So far Ive had scaling and planing done to my teeth in two visits. This went very well and Im very happy with the results and the woman who did the work. When in having this done during the second visit, an extremely angry woman came in about her child having had "unauthorized work" done. This may or may not be so, but for five minutes she was cussing the front desk workers out and using the *F* word repeatedly and threatening lawsuits, yada yadda..., regardless of who was in the treatment rooms or the waiting room having to hear this rubbish. Nothing was done to stop this rude outburst. Today I needed the figure from my treatment plan for an application I was working on. I was at someone elses house doing this and getting help with it. I called Greenberg office to get the figure. I was met with "Were not stopping what were doing to pull up a figure for you. Youre going to have to come in and well get it for you." Once there, I was asked if I had an appointment. I said no, that I was in to get the total off the plan. "Sir, have a seat." When I was called, I went to the desk and was asked what the problem was. When I explained, I was met with, "Mr. Swart, we explained everything to you very thoroughly and gave you 100 ways to handle this!" loudly so everybody in the waiting room could hear plainly what was going on. It was embarrassing. I told her outright that they did NOT tell me 100 ways to plan this out. This is not why I was here. All I wanted was the total on that sheet. I did not even need the sheet itself, which brought up another scolding... "Sir, We gave you all this, but well give it to you again!" What it all boils down to is that I should have gone all the way home and make the person who was helping me with the application wait longer (but after all said and done, it would have been a shorter wait if I HAD gone home and gotten it! I personally hate being called "sir." and I prefer to be called by my first name. Nor do I like being called by a title and my last name. Again, preference is my first name. When I asked to not be called "sir," it fell on deaf ears and she continued to address me thus. Okay, no big deal. However, after three or four more times, I asked to be called by my first name. They laughed and twice more called me by the title, as if this was some big joke. I didnt think it was funny, but I understand that most people might not understand why I dont like formal titles and certain other formalities. Ive been in city and government-run clinics and other places where low-income folks need to go and workers in these places can be pretty terse and downright cold. I would put the atmosphere of this dental office (the front) on the same level of experience. Of the doctors here, they seem to be on the level with the patients and my experience so far has been, they explain things well and do not talk down to the patients like the front people do. They are cold and talk down to patients. In other times dealing with them, I felt like I was walking on eggs, but I fought those feelings. I have no problem with the things they said in regard to the difference between what is billed and what is treatment plan. Its how they talk and their demeanor. During my waits in the waiting room, I have noticed that they generally talk down to some of the patients, and if they have made mistakes or didnt understand something, the whole waiting room would know it. This whole thing makes me uncomfortable in spite of the excellent work they may do in the treatment rooms. I have scouted out other facilities and found one much better in the way of friendliness and wanting to get to know each patient. The staff appear to be cheerful and call their patients by their first names. When I told them some of the stuff at Greenberg, they said, "No, no! We realize that patients come in to have the work done and were here to make the experience for them the best it can be. Thats more like it! Im transferring!

Do not go!!! I repeat, DO NOT GO!! Front desk staff are VERY unprofessional, they speak in Spanish in front of the patients that dont. Today me and my son went in and as we were getting our teeth cleaned, a group of the Hispanic staff were huddled up watching a video on a cell phone, laughing and speaking VERY loudly as they watched, it was truly obnoxious and unprofessional. The dentist and dental hygienist were superb, but they do not belong there because their front desk staff and dental assistants are making them look terrible. There was an African American young lady there who was an assistant and she was amazing, but all the others seemed aggravated like they were just there to collect a paycheck. When we left the office, I was told I was set and good to go. I get a phone call from someone that works there stating that "she doesnt know how I got away without paying the balance, but that I had a balance of $110 for the fill ins for my son". Well I wouldve happily paid or paid something on it had she not been so rude when asking for a payment. So I told her I didnt have it and she continued to nag me rudely, and again I told her "no, I dont have it". And she says, "Ok, well send you a bill in the mail" and hangs up in my face. So at this point I am agitated and wish that I had gotten her name. But heres the kicker, I call back to see who it was that just called me and she was nowhere to be found so I end up just speaking to the "office manager" to make a complaint. Well after I made my complaint she says "okay, mam what would you like me to do to fix this problem". And I say "I dont know, youre the office manager, you should have the answer to that question". So at this point, Im am truly fed up with the terrible customer service and ask for corporates #. Nothing was resolved and that is just terrible business! Dental should not be this stressful, if they dont want to work they should quit!! Needless to say, Ill pay the $110 but we wont be back, trust!!!

After my visit today, I am quite disgusted with Greenberg Dental. Unfortunately, Ive learned that because I had an exam with them, my insurance requires that I also get my cleaning with them, so I actually have to return to the office. Gripe 1: Arrived on time, took 30 minutes to get into an exam room. Gripe 2: It took a further 15 minutes to see the dentist. Gripe 3: Across the hall, a child who was about 6 years old was having teeth extracted. I was completely disgusted the terrible bedside manner of the dentist. "Andy! Andy! Sit still. I need you to sit still or youll just hurt more. Andy! Didnt I tell you to sit still? I havent even done anything yet!" (Name changed to respect that familys privacy.) Maybe this dentist doesnt have experience with kids... but freaking get some if youre going to do pediatric dentistry! Gripe 4: I told the assistant who took my X-rays about how upsetting this all was, and she laughed. (But she did close the door, at least.) Gripe 5: After a 90-second examination, I learned that Ill have to make ANOTHER appointment for my cleaning and yet another for a filling. When I asked for those two things to be done on the same day so that, you know, I didnt have to deal with TWO 45-minute delays, they werent able to book me until mid-December. Gripe 6: None of #5 was mentioned when I made my appointment for "an exam and cleaning." Gripe 7 is not their fault, but my insurances: because Ive started an exam with this practice, Ill have to go through with the cleaning and filling here. Rest assured that Ill be jumping ship in 6 months for my next cleaning.
