Disclaimer: Im kind of a new pet owner (only ever owned 2 dogs) so I could be over concerned about my pets, but I forgive myself for that and so should Woodland. I dont have kids either so my perspective is obviously a little skewed toward my pup as my "baby". That said, Woodland is a decent clinic, but Ive moved to Kiln Creek Animal Care and the prices are comparable. I had to visit Woodland often these past couple of years because my pup was having multiple issues (allergies mainly) but it was their handling of his last visit which caused me to lose my confidence in their ability to give him the best care. They had difficulty obtaining a clean urine specimen from the bladder (which looked pretty hard to do, I must admit) and wanted to immediately put him on a prescription diet. Its hard enough to get him to eat the food that he COULD have due to existing allergies/food sensitivities, much less try to change it. I got a second opinion from Kiln Creek Animal Care about the issue and they were able to determine the problem was post-prandial sediment in urine and did not need to put him on Rx dog food, just some minor adjustments to his diet (same dog food thankfully) and more water drinking. There were other things that deteriorated my confidence in Woodland though. My new vet is fine with my sometimes ridiculous doting over my dog and making sure he stays healthy with bi-annual blood work and didnt make me seem foolish for requesting that like Woodland did. The vet at Woodland once jokingly told me, "They dont live forever, you know!" I know she meant well but he wasnt even 3 years old yet and she said that without thinking about my pain (and self-blame, of course) from losing my 9 year old previous pet suddenly in the middle of the night in his sleep only a week after his great checkup. He had been a patient there for years and they didnt seem to remember him? Forgive me for taking pains to ensure this pup lives the longest life possible. Furthermore, I dont feel rushed at Kiln Creek like I felt at Woodland. I understand a packed schedule but I had questions I wanted to ask while the vet already had half of herself out the door so I just stopped asking anything. Kiln Creek takes plenty of time in the office and has never made me feel rushed -as if my dog was the only patient. So, if you have a pet that doesnt need to visit a vet more often than normally scheduled stuff, Woodland is really good at that. They get you in and out pretty quickly, their prices are reasonable, and they dont order unnecessary testing. For more repeat visits for sticky issues that might require more than 15 minutes, Im less convinced that Woodland is the place to go. The vet techs are always outstanding and caring though.

Wish they had a zero star rating. I loved Dr. Amour when I first met her she seemed to love animals. I went to her to set up a spay for my anxious dog. I gave all my paperwork at time of my initial visit and set up a spay 5 weeks later. At the time of this visit they have me a quote with medicines listed. I was concerned about one of the meds because if my Australian german shepherd had an mrd1 gene she definitely couldnt take it I raised a concern and it was addressed by the vet via phone that she would give her volume instead. Which was fine so the Friday prior to surgery I went in and got the required blood work. Wednesday the day of surgery i was to bring my dog in at 10am and they would put her under with me there. I show up the office manager tells me heres my new qoute he forgot to look at records amd sees that her fecal is out of date. FIRST RED FLAG. ITS BEEN OVER A MONTH AND THEY DIDNT LOOK AT MY PAPERWORK AND NOW WANT TO CHARGE ME MORE. So they refused to spay my dog unless i agreed to pay so I did I had already taken 3 days off of work unpaid to spay her. So 1045 rolls around and the doctor still isnt out so when she does SECOND AND FINAL RED FLAG. She tells me she is not going to spay my dog because she fears the mrd1 gene she did research last night. LAST NIGHT REALLY YOU HAD 5 WEEKS. I said Im not wprroed because nothing she was giving my dog would interfere with the gene. I asked if she had the gene what would you do? She replied that she would reduce tje anesthesia by 15 % I said well just do it. She refused and sent me how says after DNA test she will spay her but shes to nervous and uncomfortable to do it now. After I got i called and said tje DNA test would take 6 weeks what happens to the blood work I already did. THEY HAD THE NERVE TO TELL ME TO PAY FOR IT AGAIN BECAUSE IT WOULD BE EXPIRED. SO YOU take bloodwork the Friday PRIOR then they do research the day PRIOR. AND then have the NERVE to make me pay more money because you COULDNT DO YOUR JOBS. I lost money not going to work wasted money on bloodwork then make mw waste more time and money to take off Again for bloodwork and spay. Bloodwork may have only been $80 but thats$80 wasted. They put such as sour taste in my mouth I now found another vet. They felt nervous spaying my dog once they did their job but Dont feel uncomfortable wasting my time and money because of their negligence. If they would have reimbursed the bloodwork maybe I wouldnt be so mad but they seem nice at first but greedy once your stuck in tje office never will I go or recommend this place to anyone. Great at first crappy at end. Glad she worried about my dog but too late and insensitive to what your lateness and cancelling cost me

I have been taking my pets to veterinarians regularly most of my life and have never had as poor an experience as I did here. I started going to Dr. Price and liked her straightforward manner very much. I brought a 7 month old pup to her that I had adopted and was not unhappy with her as a vet. Sadly, about 6 months later, our girl was diagnosed with a relatively rare disorder. Per Dr. Price, there was nothing more that could be done for her and her condition would never resolve. We made the heart wrenching decision to have her put down humanely. I called in to make the appointment and was told that Dr. Price was out of town, but due to our girls situation, she couldnt wait until Dr. Price was back. We were told that Dr. Amor would be available to perform the procedure. We were even quoted a price prior. When we arrived, we were put into a private room (I had my 12 year old daughter with me, as she wanted to be with her friend when she departed this world). Once there, we were told that the dog would have to be examined first - I had to explain that Dr. Price had just seen her and given us the news that she wouldnt recover. After a small discussion, they agreed, but stated that Dr. Price didnt have any notes written down regarding our conversation. We waited in the room with our sick girl (and crying daughter) for a long time. By the time we finally had someone come in to perform the procedure, we had been there just short of 2 HOURS!! (They told us when they made the appointment that these took priority.) There was never more than 1-2 people in the waiting room while we were there. They brought the bill in to settle up before the procedure was done and the charge for the examination (which wasnt done) was on there, plus a higher rate. The bill was almost $100 higher than quoted. I was ready to walk out with my daughter and suffering dog when they finally agreed to the original price and then put her to sleep. Never in my life have I seen anyone in this stage of grief be treated this way. They added insult to injury with the time waiting, the suffering of the dog and the family and trying to price gouge us all at the same time. While the front staff was apologetic, I was told that Dr. Amor was responsible for the wait, price, etc. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. What a way to end a friends life and change my daughters view on vets, etc. I hope that they understand how they treat people in this situation can affect things on a lot of levels. Make some changes.
