My husband and I were going to another Yelm dentist but finally got fed up with their sky-high fees and poor treatment of patients. We asked around and Dr Kay was highly recommended. Ive been to him several times now and I have never been more thrilled with a dentist! I normally have terrible anxiety over dental procedures and require medication just to get through the door. But between the smiling friendly office staff to the equally kind dental hygienists, my anxiety has never been so low. And Dr Kay himself is great! Hes friendly, skilled and efficient, and doesnt talk down to you like some Drs and Dentists do. This is the first time in my life that I can honestly say going to the dentist has been a painless experience :-) Even my husband remarked that he didnt understand how Dr Kays office could do the exact same procedure other dentists have done- but without any of the pain. We will both be life-long patients for sure! My only regret is that we didnt find them sooner.

The staff is ALWAYS friendly, knowledgeable, kind, and understanding. Their scheduling is flexible, and they even have a chair that warms and massages you while getting work done! If your teeth are sensitive, (like mine), they accommodate your by giving you a numbing mouth wash before cleaning your teeth. They have nitrous available for procedures, and accept Tri-Care! They tell you the copays, and can explain billing questions readily. All the dentists have a great bed-side manner, and the technicians are gentle and friendly and are great with kids. They totally get that people have a fear of dentists, and they work with you. I cant say enough good things about this office and team. Ive been going to them for over two years now, and I dont have a single complaint! I LOVE this place!

Weve been going to Yelm Dental for about 2 years and theyve been wonderful for our whole family. Ive been the happiest with the care my two kids have received, 8 and 4 years old. My kids argue in the waiting room about who gets to go back first. Dr. Blackner was awesome with their cavity fillings, they said they didnt feel a thing! I think they offer a great balance of good care but not going overboard with treatments. Turned out my husband had poor quality work done at a "chain" dentist office in the past and they informed us these areas will unfortunately need attention in the future, but for now they will just keep an eye on it. The honesty was great, didnt feel like they were creating dental work that needed to be done in return for higher profit.

So I had to schedule here for the removal of two teeth, one for cosmetic reasons for my braces and another that was long over due for the health of my mouth. They were amazing!!!... The process to getting it scheduled was easy and the process for the removal went very smooth. I especially liked the nurses/D.A that were in the room with me they were extremely sweet and had a great sense of humor. I recommend them to anybody needing dental treatment.
