There is just so much great things to say about Thrive unfortunately I cant give it all in this one review but Ill try. First off Dr. Keillor is AMAZING living in a larger city like Houston its not easy to find a vet that genuinely cares and is not only worried about a paycheck. My 2.5 yr old Lhasa Apso had been sick and not eating for almost a week right after New Years money was tight and I couldnt get him into his regular vet. I googled some places and found Thrive which was very affordable. They were able to see my boy Bentley right away. Thrive is not a full service vet so they didnt have X-ray machines and because we went on a Friday blood work wouldnt come back until after the weekend. Dr Keillor suggested Bentley had pancreatitis or a foreign object and recommended I get X-rays to be for sure but in the meantime she gave meds to help him get to feeling better. The visit was free since it was my first time there and she was very personable and showed a tremendous amount of care. She told me to contact her personally if I had any questions or concerns. The next day I took Bentley to get the X-rays completed and it was a foreign object. Emergency surgery was required the object had already been inside of him for almost a week. Animal Hospital quoted me over $2k for the surgery which I couldnt afford at the time. I was told if I couldnt afford the surgery that day the best thing to do was put him down because he wouldnt make it. I was devastated and was going to put him down the next day I just wanted to at least spend one more day with him. I reached out to Dr. Keillor to update her and she told me about a place called Palms to Paw that would be less expensive. They were even open on Sunday to perform the surgery I contacted Palms to Paw but the surgery was still too expensive. Dr. Keillor offered to pay for the surgery but not only did she offer to pay one of the vets had been hurt so they needed another vet to perform his surgery Dr. Keillor came in on her off day to help perform Bentleys surgery. She went above and beyond to save Bentleys life after the surgery he recovered and she kept him in her care until he was stable enough to come home. Bentley came home Monday night after his surgery on Sunday and passed away that Saturday due to his liver shutting down. Although he passed away Im glad he was able to get the surgery and come back home to spend more time with me before he passed away. Dr. Keillor was truly an angel that I will never forget. This has been a rough time Bentley was my first fur baby and my best friend. I wouldnt have made it without Dr. Keillor and her awesome staff to help me get through it. Everyday after his surgery I would bring him to the vet and she would make time to care for him up until the day we decided to put him down. She made that process easy for me as well. It has now been three weeks since I lost Bentley her and her staff has checked on me and I also received a card in the mail from Thrive. Dr. Keillor should receive a HERO reward. Talk about random acts of kindness. Dr. Keillor has a friend in me and Im forever grateful. If you are looking for the proper care for your pet please go to Thrive Dr. Keillor will have your back.

This was our first visit to this location, we had been very pleased with the staff and experience at the Champion Forest office but NOT this one. We took our corgi in a week ago for anesthesia and surgical removal of a torn toenail per the doctors recommendation. When we picked him up they informed us that they had over sedated him and did not even get the toenail out because it was "too hard to". Post op appointment procedure and cost was very poorly communicated by the staff and when I called to ask Dr. Rowlands to please clarify what he needed next visit she immediately got defensive and EXTREMELY rude. Talking down to a client like that is so unacceptable. We have had friends tell us that they had the same experience with this same doctor. Very poor customer service and disrespectful on so many levels. We will not be returning to Thrive with any of our 3 dogs.

Ive taken my new puppy twice to see Dr Rowlands, Ricky (tech) and Coral (receptionist). They have taken great care in examining my new puppy both times. The first general exam itself was free (but puppy did need vaccinations and a rabies shot - $12 for the rabies). The first Revolution heartworm dose was also free (or it may have been part of the puppy package). Puppy also had a blood test - $55 - before getting neutered, just in case. Puppy bled more than normal, and Dr Rowlands ordered an additional blood clotting test free of charge and advised that I let the Humane Society performing the neutering know that he bruises easily. The advice was much appreciated, as well as the free additional test. Dr Rowlands, Ricky and Coral are dedicated to the animals.

Today I brought in a 6 day old puppy that I have been bottle feeding because he had what I was worried to be the beginning stages of strangles, as well as another slight issue. They listened to all of my concerns despite the fact that I was definitely overreacting. But since the visit fee is only $10, I didnt have to wait to see if he got worse because I wouldnt be out much if there was nothing wrong. The entire staff was very kind and made sure to great me and explain that they were having a slight emergency with a patient so would be back in a few minutes. I didnt wait longer than 5 minutes before being brought to a room. Dr. Rowland was wonderful! She even gave me dewormer for all 3 puppies entirely free of charge!

I took my dog to the vet today, Saturday. We waited 3.5 hours to get vaccinations my dog had already received. They could have easily just told me they did not have time today to see us, instead of putting us in isolation due to scabies. I completely understand it was Saturday and they were booked, so they could have just told us they didnt have time. We feel like we wasted our time just to receive something our dog already had. If you go, make sure to make an appointment so your wait wont be as long, but it will still be long. Walk-ins are welcome but you will be waiting 2-4 hours. The doctor was very nice, informative, and helpful, but She was the only one to see the completely full office.

Ashton the Vet Tech and the Veterinarian, Dr. Kayela Rushing D.M.V., were really great. They took excellent care of our two kittens, provided all details for pricing before any exams or procedures or prescriptions, and were very caring and clearly stated all answers to any of our concerns and questions. We will be returning for certain for any of our pet care needs. The $10 exam was affordable and they gave us the second cat exam free. They were very thorough and we got way more than what we paid for.

First of all I stopped without an appointment and they saw my puppy within 10 minutes. Dr Jane Rowlands and her staff are awesome. The explained more than other vets do. They are not just great with but had all the patience in the world for my 3 4 & 5 yr old boys. I love this place. Thank you to our Technician and Dr Rowland. You guys are awesome!
