I was visiting from Texas and my dog started feeling badly with stomach problems. I didnt have an appointment but walked into Tidewater Vet Saturday morning and asked if they could fit me in since I was returning to Texas at 6 am and wouldnt be able to get Denny to see a vet dr for two days since that is how long it takes to drive there The receptionist said she would check with the doctor. She returned and said she would have to charge the price for an emergency visit even though it was not after hours which was over $100 just to walk in and see a doctor and didnt include medication or lab work. It is really pathetic that they would price gauge me since I had limited options due to the weekend. I would not recommend this place.

We left a competing vet years ago because we continually felt like we were being sold on unnecessary services. We found Tidewater through recommendations and were immediately impressed by the staff and the care given to our pets. Additionally, we found their pricing schedule to be very reasonable. When our eldest dogs days were numbered, the doctors of Tidewater let us know our options, but never put pressure on us. The day came and the staff of Tidewater handled the situation with more class than could ever be expected. Thank you Tidewater! You have definitely earned our on going business.

I usually see Dr. Satterfield because I believe he is an excellent vet. However, last night Dr. Benedict was on call for emergencies. My mare choke on her grain, and we couldn’t get it to pass. I called Tidewater and reached Dr. Benedict. Even though it was late, he arrived very promptly and began working on my mare immediately. He is a very kind and knowledgeable vet and handled the emergency well. He was able to clear her throat in no time! Thank you Dr. Benedict! I’ve never been disappointed using Tidewater!

My dog dislocated his hip. They were so kind and very straightforward about what needed to be done. They took his X-rays, put his hip back in place and told us what we needed to do to prevent it from happening again. When we went back for a follow up, they didnt charge us for the follow up X-ray.

Tidewaters staff have been taking care of my animals for years and have saved one of my dogs life in an emergency. The only thing that i believe they need to work on soon is the wait time. Almost every time I make an appt, I dont get seen until 30 min to hour after the appt time I made.

This vet is great, the staff was extremely accommodating and caring when I had to let my dog go. Never did I feel like I got ripped off when I visited them. they truly care about the animals they take care of.
