UPDATE: I didnt even mention this the first time but since its been almost a YEAR and these people are still scheming here it goes! When I went to my exam I was told there was "concern" about a freckle on my eye. They said medical insurance would cover it and proceeded to literally TAKE A PHOTO of my eyeball with a freaking tablet. Thats some nifty technology! And almost immediately after rendering this recommended service I was told how HEALTHY and great my eyes looked. Wow that was quick for someone concerned! But the real kicker is that within 3 days of that appointment I went completely blind in one eye, temporarily. The same one they just told me looked awesome. I called them and told them they need to check again as that is not normal! They agreed and told me to come back for a free follow-up. I was told I have dry eyes. Which had nothing to do with what happened! They then proceeded to send bills to my house, which THREE TIMES now I have called and REMINDED them they my last visit was FREE. They apologized for the mix up and "cleared" my balance. Its been almost a year and now they have the insurance company calling my phone before business hours. Over a balance they has no business adding and lied about clearing. So since they are still asking for money for their questionable ethics, competence, and service- Im charging this review to that! Unprofessionals. The rude lady who arrogantly ASSUMED I had not purchased exam and glasses from them got upset when I asked for MY complete prescription instead of the one they sent with info deliberately missing (to prevent you from buying anywhere else). She rudely told me that my information wasnt just "lying around their office" and to come pay for an exam if I wanted it. Once I informed her I ALREADY DID hence why I was asking them for the prescription (duh!) she tried to sweeten her nasty tone. Yet in the same instance she told me she had to "go look for it" and to hold. She NEVER ASKED MY NAME! She then pretended for 15 MINUTES to be away looking for my information that upon hanging up and calling a different person I received in one minute because its literally JUST in their computer system! So if youre in the market for money hungry condescending liars this is your place!
Let me just say this, 11:30 AM appointment, arrived and checked in PRIOR to appointment time. Its 12:30 PM, why in the world are we still sitting in the waiting area? This seems to be the norm for this place and after speaking with a woman who identified herself as a manager, I would NEVER come back here or refer any one to this place! The worse part is that Im a Healthcare Consultant who trains providers and their staff on office efficiency and productivity to enhance the patient experience! Still utilizing paper forms. Staff is extremely rude. Patient confidentiality? Dont expect it here! Im witnessing a PHI breach as type this now. A member of front desk staff is discussing with a patient loud enough of that the entire office can hear! Will NEVER return to this location! If I could give a zero star, I would!
They charged us for the kids first visit then had us come back to check their glasses 2 weeks later. What they dont tell you is the extra eye snapshots and "tests" that the insurance wont cover since they were already done two weeks earlier and not needed now. Almost $900 for two pairs of glasses (already discounted and partly paid by insurance) and the 2x "tests". When asked why they didnt mention the extra cost before doing the "tests" ($50 per eye) and "therapy"( a lotion for the eyes = $124.00) which one of the kids didnt even need, their response was "well they were performed and you signed to allow tests in the paperwork"...go to Walmart which includes insurance on the glasses including if you drop them and break them. Eyecare Plus the extra hidden charges. Never again.
Im not one to complain but the organization at this place is horrible! I am asked multiple times why I am here! When you call to make an appointment that ask you that. When you get here and sign in they ask again! When you go back they ask again. When the doctor comes in they ask again! Communicate people! The staff has major attitudes, and have no idea what customer service is! I had one shout about me to another one! I hate going to the eye doctor or any doctor as it is due to over booking/waiting time, but when I have to deal with a dispectful staff it makes things worst! If I could give this place a negative star I would!
Dr. Schmidts business model is unsustainable. He takes advantage of the ignorant (repeat customers) and first time customers get charges baked into their regular checkup bill. He sells you on medical issues, that require no actual attention, and bill your medical insurance. If you have a deductible with your health insurance coverage, pay VERY close attention when they are consulting you, or take your business to a reputable eye doctor.
I have had excellent care the few times I have needed to see an eye doctor or get my eyes checked. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. Dr. Kragenbrink is terrific and explains his concerns and treatment plan thoroughly. I would recommend to anyone. Just go early-they do get busy.
DONT GO TO THIS PLACE! ITS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! MY FIRST TIME GIVING THESE PEOPLE A TRY. THEY HAD ME TO TAKE ALL THESE TEST AND DIDNT TELL ME I WILL BE GETTING BILLED TILL THE END. WARNING DONT GO TO THIS PLACE.
Piss poor service and was told they would not repair my glasses. This is where I bought them! Never will step foot in this piece of crap place!l

My kids go here and they treat them so nice! I love this place, the staff is A1.
Love the staff and doctors here. I wouldnt go anywhere else for my eye exams
