The veterinarian and its technicians at Forever Vets have a blantant disregard for owners and their desires in regards to their furbabies. I went in this afternoon with my 5 yr old 62lb Husky/Malamute mix for a routine exam and vaccinations. We just moved to the Orlando area from North Carolina and hadnt found a vet yet, but since the reviews were good; decided to try Forever Vets. When I called the day prior to the appointment I verified that the vet had experience with huskies and bigger dogs. I was assured that the vet was experienced and knew how to handle our canine family members. I also asked about muzzling and if they would muzzle the bigger pup pups and was assured that they didnt at all. So feeling good, I scheduled an appointment and brought him in today. The staff at the desk were kind, quick, and efficient at their tasks and it was only a few minutes from walking into the vet that we were placed in an exam room. The technician came in and we went over a health plan that was available and started to discuss the purpose of the visit. Like I said, its a typical routine visit for vaccinations with a heart worm test thrown into the mix. The technician said they would need to take him to the back to complete the heart worm test and, before they took my fur baby, I verified once again they would not muzzle him without permission. You see, my husky is a rescue and has slight trauma from being muzzled previously. Once I adopted him, I took him to training classes and started training him as a service dog until it got to expensive to continue. He has not been muzzled since because it causes him to have bouts of sickness for hours afterwards. Well, the tech assured me they would not muzzle him and took him into the back. A few minutes later, we hear his muffled whining and we thought it weird he wasnt howling like usual (Hes a husky - its in his blood to sing about everything). I step out of the exam room and look down the hall to see that they placed a muzzle on my puppy without notifying me or asking permission. I was tempted, so tempted, to just bust into the exam room and grab my baby to race him to freedom, but due to the nature of the tests they were running; I didnt want to cause more harm to my baby than they already were. Once they brought my handsome man back, I confronted the staff. Their reasoning was that he was getting snippy with them and it was a liability to not have the muzzle. So I asked why they didnt come get me and was told it was a liability. So I asked why they didnt come get my permission after I was assured twice that this wouldnt happen; their excuse was that it was a miscommunication. The vetenarian then tried to further justify not notifying me by saying they couldnt hold my fur baby down because he was so big and they were short staffed. I am 53 and 130lbs. I handle my trained pup pup just fine by myself and the last three vetenarian offices I took him to did as well and they were roughly my size to go along with it. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper and the staff made it seem like what they did wasnt a big deal - except theyre not the ones having to clean vomit out of their carpets for the next three hours. Against what I wanted to do, I paid for my visit, instead of storming out, and decided that Forever Vets will never see another one of my furbabies. If you still want to use this vet, be sure to go into the back even if the technician tells you that you cannot. They will try to hide what theyre doing to your baby behind a closed sliding door and wont give a flying flip if theyre traumatizing your furry family member.

My experience was good but did not end well. I made an appointment for the same day using the first exam free for new patient promotion. When I arrived, the office was very clean and orderly. The woman at the front desk was polite and my dog and I were in an exam room right away. My dog was having an issue with her anal gland. I assumed it needed to be expressed. So, I asked the woman how much the charge would be only to be told it would be discussed later with the vet. That seemed ok so when the vet tech came in I asked the same question (thinking she would know the price and inform me). She says the same thing; the price will be discussed later with the vet. Ok...So the vet comes in. He is very polite and goes straight into the exam. Because she is having a butt problem, he does an anal exam. He then expressed her anal gland. (All the while I am waiting for this discussion on the price). A few seconds later he is done and leaves. The vet tech then proceeds to tell me the charge I owe them. Hold on, wasnt there going to be a discussion with the vet?? The entire visit took about 5-10 mins total from walking in the door, to going to the front desk to pay. When I get to the desk, I ask if there is anything that can be done since I specifically asked, more than once, about the price and was NOT given the price. She goes in the back room. The vet tech comes out and is not as nice as she was in the room. I ask her the same question. She tells me no. The price is the price and I already recieved a discount because I came in on the free visit promotion. I pay the charge but I am not happy. I feel the charge was deceptive because I SPECIFICALLY asked MORE THAN ONCE how much an anal glad expression would be and WAS NOT TOLD THE PRICE UNTIL AFTER THE VET DID IT. What if I could not pay it? What if I did not want it done? I was not asked if I would like her gland expressed. The vet just did it during the exam. I do not have alot of money and I will go without groceries to pay for my dog if she needs medical care. Thats not a problem for me. The issue is the seemingly deceptive price. So buyer beware, you may be charged for something you did not agree to before hand. Three Star. ____________________________________________ EDIT: I would like to provide additional comments to my original post. I received a call from the Dr. who apologized for a miscommunication with his staff concerning the cost of the requested service. He offered to refund my money and seemed genuinely upset for the error. I will be returning to Forever Vets Animal Hospital. Thank you for clearing up the misunderstanding. A+ customer service. Five Stars.

Being that this is my 2nd Time rewriting my review due to exceeding characters the first time, I will keep it short and sweet, but to the point. My ecperienxe at Forever Pets was overall not even worth a 1 star! Not only was my puppy with a broken paw not treated with compassion, care, and the way any typical vet should treat any pet, but I was also taken advantage of for a hefty amount of money. For starters, the vets do not personally care for the pet, they didnt attempt to even get anything done on my dog without automatically saying she need to be sedated, they didnt know the proper placement for a puppy with a broken paw on the scale, and I was also lied to. The sedations were completely outrageous, the price and he kind used for a 5.43 IB Yorkie, the pain medication was the type you would use on a Great Dane, and the analysis of the X-rays were completely off. Lets not also forget, the credit application in which is as told quote on quote that "it would not run and or effect my credit", butmoment after applying I received notification from my credit source saying that a new activity that will effect my score has ran my credit. The doctor told me my girl needed surgery for having four cracked knuckles, but no hip displacement or major bone fractures. The doctor was also quit on quote "not certified to put splints on the dog". The best one of all, they said they would send the X-rays to my girlfriends email ($189 for X-rays) before hey closed at 7:00PM by them it was 6:45PM. After arriving to our specialists location at 7:20PM, still no X-rays and of course, the Forever Pets hospital was closed! I had to repay for X-rays over with my specialist and paid a total of $191 for the visit compared to the $363 at Forever Pets, in which if my X-rays wouldve been sent I wouldnt have had to spend any money, but nothing was ever sent. My specialist told me that the dogs leg is broken, but not to the point to where she needs surgery, they gave us proper medication 30 tablets for $15 to be exact, compared to the 3 tablets for $12 at Forever Pets, and showed that they really cared for my puppy. My overall experience at forever Pets was horrible, I didnt feel like the vets actually cared, they gave my puppy the largest medication and sedation because to them the bigger the medication, the more money they can charge. I would not recommend this location to anynody, they are liars, dont care, and in this petticoat scenioro, thieves in my eyes.
