It is hard to believe it but I have been seeing Dr. Tavery (Bert) for almost 10 years now. And I really owe him a debt of gratitude. At some point in my mid 20s I developed a serious (and completely irrational) phobia of dentists. I actually made it about 10 years without seeing one. Now the worst part of having a phobia is that in the back of your mind you are always aware that you need to do something. You just cant bring yourself to do it. It was draining and thinking about it caused me stress. And the longer I avoided it the more stressful It became. Finally, in my mid 30s I started having problems that I couldnt ignore. I knew Bert (not well) through a service organization we both belong to. Out of desperation I got his mobile number from the clubs directory. I remember calling him from my office. I was shaking, trying to explain my issues, and asking for help. I just remember Bert being incredibly kind. He explained that phobias are caused by bad experiences and that the only way to get over them is to have good experiences. And that each time you have a good experience with a dentist it is going to get easier to come back. He had his assistant call me the next day to make an appointment and he set me up Dana to do my first cleaning in a long time. Dana was also incredibly kind and as I said, that was 10 years ago. Since then I have been through just about everything. Every once and awhile Ill still sweat a little bit, or get a twitch in my hand while I am in the chair. But I dont dread going into see Dana and Bert, it doesnt cause me stress, and I really dont even think about it until my outlook reminder pops up and tells me it is time to drive over there.

I am so compelled to inform everyone I can about Salt Run Family Dentistry. I was in for a root canal on 8-3-17, and on top of being terrified (Id had a very bad prior dental experience with another dentist), I was extremely sick with the flu. Never have I been treated so kindly by people who hardly even knew me. In fact, by the time they were done with the procedure, I felt like Id been visiting with friends. Dr. Tavery and his amazing assistant, Sarah, treated me as though I were a family member. They eased my mind, both made me laugh, and told me so many wonderful stories that by the time wed finished, Id forgotten Id just had a root canal. The work they did was absolutely impeccable, and they walked me through each part of the procedure, explaining what they are doing next, so there were no surprises. The professionalism, care, thoughtfulness and kindness they extended me was just beyond any measure of what I could have possibly asked for in a dentist. I immediately cancelled my husbands appointment at his other dentist and made an appointment with Salt Run and Dr. Tavery for his root canal. His experience was the EXACT same, which is so very telling. From the moment we walked through the doors into the warm, fun and friendly reception area, to the absolutely lovely staff, this was so much more than what we had hoped for in a dentist. Thank you Dr. Tavery, Sarah, Angela, and the entire staff of Salt Run Family Dentistry, for making us so feel comfortable and cared for. You have just earned 2 more patients for life. 5 stars is simply not enough. Ive had some severe dental issues my entire life. Ive seen other dentists before, and none of them ever showed the same level of care I received here. Dr. Leth took the time to explain every possible option, how everything worked, and what the potential outcome could be in each situation. He even explained the aftercare medications. It was very informative, and allowed me to make the right choice for my situation. I ended up having some extractions. Having been through this before, I was very nervous and ready to run out the door. When he said he was done, I thought surely he was wrong, as I never felt a thing. I couldnt believe the procedure was done. Completely painless. The facility is incredible. Very high tech, and super clean. Great lighting, great decor, and a completely friendly staff assisting. I could not be anymore pleased than I am at the final outcome. Its time to treat your teeth like they deserve to be treated - go to Salt Run Family Dentistry.

Would you believe me if I told you that I actually LOVE going to the dentist?! Its true! I started having my teeth cleaned by hygienist Dana 20 years ago when I first moved to St Augustine. Ive seen her every six months since. We talk, laugh, and share all the way through my cleanings. Shes as professional and gentle as can be with me and my three children Ive had since meeting her! She is so knowledgeable that youd think she is a dentist herself. Dr. Leths warm and calm demeanor immediately set you at ease. Hes thorough and truly thoughtful about your dental concerns. His work is top notch and he keeps you as comfortable as possible, even bringing you a blanket if you need one. ;) St. Augustine is fortunate to have lured this local man home to practice. The entire Salt Run Family is a huge asset to our town.

I wish there could be more than five stars, 10, 50, 100, but truthfully that would not be enough to describe how amazing Salt Run Dentistry. The level of care is unmatched. However, you are not just a name on a file who comes in twice a year. You are a person who is treated like family. I can honestly say I love going to the dentist. I have been a patient of Dr. Tavary for almost 30 years and now with Dr. Leth its just wonderful. The best part is my hygienist Tammy, who is absolutely perfect at what she does. The office staff is wonderful and the office itself is inviting and friendly. I cannot imagine a better dental situation. Honestly, if they had to stop taking my insurance, I would pay out of pocket to stay there. If you are in search of a dentist, STOP, you have found the best!

I cant saw enough good things about this dentist and his staff! I have lived in St Augustine for almost 20 years and have tried at least 5 other dentist in town and was never really happy. I tried this office about 4 years ago and Im so happy. No more dreading going to the dentist. I am a excessive grinder and have completely worn down my teeth and now started cracking them. Ive had other dentist have me in tears when I have left with the overwhelming task ahead and the worry of how am I going to afford all this needed work. At Salt Run they just address the issues need to be completed first and never are pushy. I love the whole staff and always feel great when I leave. Thank you for your professionalism and attention to detail!!!❤️

Ive never been happier with a hygienist or a dentist before in my life. As soon as you walk in the door youre treated like family! Each employee makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Dr. Leth takes all the time you need to discuss your dental procedure (if you need one) and always makes it a point to come and say hello when youre there for a cleaning. My hygienist is amazing and is so gentle on my sensitive teeth. My son, who is six, also gets his teeth cleaned with her and he actually loves going to the dentist office. He thinks its super cool that Dr. Mickey has a PAC-MAN game in his office. I love that they have modern equipment and offer more cosmetic options than most dentists. The office is exceptionally clean and relaxing.
