I had a horrible experience at this Monarch. Granted, Id never been to a Monarch before, so maybe I had the bar set a little too high for what a dentist should be like going into this. First off, unlike every other dentist office, as a new patient they wont let you schedule a cleaning. You have to come in for x-rays and a check-up "before they know what kind of cleaning you need." They told me that there was a possibility they could get me in for a cleaning the same day if a hygienist was available. They also told me to arrive 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork, which I did. Then I sat there for 45 minutes after my appointment time before they called me in for x-rays (There were two other people in the office. You cant tell me they were busy). Then I waited again to have my gums inspected. Then I waited again for the dentist. Just to get x-rays and have someone poke around in my mouth for a couple of minutes, it took 3 HOURS!!! I didnt even get a cleaning! The dentist looked in my mouth, told me my teeth looked great, then looked at my x-rays. She said I had what looked like a little decay under an old filling (which hasnt been giving me any pain) and that I should have the filling removed. The catch was she didnt know if a filling would be sufficient to replace it or if I would need a crown. Basically, she told me my teeth looked great, but I walked out of that office with a $3,000+ estimate of stuff that she didnt seem very sure I even needed done. I just felt like they were trying to get me to spend money. I left that place and immediately called my insurance company to immediately change my primary dentist for my DHMO. The next day I called the Monarch office and asked that they send my records to the new office. Now more than one month later, I just found out today that they havent done it. Next year when open-enrollment comes around for my insurance at work, I am getting the more expensive insurance. It is soooooo not worth it to have to go to Monarch. That place is horrendous.

I had a similar experience to what someone on here already said. I tried to take advantage of the $29 cleaning coupon on the website, which supposedly has a $320 value...big mistake! I showed up early to my appointment with my paperwork already filled out which they send you in an email. They have plenty of dentists in the office and only one front desk from what I could tell, but took a while to get called back. Then, once I got all the x-rays, I sat another 45 min waiting to see the dentist. This was my first clue since the dentist I have seen where I previously lived sees you after the cleaning. They state the dentist has to see you "after they figure out what kind of cleaning you need". Finally, the dentist came in and did a probing thing with my gums (which I have never before had done and I go to the dentist religiously every 6 months) and told me I, of course, needed fillings replaced and a venier to replace where I had chipped a tooth and got it fixed as a kid. I was still fine with the $3,000 estimate of stuff that needed to be done if it could wait until I have better dental insurance from my upcoming job change. I just wanted my teeth cleaned. Plus, I had paid cash for a cleaning 4 months ago and there was nothing recommended so, with no pain or anything, I didnt feel it was urgent. The dentist said that would be no problem, but there was a major disconnect between the front desk lady, the hygenist, and the dentist. Bottom line, I spent 3hours and 45 min to get a simple polish. Even sent an email to complain to corporate and they said someone would be contacting me. They never did. Horrible place and I dont recommend it at all! Oh yea, and they make you sign a paper saying if insurance doesnt cover what they recommend then you are liable, even if they submit a pre-approval. Hint: If insurance pre-approves something then denies it once they see all the x-rays and documentation, then it is NOT medically necessary!

Left there in tears I was so upset! So I set up an appointment for a regular cleaning and check up and also a orthodontist consultation on the same day. They recommend that I be there 15 minutes early since I was a new patient. So I left work early and got there about 20 min early. After finishing my paperwork I still waited for another 45 min but no biggy I expected to wait. Eventually I went and took ex-rays and then they sat me in the dentist chair for about another 20 mins. Then another assistant came and did the gum test. After that the dentist came over and took a quick peek in my mouth and said my teeth look great but my gums look a little shaky. I expected that also since Iv had gums issues since I was a child and I also havent been to the dentist in awhile. They leave me in the chair for another ten minutes and the front desk assistant comes with a paper with about $600 worth of charges for the work I needed. I ask for just a regular cleaning that my insurance covers and the refused and said that they couldnt because I needed other work done. No big I said I could do payment plan and pay the down payment today so they could get started on me. She said no problem that I she needed was a voided check. I didnt have one on me so I had to walk to the chase across the street. Once I came back the front desk assistant said that I would have to reschedule an appointment for another day because the dentist was busy. SOOO I left the dentist office with NO cleaning at all! They didnt even mention my ortho appointment.. Wasted all that time and energy and to top it off all the associates there were very impersonal and not friendly. Worst experience ever! Not going back and I wouldnt recommend this office to anybody.

Went for a regular dental check. When I got there I waited for 40 minutes, well past my appointment time. I was then given an x-ray. They took me to an exam cubby and did the "gum check". The dentist came back said everything looked great, all I would need was the regular cleaning, the tech could do it; he didnt even need to be there. Then, they took me to the front and told be that I would need a periodontal screening before they would clean my teeth. The kicker? Insurance wont cover it. The charge would be $300. They also felt I would need a cleaning package not on my insurance, another $100. When I said no, I just wanted the cleaning, the lady said the tech wouldnt be able to do that without the screening. I asked why, I had never heard of that before. She said it was extremely dangerous. I asked her what exactly they planned to do with the toothbrush. She said the hygienist could lose her license. At this point, I had already been told I didnt need fillings, so I wasnt too concerned about it.I said no the only thing I wanted was what was covered by insurance. She said shed have to check with the office manager. I asked if that was the dentist she said no. She walked over to the office manager who told her to "try the waiver, the waiver usually gets them"...It didnt. I left the office
