I am in earnest—I will not equivocate—I will not excuse—I will not retreat a single inch—and I will be heard! First the fact that VCA said my dog needed a flu shot and a heart worm test which she wasnt due for another 6 months and the flu shot is completely unnecessary then they had a woman that didnt know how to draw blood stab my dog in two legs over and over again in every direction it took so long I had a complete conversation with the older lady whom said your dog is thrashing around she was still and eating treats after treats then she said your dogs blood pressure is low she left the needle in so long the older lady said take it out now the blood coagulated. As I was walking out side to collect urine I saw the girl whom didnt know how to draw blood and used my dog as a pin cushion I said first time drawing blood? Outside for the urine the older lady forcibly took the leash from me saying I have to do this. I explained I have done this before and it is easy, the older lady yanked my dogs leash after she said ok go potty and wrapped the leash tight around her wrist so my dog with arthritis couldnt adjust her legs in a position to pee she didnt want my dog to move I took the leash back the older woman was saying dont walk over there the balls from the tree will hurt her feet I didnt see any balls as I was bending over collecting the urine Cary the vet bent down put her face really close to mine and said you cant speak to my staff that way, referring to the girl I said, "First time drawing blood." to, I stood up she was walking in front of me I said tell her to take it like a man buck up learn to take constructive criticism then Cary the vet maliciously tried to stop me from exiting the yard slamming the door in front of me to bully me she said you and I are going to have a talk I grabbed the door opened it and said Ill bet youd like to think so and closed the door behind me.The most malicious abusive experience I have ever known. The staff abused my dog.

The treatment that our two cats received at VCA over a period of years was exceptional. Every person with whom we came in contact -- the doctors, the vet techs, and all the ladies at the front desk -- were friendly, concerned about our pets, and supportive of us in every way. We took our two cats to VCA during the later years of their lives when they began to develop conditions for which tools like X-rays were needed (we had previously seen a mobile vet but she lacked this equipment). As the cats continued to age, their conditions gradually became more complicated... And less easily treatable without compromising the quality of their lives. Dr. Cary Edwards saw us through this difficult process, first with one cat and then the other, a year apart. She could not have been more empathetic, careful, and considerate in the way she dealt with our cats and with us. She took the time to discuss all the options with us at every turn and to address our questions and concerns. When we had to make the final painful decision to let each cat go, she managed the delicate process of giving us her observations about their status without trying to make any decision for us. In the end, performing the final procedure for each cat was clearly almost as difficult for her as it was for us. I cannot recommend Dr. E. and the other good folks at VCA more highly. If/when we bring new cats into our lives, we will bring them to VCA.

Tried to get two of my dogs their 3 year vaccinations. My first dog was a previous client - no problem. My second dog they refused to vaccinate because they did not have his record. When I pointed out that the dogs record was at another VCA vet - I was told to come back another day or they could give a one year vaccine (identical to the three year) and I could come back (and spend another $150) next year for a completely unnecessary vaccination. They would then "adjust" his one year vaccination record to reflect three years - since by state law they are required to maintain accurate records, this adjustment, to which I would be a party, amounts to fraud. I declined to participate. I have also noticed that one of their receptionists calls animal control with an animal cruelty complaint when you bring in an injured dog for treatment. Dont trust this place and be prepared for plenty of bill padding with unnecessary vaccinations and tests.

My pup was misdiagnosed , left there for 7 hours on IV fluids. Was told we would get an hourly update, never did. Went to pick her up and she had not improved at all which was a shock for me because I was expecting some improvement. I then had a million questions running through my head. I was told the Dr was too busy to talk to me, mind you this was 9:00pm closing time. A nurse wrote my questions down which were at least 5. She came back within a very short time with a answer to ONE question!! I expressed my disappointment to her and then another lady walked in a said I needed to hurry up and make my decision as far as transferring her to the ER and the 6 people were waiting around on me to decide. I felt very rushed out the door and lack of communication from the doctor was disgusting. I will be finding a new vet for my baby.

I wrote a very bad review for vca animal hospital in Newport news, va. and not surprisingly, I think someone removed it. They only want the good reviews to show because the other review, the fourth one was also a bad review. I know someone who worked there so I know the lowdown of how they treat their employees and a corporation who treats their employees like subhumans can not be trusted with the very innocent and vulnerable. Management has a screw loose and they need to just go out of business.

AWFULl! and sad thing is I did not even go in to experience it. I was calling to reschedule my time and was placed on hold, (which is understandable) but for two minutes not only to have the lady come back on the phone rudely and say "hello" then i spoke to ask to reschedule for another time to have her hang up.... haha its a joke of a place would not even recommend them. If the people are rude to humans imagine how they handle your pets.

I have been taking my little dog Fluffy here since I adopted him. He is my first dog, and from the first moments, the employees and medical staff have been so helpful and knowledgeable- from all the beginner questions, to getting him on healthy food and a vaccine schedule. I always feel and know my dog is in great hands, and continue to recommend VCA Boulevard to my family and friends! Thank you!

I take my doggie Chiefee to Boulevard and my dog hates pulling up in the parking lot because he does not like the scale nor the needles! But the staff, they love on him and play with him so much that he actually leaves in a good mood! If I had 1 complaint its in the administration area but only because they keep contacting me after each yearly checkup saying my dog is overdue for a checkup
