I think they have had turnover in their staff. I had a number of good experiences here for a while, and even recommended it to my wife, but we have had back to back really bad experiences. I was early to my appointment and was told that they might even work me in early. Instead, I waited 30 minutes without being called. I checked with the front desk because I had another appointment. I was told 10 more minutes. 20 minutes after that, still no call. When I went to let them I know I had to leave for my other appointment, the response was "Sorry. Do you you want to reschedule?" I was one of 3 people who had been waiting for nearly an hour after our scheduled appointment. At no point did anyone tell us they were running late.

I was REALLY impressed with their supply of frames. Finding a unique style frame is very important to me, and I went all over Silver Spring until I found this place. The staff was young, extremely helpful, and really knew their frames. If I wasnt sure about a frame, the salesman would go get other staff to weigh in--and their responses were really helpful. They made me feel awesome--a great shopping experience. I personally didnt get my eyes checked here, so I have no idea about the doctor. I still havent received my glasses, but recommend so far!

Ive only been to My Eye Dr twice in the past ten years, but both experiences were fantastic. Quick (but thorough, friendly) exam. I ordered prescription sunglasses. They told me it would take about two weeks since they were coming directly from the manufacturer (Oakley). It took only ONE week, which was great (got a text - very convenient). Very friendly, professional help at the desk, and assisting with frame selection. I would highly recommend.

I cant speak to the frame-buying experience (I generally get em online) but Dr. Vu has been fantastic for the last six years. Last month he caught some mild blepharitis and explained how to treat it; advice was spot-on and my eyes have been feeling far better. I realize this is simple stuff... but friendly competence always deserves five stars.
