These trustworthy doctors are excellent communicators and provide quality care. They are also very considerate of both the pet and guardian. Dr Schmalz is the best of the best. She was especially kind and very informed/ informative. She patiently (and successfully) guided us through our cat"s very serious and unexpected illness. She was generous with her expertise and time and cared enough to check on us throughout the tube-feeding home-care portion of recovery. It was tough financially (this medical condition would be expensive anywhere), but with Dr Schmalz at the helm, it was worth every last penny. These particular Vets are gentle with and respectful of our pets -- a surprisingly rare practice in the field. I highly recommend these vets, most especially Dr Schmalz. My only gripe with Brykerwood is that the clinic is often running significantly late. They must chronically overbook or something. If anything, this indicates that the vets are providing more care than they should for the time allotted.

10 Star !!!! Dr. Biehle is the BEST!!!! ...We live in the country and have Coyote packs all around us .... My German Shepherd pup became very sick, quit eating and couldnt even keep water down. Dr Biehle quickly diagnosed that my dog had been poisoned ... I couldnt believe it because when he asked me if anyone "would have reason to poison the dog", I said "no way" .... he treated my boy and after 3 days of IV fluids and all the other stuff he did, my dog survived ... I later learned that the ranchers in my area were indeed putting out poisoned meat to kill the coyotes ... Dr. Biehle knew what was wrong and treated my dog accordingly ... I have no idea how to repay him for what he did for me and my buddy Shadow ... We love you, Dr. Biehle!

I have had very good experiences with this clinic over the past 10 years. Dr. Biehle and Dr. Schmalz have given me great information and advice and have patiently answered all of my many questions about my beloved pooches. They seem to genuinely care about the animals and I trust their judgment. Dr. Biehle is particularly no-nonsense in his approach (in a good way) and will tell me when I do and dont need to worry about something. He doesnt push unnecessary testing or procedures. He always has the best interest of the animals in mind. And he helps the owners decide what will serve the animal best. I trust Brykerwoods to keep our babies healthy and happy.

The vet here made time to see my dog whod been bit on the ear by our other dog. I was worried it might need stitches because to me it looked pretty deep. But she advised me that due to her age, and the need to put her under sedation due to her anxious ways- I should try to let it heal on its own. That it might take longer, but with a lot of care it should be fine. She gave me a prescription in case it got infected- but to keep the bill low for me, didnt give me the actual medicine. (It would be cheaper to get it at Walgreens or somewhere similar.) I am very grateful for her. I wish the rest of the staff were equally as friendly.

These guys are the best. All the vets are terrific, and I have found the staff to be very busy, but polite - especially on the phone. I dont know if they have had turnover, but in the past 2 years, I have never had a problem. You will wait for 15 minutes or so, even with an appointment, but I dont find this unusual. They have a lot of emergency cases, and your vaccines can wait a few minutes. The drs have always gone above and beyond with us - giving us their home phone over xmas after a surgery in case of questions, etc. If only MY doctors cared this much.

Dr, Biehle has cared for my Lab mix for many years. She was almost 18 years old when he and I had to make the tough decision. Without his amazing insight and ability to connect with us, the sadness of losing Aretha would have been compounded with unanswered questions. Dr. Biehle is a rare blend of knowledge and common sense. I will trust him and his entire staff to care for my other two dogs, and never question their medical decisions or monetary motives. While Ive only been going to Brykerwood Vet for the last 27 years (with my last 13 cats and one terrified dog), I feel confident saying that these people are excellent and compassionate doctors and caregivers. With that many animals cared for over such a long time, weve experienced it all from minor illness and vaccination through major sickness and end of life, and have felt lucky to have received the best care that I think we could have had. - Mark

After taking our pups to a couple of different vet clinics in Austin over the past 12 years we finally found Brykerwoods about 4 years ago. Their customer service is unmatched! Every doctor we have met with has really taken the time to answer our questions and even explain things we thought we understood but clearly didnt. Their website name says it all "Best Vet in Austin!" We are super happy we found Brykerwoods for our (5) pups.

Ive been taking my cats here since I got my first kitten on my own at age 20. They take very good care of my little foundlings (the vet techs name for them) and have amazingly convenient hours, no matter your schedule. You can board your pets here, bring them in during an emergency or make an appointment with little hassle. As long as I live in Austin I will be bringing my pets here, no matter which area of town I live in.

Ive been being my dog Cleo to Brykerwood since 2011. They are a great group of people: my vet Dr. Moore is caring, compassionate, and very knowledgeable; the patient and gentle vet techs take their time with my somewhat timid dog; and the friendly and efficient front staff makes sure we are taken care of. Everybody there cares about animals and tries to do their best. It really is a pleasure to deal with people like them!

The whole team at Brykerwood Vet is great. We love the reception staff, techs, and most of all, the doctors. Our favorite go-to doctor is Dr. Stephanie Baker, but we have seen and loved almost all of the doctors there. The Brykerwood team has taken care of us when we are healthy, when we are no, and when we just needed to talk pets. We love you guys.

Scheduled a 10:15 appointment. Was taken to a room at 10:50. The procedures themselves took only 20 minutes. If you are planning on fitting a visit into a busy schedule and having your scheduled time honored, you might want to reconsider. The staff was polite, but honoring time was very poor.

I took my dog Hank in for a dental cleaning. The staff is friendly and efficient. Dr. Kaitlyn Heideman is the best! I am glad that they offer affordable services - including special pricing during certain times of year! Very happy to bring all five dogs and three cats to this clinic.
