Dr. Coangelo seems like a nice enough person, and his references were GREAT. Appointment for procedure was on 5/1/2017. Office manager treated me like a homeless person when I questioned paying for my entire 2 crown procedure up front (had already had a cleaning there and my insurance was verified and paid already, and this would be a 2 part procedure - first day, then crown installation in 2 weeks). I explained that my HCRA card could only cover the charge once, so if the amount changed it might be an issue. I offered to write a check for the full amount up front today and then they could charge the card before I left - leaving it with them during my procedure. Guy said, "I would run immediately down to the bank and cash your check before the procedure could begin." Really. I am completely flabbergasted. Have never been treated this way at any Drs office before. Instead of discussing my concerns about the office managers rudeness, the Dr. just said "I do not think you are a good fit for this practice. Im going to refer you to someone else local here." He essentially said they have plenty of patients without me. So, if you are looking for a dentist in Grapevine, I suggest that you consult with Huckabee Dental or The Grapevine Dentist instead - as he suggested to me. I lost an entire days pay since I took the day off of work. Do not make my mistake. _____ Update: Just left Huckabee Dental on 5/3/2017. The 2 teeth that were supposed to have cavities in the external exposed surfaces of crowned teeth had NO cavities in them! In fact, they looked exemplary on xray and the photo I was shown in Dr. Coangelos office was NOT of MY teeth! SO glad I got a second opinion. Dr. today also said that recrowning those 2 teeth for no good reason would have disturbed the root canals on those teeth, and could have resulted in me losing those teeth entirely over time. Insurance says that there was NO pre-estimate asked for or given to Grapevine Dental for anything other than the cleaning and xrays. Xrays were filed under a different last name and teeth were misnumbered too. Good grief. ____ Moral of the story: If you feel uncomfortable in ANY way at a dentist or other Drs office, get a second opinion. STAT.

This office used to be owned by Terry Walker, but was sold and changed to Grapevine Dental, which was run by Dr. Hamilton. My wife had a root canal and crown done my Dr. Hamilton and within weeks, her pain returned. Hamilton said it was cracked, needed to be pulled and an implant put in its place. He told her that he would redo the crown at no charge, since the crown for an implant is different. The pain persisted, so she followed his advice and had an implant done by someone else. This office doesnt do implants. When she returned, to have the crown replaced, Hamiltons name was still on the sign, but Colangelo was now the dentist. Im not sure what happened to Hamilton, but the office name remained as Grapevine Dental. Colangelo refused to honor the promise and do the crown at no charge. Then, they charged more than our insurance company would allow. We were left with the co-pay and the difference. He said that he talked to Hamilton, but that Hamilton had said that he never offered do it at no charge. In my opinion, that was a blatant lie. This office has never been the same since Terry Walker and his staff left. We no longer use this office and would definitely not recommend them.

Dr. Colangelo and his staff are simply AMAZING!! Walking in for our appointment today we were greeted by the receptionist with a huge and welcoming smile! After going in for only my second cleaning the hygienist remembered that I was in school and asked how it was coming along. I love being a patient here because they truly care about you and treat you like family! Not to mention they are extremely fast and efficient! My brother and I always get our teeth cleaned at the same time and I kid you not we were in the building for a total of 55 MINUTES!!!! Speed and efficiency is obviously important to a business but Dr. Colangelo and his staff still maintain the personal touch which makes this office so great! Thanks for keeping my families teeth clean and healthy!

Best Dentist Ever Award goes to Dr. Colangelo!! Which is an amazing statement coming from a complete Dental-Phob. He has taken ALL of my fears of a dental visit away. As long as he is the dentist. The first visit to Grapevine Dental was so great. They made me feel so comfortable and at ease that I didnt even want the gas. It was mind-boggling really. After having horrible dental experiences gas was always a must and Id still be so scared the entire time I was in the chair. Dr. Colangelo and his staff are just fantastic. They are a wonderful blend of professional, skilled and laid back all in one. They are fantastic and if you suffer with Dental-Phobia I am confident they will cure you too. Highly recommend Dr. Colangelo and his staff at Grapevine Dental.

I hate the dentist!!! Hate it, I went in for a cleaning since I get two free a year, thanks to my insurance. The office staff was quite comforting, puting me at ease. The hygienist was sweet and I really felt she understood where I was coming from! Dr. Mike came in and talked with me about the importance of taking care of your teeth, as well as offer advice on certain problem areas. Honestly the last dentist I went to was a chain type and its refreshing to feel like I can trust them, I would definately reccomend them and I am looking forward to six months from now. Thank you

Shoddy dentistry, actually did damage to nearby teeth and charged far more than their estimate. Colangelo might be good but his staf and associates are hacks and liars.
