Ist experience at Tripoint was a scheduled nuclear stress test which I requested as a precaution prior to a scheduled elective surgery at Geauga UH. I had no symptoms/issues. I scheduled at Tripoint per my primary doc. Order) Summary: Radiology intake employee not very friendly, dismissed my questions. Assigned cardiologist dismissive and would not answer any questions prior to test. My primary doc called me the next day and said get to a cardioligist ASAP as your heart injection rate is at only 15%. Horrified, got same day appointment at Cleveland Clinic Heart Failure Dept who determined nuclear heart stress test at Tripoint completely inaccurate. Injection rate normal. After MANY telephone calls/ complaints to head of Radiology I was told their equipment was faulty. 2nd experience. 7 yrs later. ER. Only went there at request of podiatrist. Concerned I might have major infection in toe. No wait at ER ( was 3:00am) which suprised me. Intake staff very nice. Xray tech very nice. RN bandaged foot poorly, wrapped foot over and over with poorly secured/loose gauze. ER doctor could not tell me if I had an infection or broken toe so vist/ $ waste. ( very slow night). Waited FOREVER in room for results of xray. WAITED FOREVER to be discharged. Call button ignored. I needed help getting out of hospital bed to use RR due to poorly wrapped foot. Finally hobbled on my own to bathroom. Found RN ( she had ignored repeated call button ) down hall gabbing with co-workers. I asked if discharge paperwork ready. She replied yes, she would print it and bring it in ASAP. Waited 50 more minutes for her to bring paperwork. I think I was the only patient in the ER that night. Saw no one else. In my opinion it felt like ER doctor and RN were disinterested in their jobs and in me. ER was told ahead of time by my doctor to expect me and to follow up with them/ let them know the outcome. They did not share any info/ follow up with my podiatrist. Pretty sure the ER doctors there are contract, not hospital employees. PS. Dealing with LakeHealth billing is a nightmare. Terrible terrible system and many accounting staff inadequately trained.

Lake Health and Tripoint have been the worst medical establishment since December 2009 when they first opened. Yes a physical upgrade (eye candy) from the original Lake East hospital that was once in the heart of downtown Painesville city. Tripoint has some of the worst care out there, regardless of your tier of health insurance coverage. Dollars and cents unfortunately but truly define how you get taken care of. They are always understaffed doctors, the ER patient care and waiting times are off the chart; sad to say if you were in critical condition - you have a better chance pulling out the first aid kit and attempting home remedies. Tripoint is so invasive, they misdiagnose; and another point to come back to - their hearts arent in it for their patients. In the ER after being admitted, your going to be waiting awhile; bring a book or something to do. In the hallways, all you hear is personal conversations between physicians, nurses, doctors, any form of staff really. At the same time, you do hear a lot about other patients conditions, treatment, diagnosis, and other personal information about others; but theyre so big on HIPAA laws. You could practically data mine people while your waiting to be seen or get treated. Rooms are usually dirty; I dont know how many times I see scraps of things on the floor, usually wrappers from opened "sterile" items left behind or missed during cleaning. If your in a room with a bathroom, check the toilet, sink, garbage - see if its even changed. Honestly, you probably have a higher risk of catching something verses getting treated for something. Personally, and I know a lot of others who would agree with me; University Hospitals System is like a 5 star resort compared to Lake Health - specifically Tripoint.

I was in a car accident. I had medical issues that kept getting worse including possible brain damage. I arrived and 3 separate people stormed out over the wait. The desk clerk admitted to seeing us but decided to ignore us for 10 minutes and we wandered around looking for staff. The service was horrible! 7 hours later none of my concerns were met and I was living every second in pain. They were busy milking my insurance for things I did not want. They were very vague with services and even with the nurse call button going off for over half hour we could not find anyone. I was so desperate to discharge after 2 hrs I decided to simply walk out - suddenly someone appears! They were exceptionally rude. My friend is a gay black man so everyone was really concerned about my possible aids?! I find out later they ran an aids test on me without consent and charged my insurance. I ended up going straight to the liquor store and got so wasted I passed out just to have peace. I slept 4.5hrs. I slept a total of 6 that entire week from the crippling pain. Beer was cheaper and of better service than this place! I ended up going back to the ER again this time a different place.

I am having severe pain from a dental infection and i cant find a dentist or oral surgeon who will take care of me. They refuse me because of my disability. So i called the emergency room and explained i was coming in and i was scared because i had to come in alone. The person i talked to told me not to bother coming in because they would not treat me. I asked her how they could refuse treatment and she laughed and told me HONEY WE ARE A PRIVATE HOSPITAL. WE CAN DO WHATEVER WE WANT. Then she told me being as i was anxiious they would just pink slip me to laurelwood. I started to cry and said i need help im sick and she laughed again and told me to go somewhere else. There is no where else. The ambulance will only take me to the nearest hospital. Dont get me wrong i hate tripoint. They are the worst hospital and i know from experience you will wait for hours and get the wrong care or no care. But if this is as serious as my doctor thinks i have no choice but to go there. Now they have refused to treat me and threatened me if i go there. I hate this place. How can they even call themselves a hospital when they could careless about people who come there needing help!

Not enough people come to the internet to provide positive reviews for care received at Lake Hospital Systems. I am using my social media presence to discuss the amazing job that TriPoint did taking care of my daughter this morning. We had a skilled team of professionals that went above and beyond to provide the best quality of care for my daughter. The medical staff quickly assessed her condition, made a thoughtful diagnosis, provided the appropriate treatment, and made the necessary referrals for higher levels of care as indicated by her condition. Every member of the team took time to explain their level of involvement and answered any questions that we had. If they didnt know an answer to our question, they found someone who did. My daughter left the Emergency Department better than she was when she arrived. I have had similar experiences in the past at TriPoint and shared a few concerns about how care should be expedited in emergent situations. It is obvious that they have incorporated those requested changes into their policies and procedures in the Emergency Department. I fully trust TriPoint to care for my loved ones, and you should too!
