I was extremely displeased with the service this clinic provided to my parents and their dog. Their 11 year old boston terrier had been experiencing eye problems, and a series of extensive testing was performed including x-rays, blood work, etc to ensure he did not have cancer or disease. Dr. Isherwood said that everything looked "normal" and that the dog simply had an issue with his tear ducts. Over $3000 for a painful surgery and a long period recovery, the dog was still having issues. Turns out the x-rays that were taken pre-procedure showed an abnormality indicating cancer, but the doctors at this office didnt think to mention that to my parents for further investigation. MY PARENTS DOG DIED YESTERDAY. The last months of his life were spent recovering from a surgery that was a complete waste of money, time, stress and pain. He couldve lived the rest of his life, no matter how long that would have been, without having to suffer through an unnecessary surgery that only filled the wallets of the employees of this clinic. The whole point of pre-procedure testing and x-rays is to shed light on any abnormalities present... WHY my parents werent told about his abnormal results until AFTER the surgery is a true crime. If this had happened with a doctor for humans this would be complete malpractice. Shame on this office and doctors for rushing into a surgery, putting a sick dog through stress and pain, causing distress to my family and stealing money that could have and should have been put toward cancer treatment.

Although I dont want to have to go back, if my dog needed it, I would choose this animal ER (as I call it). I brought my dog in after he was attacked by a much larger dog. The staff jumped into action as soon as I ran in (bloody dog in arm) and immediately began care. They did x-rays, made suggestions (surgery was highly recommended), and luckily since the surgeon is right next door, he didnt have to travel elsewhere. The vets were also very direct in the details of his injuries and his prognosis without being cold. He had his surgery there and was brought back over to their ICU. I was so impressed by their ICU section. They had a tech watching him the entire time he was in there, and the Doc came in regularly. He was kept for 5 days, but I was able to call as frequently as my worried little heart wanted, and the doctor gave me a detailed update every time. I felt very comfortable with the level of care he was receiving and the professionalism they afforded me. Upon discharge they went over his discharge instructions with me, making sure I understood it fully, and theyve been available for questions several times since Ive been home. Everyone there was so compassionate (when I wasnt always the most collected), and I know they saved my boys life.

WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND. We took our dog here one night after he was hit by a car.. As soon as we arrived they said they would not see the dog unless we gave them $500 dollars as a deposit on the spot.. we explained that we were walking the dog and had none of our belongings with us. They said very coldly they was not gonna treat our dog then. Our dog had blood coming from his mouth nose and ears and his legs where visibly broken. My husband had to leave and go home to bring back $500 dollars. Once they had there money and took the dog back, they would not answer any of our concerns about our dog. They simply said go home he is stable. They called at 5 a.m to say the dog had passed and we still owed them $380 dollars because the full cost was $880.. When we asked if we could have a day because we were overwhelmed with grief, the receptionist became very rude. They are not compassionate and are all about business. There is no sense of caring at this place and the office staff is very cold..

When I took my shih-tzu Buddy to see Dr Isherwood due to ulcers resulting from glaucoma due to diabetes, she was very caring and personable. She spent time with him and us. We never felt hurried. She was very professional and we felt very comfortable with her and knew our baby was in good hands. She is gentle with her bedside manner, yet aggressive with the treatment. She treated his bad eye as long as possible, but let us know in the beginning that the prognosis for his eye was poor. He kept that eye for a year before she had to perform an enucleation. Meanwhile she treated the other eye at the same time and saved it for an addition year. Unfortunately the diabetes took its toll on him and both eyes had to be enucleated. Dr Isherwood and her entire staff were exceptional! My husband and I, as well as our Buddy, absolutely love her! I highly recommend her for your animals needs.

Staff was cold for the most part (the second doctor was MUCH better than the first after shifts changed). The feeling there was incredibly businesslike and the facility was not clean nor inviting. While the real reason we were there is for our dog who survived the night and is now under care elsewhere, we did not feel comfortable at all leaving her there and felt immensely more comfortable when we went to Bowies Dogs and Cats. While we understand this is a business, some sensitivity, customer service and general interest in our pets well-being would be appreciated. Plus, those are things that HELP your business. Money and cost of course is important but dont throw it in peoples faces. Just drive a few more minutes south and go to Dogs and Cats.

This is very much for after hours and desperate emergencies as it is a costly ER clinic. Regardless, they correctly diagnosed and saved my dog. Still kicking years later at 14. Thanks! If cost is an issue, call your regular vet RIGHT NOW while they are open (not in an emergency) and find out about their hours for emergencies and if they are open on weekends and regular hours. My regular vet does after hours treatment AND they are open on Saturday. If I had known, I could have saved $1000 or so by just driving another 10 minutes to the dogs regular vet. The regular vet does all the followup after the ER treats the pet anyhow. Kind of like your regular doc treating you after the ER docs patch you up.

Our 20 year old cat Cleo reached the end of her life and had a bad seizure on Thursday evening. She was obviously suffering and it was time to have her euthanized. We looked for an emegency veterinary clinic because our normal one was closed. We found this one and took her in. Their staff was very professional and helpful. It was a difficult time for us, but they made the process as painless as possible. Cleo was put to sleep that night around 10pm. The procedure was done professionally and without any pain to Cleo. I would highly recommend this place to others and I am thankful to the staff for all their help. Thank you!

My fiance Ben and I went to EVC for our 17-month old puppy Shamrock when she came down pneumonia after being diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis. The EVC vets worked around the clock to help our baby from IVs, attempts at feeding, etc. They allowed us to visit whenever we wanted and were so understanding by how heart-broken we were when she went in our arms. The vet helped us with the financial side and was SO consoling, especially to me. We will always miss our little girl, but when the day comes to get a new pup, I know we will never go anywhere else and you shouldnt either!
