If I had the option to give this facility a negative rating, I would without a doubt do so. My experience at this hospital would be best described as traumatizing, it has left me baffled. The behavior, inconsistancy, and lack of communication amongst the staff is devastating, knowing thats the team whos care youll be under. I went in at 9pm with appendicitis. I did not get into the E.R. until 10:30 and did not see the doctor until 11:30. Nurse Erica was poor with communication and status updates as to where I stood in line for a C.T. Scan. When I confronted her poor communication she pushed an excuse and reiterated how she had told me earlier that they were "busy" that night (I was later told by the Director of Nurses, Donna that they had many beds open and available for patients on another floor). The first visit from Doctor Mensah at 11:30pm was very brief and distant. I did not see him again until around 3am. Again, presenting poor communication. I would go an hour- hour and a half without seeing the nurse, the pain medication wearing off sooner than I hoped it would and my aggitation and emotional anxiety on the rise. The pain was escrutiating and I had no clue what was happening inside my abdomen. Around 1:30am I was finally able to go in for my C.T Scan. Around 3am Doctor Mensah came in to share the news that I was indeed correct, I had appendicitis. Overwhelmed with frustration and emotions I had tears of anger. Not only did I not feel like I was taken seriously during this proces, I felt neglected. I expressed my displeasure with my experience thus far, to Doctor Mensah who then had the audacity to shut down the conversation and walk out on me. I was able to communicate with the Head of Nurses for that Shift, Nurse Jessica. She saw that I was assigned another nurse and doctor. By 4am I was finally placed in a room and informed my surgery would not be performed until 7am. When brought in for pre-op/surgery I had to make sure the doctors were aware of the medications I have been taking. I have Narcolepsy with Cataplexy which requires me to takea serious central nervous system depressant every night to sleep. No nurses or doctors/surgeons at this facility had a clue of the name/type of medication I was taking. This is a problem considering I was being put under anesthia which is also another central nervous system depressant. If the slightest thing were to go wrong or the wrong medication was perscribed, I would go into a respitory depression. Trying to get into contact with my sleep doctor was impossible seeing as his office was not open. This again, sent my emotions in a downward spiral. Coming out of surgery, the nurses again were not informed on my medication and majority of the time it seemed as though these nurses were not aware or informed on my medical information. Upon being discharged, I was not briefed on post-op care nor was I informed when I can resume my regular medication regiment. I have yet to hear back from the Director of Nurses, Tonya Lyles, who personally reached out to me in hopes of fixing these problems amongst her team. I am extremely displeased with this experience and will not being going back. I do not recommend this facility to ANYONE. It is worth the drive to go to another hospital. My surgeon Dr. Neyra did an excellent job, and nurse Tulsi was very personable and on her A-game.

I had three heart attacks in 5 days out of those 5 days two of them I was taken to this er and every time they treated me like dirt didnt come check on me stopped my heart attack but then told me it was nothing left for them to do but send me home and refer that I find a primary doctor to be seen further UT they refused to admit to me it was a heart attack and told me year too young to be having one finally camw over to a real hospital come to find out Ive not only had three heart attacks but also my blood test that they took when I came to the real hospital came back for major abnormalities signaling major blood clots but at the oviedo er they told me they took my blood I was fine and all of the pain I experienced was in my head anxiety and I needed to relax and go home. Now to mention the best part of my whole experience with the Oviedo Er, on the 2nd day I was forced to return to that er with extreme pain like never before the nurses were mean rude and rough they didnt check on me for long periods of time, no one wanted to give me answers they were very combative towards me for medical professionals then towards the end of this u belive ordeal when I was finally able to get the doctor back into my room after she told the nurses who also told me she refused to see me cause her nurses and assistants told her I was fine and she said I just needed to go home but she comes in hooks me back up to the monitors check my vitals one more time slamming turn everything back off walk out and while do so saying out loud yup your fine and after another 30 mins and combative moment with another nurse she comes back and tells me to leave and that shes not going to argue with me that I just need to go before they call security and escort me out, even all the while I remained calm even during my time of duress and pain so then calmly I ask her is there anyone I can plesse talk to to make sure that what Im experiencing isnt a heart attack because I showed almost all but one of the classic symptom and risk factors which were my age and a fever( statistically showing most males are A_symptomatic) but she yells back and I mean yell no and no ones going to see you because your fine they all told you your fine especially the doctor with many years of experience and I said one moment Ive been here to receive help Ive been patient never even rung a bell and you guys treated me like this which is absurd and secondly how many times everyday in this world a doctor with many years of experience was wrong sent someone home who had more heart attacks and even died remember malpractice is still number 1 killer in America so dont tell me about what your doctor thinks is my problem and I left thank goodness run run run I wont suggest this place for anyone expecially not if you love them and want the best care this place ill always remember but only as a reminder

If I could give this Hospital less than one star, I would. I went to this ER at 1:00am in the morning for a UTI, normally I wouldnt go to the ER for something like this but this pain was excruciating--I couldnt wait until morning. Waiting room was empty, the receptionist checked me in and I waited about an hour to be taken back to a room. I saw a nurse, an administrative billing person, and finally a doctor. The doctor diagnosed me with a UTI and wrote me a prescription for antibiotics. I asked for something to help relieve me of the pain temporarily, specifically I requested Phenazropyridine, which is a pain reliever for the lower urinary tract NOT A NARCOTIC!!!! The doctor refused me any reliever whatsoever. I left the ER about 3:30 a.m. I asked for a doctors note from work for the day because I had been up all night, and by the time I go to the pharmacy, have my prescription filled and make it back home, it will be 6:00 a.m. The doctor REFUSED to give me a sick note for work. EVEN THOUGH I have spent half my night in the ER. The doctor would not come out from her office to talk to me regarding this. Anyway, I recovered from the UTI just fine. A few months later I get a bill from Oviedo ER for $4000. I had medical insurance at the time!! WTF. I called the billing center and a rep told me that my insurance denied the claim. After a phone call with my insurance company, they stated that they received no paperwork. Back on the phone with the Oviedo ER, they entered my date of birth wrong on my paperwork, and my insurance would not accept their claim. Oviedo ER has STILL NOT CORRECTED THIS PROBLEM after 6 months later!! I received a bill from that doctor who wouldnt give me a sick note for $789 because she doesnt have my DOB right either. I have been round and round for these people for 6 months now and I am totally unhappy. I have tried expressing my frustrations and concerns with the staff at the hospital and no one seems to care. You cant get ahold of any sort of supervisor and there is no sense of value for the customer. I would never, I REPEAT, would never go to this hospital EVER EVER AGAIN.
