed, coughed, or even laughed, and was only told after the fact, "Yeah, when you cough, you need to sit upright and put a pillow under your belly." Thanks for that useful information now... And finally, my baby was brought to me to nurse. A couple feedings later, a breastfeeding expert provided by the hospital was sent to me because I was concerned my baby was only feeding from one breast and I asked the lady about a breast pump. She rudely interjects with, "Your baby is all you need to feed." She gave me helpful info, but the way she had talked to me lacked severely in bedside manner. My main issue was in the delayed giving of information. Kris Citty is a good OBGYN, and I wouldnt hesitate to use him in the future, but I wish the hospital he worked for would streamline their process and make themselves more patient-oriented rather than a bureaucratic nightmare. Oh, and the food sucks.

My husband just spent a week at Unity, and I cannot express my gratitude enough for the care he received there! He went in with a possible heart attack. He also has complications of COPD, and other health issues. He has NEVER been so pleased with a doctor, and in this case several doctors. Our heart felt thanks to DR Duke, DR Haen, DR Evans, DR Kaul, and DR Pace. Their care, concern, and treatments were above and beyond any that my husband has received in his 63 years. He was completely satisfied with his care (unusual for him). Kudos to the RNS, LPNS, CNAS of the 3rd floor. Never once a scowl or harsh word. The most attentive and cheerful bunch we have ever had the pleasure of being around. I dont want to forget housekeeping, and the cafeteria delivery girls. They were so friendly, and had such patience with my husband. The only negative thing about his stay was 3 spoiled milks. They were in date, but nonetheless spoiled. Overall we have peace of mind that we have such great care available to us near our home.

About 3 weeks ago my father was admitted for A-fib. We stayed with him for a couple of days. When I arrived from out of town I needed help with my bags. Imagine my surprise when I found out the very nice young man helping me was Colby, Director of Admissions! I love this hospital! My mother was here for about a week two years ago with blood clots to her lungs. In both my parents cases, you could not ask for kinder nurses and staff and better doctors. The volunteer staff is unbelievable, going above and beyond what is called for. I dont know why anyone would want to go anywhere else. As my Dad says, "If you got to be sick, this is the place to do it!" Thank you White County, and God bless all your staff and volunteers! And theres one nurse in particular Id like to thank, and I know Ill get her name wrong, but shes a sweetie...Renda?? Im sure thats not it, but its something like that. With nurses like her, yall will never have to wonder if your patients are being taken care of! ♥♥♥ these people!!
