They are extremely rude, nasty and have no compassion. I offered them $600 for dental cleaning for my 3 small dogs and asked them if they would do any extractions without any additional cost and they said no. That money wasnt enough for them. They wanted an additional $165 or else they wouldnt do it. The office manager told me that it would take the vet at least half an hour to extract each tooth, yeah, right! I told her that I would be coming from an hour away and my ride is a retired dentist. She hit the roof and said "You are bringing your dentist with you, I just cancelled your appointment right now." She was yelling, extremely rude an unprofessional. I asked to speak with the vet but she said that I would have to make an appointment and pay for an office visit fee just to talk to him... So she expected me to drive 2 hours and pay $50, just talk to the vet.... wow... My nephew is a vet in a different state and anyone can call and talk to him on the phone without a fee. I had my previous vet over 25 years and he would always talk to his patients. Too bad he is retired now. Do NOT go this vet. Pay more and get treated with respect elsewhere. I wouldnt even give them one start but Google wont let me post this without checking any.

My 5 year old chihuahua mix "Mia" had been in drastic need of luxating patella surgery on her hind leg. We had been putting it off for some time, due to the cost of what our area charged for a surgery of this type. 4000$ simply wasnt in our budget but Deer Park Animal Hospital was able to do it for a fraction of the price. We are very thankful because we dont feel like we sacrificed any quality based on the what we paid. This is what made this surgery possible for us and our fur-baby Mia. The experience was good and the results have been great for our dog. My wife and I took a 5+ hour ride to Newport News from Philadelphia for this and would recommend it to everyone else in a similar situation. Mias leg no longer pops out of place and she is running again. I also feel like she doesnt have pain now and is a much happier dog all after a short 6 weeks of recovery! With the addition of the joint support tablets, she is like a new dog with a new leg. We plan on going back in the near future to get her other hind leg repaired. Unfortunately she was born with the same problem in both back legs. I really thank Deer Park Animal Hospital for making this happen for us. Mike Hessenauer

Dr. Savell has been our vet since 2003. Over the years we have had many animals, some we lost, some we still have. I have never seen a vet as kind and understanding as Dr. Savell. My pets love him. He saved my Black and Tan Coonhound, Molly, from an accident a few years ago. He performed emergency surgery on her and saved her life. They took Molly right away without question. His office staff have always been super friendly and caring about our pets. His services are never overpriced and they are always willing to work with any financial situations. He truly cares about animals and the furry friends we call family.

We were refered to Deer Park for our Pittbull Ginger who needed Cruciated knee surgery. Dr. Savell was awesome, he fixed our Ginger for 3/4 less than the other vets. The staff was awesome and very attentive to our pitt. They made me feel welcome and put my mind to ease when leaving her there for surgery. Thank you Deer Park Animal Hospital.... The best vet in Hampton Roads. Dr. Savell is patient and takes time to get to know your animals. I moved out of town for several years and when I moved back, I had a cat emergency after hours. I left a message on his emergency line. Dr. Savell called me from home. Even though he hadnt seen him in years, Dr. Savell remembered my pet in great detail. How awesome is that? Great support staff as well!

Thank-you so much for taking care of my little man "Gent" The vet and staff are extremely friendly and you can tell that pets are their passion. Gent was attacked by a neighbors dog and required amputation surgery, and the doctor was so kind and even assisted me with getting Gent ready for his ride home. Thank-you so much for your kind words and gentle care of my pet.

Ive brought my dog in 2 times for the same thing within 4 months of each other and without taking any kind of test to include not taking the dogs temperate they give him the same antibiotics and charged me $200. I had to ask to get his weight and he was under weight from his last visit. Save your money because from my experience that all they really care about.
