Sexton Dental Clinic Inc is located at 377 W Palmetto St, Florence, SC 29501, USA. The clinic specializes in dental services and operates from 6 AM to 5 PM on weekdays. The clinic has a rating of 3.7.
Patients report that the clinic is primarily a walk-in facility, although appointments are necessary for those who wish to be sedated. The waiting time can be extensive, often taking up the majority of the day. Despite the long wait, patients acknowledge that this is to be expected given the high volume of people the clinic serves.
Patients have highlighted the cost-effectiveness of the services provided. One patient mentioned paying $1,260 for a full set of dentures, which was significantly cheaper than quotes received from other dental practices. Another patient reported a cost of $2,200 for 17 teeth extractions, describing it as a great deal compared to local rates.
Patients generally praise the quality of the dental work. Dentures and partials are reported to look natural and fit well. One patient mentioned having 23 teeth removed in less than an hour, describing the experience as efficient and the dentist as reassuring.
The clinic offers novocaine for local anesthesia, but sedation is also available for those who make an appointment. Patients have mixed experiences regarding pain management. Some found the anesthesia effective, while others reported feeling pain during procedures, particularly when dealing with abscessed teeth.
The staff, including the dentists, are generally described as professional and kind. However, there are reports of some dentists being less attentive to patients' pain levels, leading to uncomfortable experiences.
Patients recommend arriving early for walk-in services and bringing a jacket as the waiting rooms are chilly. They also advise future patients to be prepared for a long day at the clinic.
The clinic is often recommended for its cost-effectiveness and quality of dental work, despite the long waiting times and occasional issues with pain management.

Its been less then 48 hours since Ive left there. I arrived a few minuets till 6 and I was number 24 in line. The lady behind me was told she was the last same day denture person in line so if you will be going there for that then try to arrive as early as you can. Over-all this place met my exceptions on how they operate. Yes there is a lot of waiting but that really is to be expected for a dental clinic that serves so many people in a single day. My only complaint was that I had called a week before to make an appointment and was told they only did walk-ins, but upon arriving I found out that you need to make an appointment if you want to be sedated. I had 23 teeth removed and had been wanting to sleep for it, but I ended up having to get nova-cane. The dentist himself was actually really nice to me. It was a bit surprising since I wasnt expecting it. I was very scared about the whole thing and he did his best to reassure me. He shook my cheek when he could to try and relieve some of the pain from the nova-cane shots. I had told him before he started that I dont stay numb for as long as most people, and all I had to do was raise my hand if I felt any pain and hed numb me again, which was really nice. He also kept telling me how great of a job I was doing and spoke very kindly. The whole thing took no more then an hour to remove 23 teeth. My dentures look very nice. I only have a partial on the bottom and all my teeth look very natural. They close from 11 till 1 for lunch and I received my dentures around 2:30. Like I said, most of your time is spent in the waiting room. If you go there thinking it wont take all day you will be disappointed. And if you were wondering by chance, I paid $1260 for everything and I got the best dentures they offer. My local dentist (in NC) had quoted me nearly 12 grand for the same thing. So if you dont mind it taking up your whole day then I would highly recommend this place. Oh, and bring a jacket, even if its hot outside. Its very chilly in the waiting rooms.

I arrived at 5:15 am to have 4 upper extractions and have a temporary upper denture and a permanent lower partial made. One of my teeth was a canine tooth. It was absessed. I saw Dr. Robert Scott. After my shots of novacaine and time for them to numb me, Dr. Scott came back. I informed him my mouth wasnt numb. I could still feel pain around my canine tooth. He told me it was pressure and started pulling. By the time he got to my infected tooth, I was shaking uncontrollably. I kept telling him I could feel it but he kept saying it was pressure and I was doingfine. I clearly wasnt doing fine but Dr. Scott acted like he didnt hear anything. My infected tooth was last and it came out in pieces. He even had to drill part of the root out. Im crying and shaking uncontrollably. Then he informed me that i needed 2 stitches in the wound where i had the infection. I didnt even feel the stitches because I was already in excruciating pain. Finally the nightmare was over. The nurse put gauze in my mouth and told me to have a seat in the waiting room. It was 8 am. If I wasnt called back by 10 am then to ask the receptionist if I could leave and come back at one. I was still shaking and couldnt go get my pain medicine! I sat there until 2pm before they called me back to place my teeth. I hadnt eaten all day, I was in even more pain because the little bit of novacaine had worn off. I was finished at 4pm. I cant believe what a nightmare! Today my face is swollen and black and blue. Ive been nauseous since yesterday. I went to Sexton s 6 years ago and had 10 extractions and upper and lower partials. I NEVER had any trouble. Dr. Robert Scott didnt work on me then. My 1st visit was wonderful! I think the Clinic needs to get rid of Dr. Robert Scott! Hes a disgrace to his profession and needs to be fired.

I was going to another place and the price they quoted me for full extraction and dentures was no where close to the budget I told them I had to work with. Plus since I had no insurance, they could only do one extraction at a time on Tuesdays. Plus healing time. So, I would have been looking at a years worth of visits at least. I went to Sexton after talking to a few people that have went there. Its all walk-in, so you have to get there early. The wait wasnt too long to be x-rayed. Then they brought me in, had a dentist look me over and discuss what it was I was looking for. He went into extreme detail of any problems that could occur. He even told me there were great oral surgeons in my area if I really did want my molars taken out. I was told this since if the molars were extracted, there could be an issue with the sinus cavity. Now Im thinking, well isnt this something, hes not trying to gouge me! I was told I only needed 4 extracted. So he numbed me up, even my nose was numb. The only reason I knew he had the teeth out was because I heard a clink on the metal table nearby. I felt NOTHING. Even after the anesthetic wore off, I felt nothing. I didnt even need the pain meds I was prescribed...and even those were inexpensive, $23 for pain meds and oxycillin. The only slight issue I had was waiting until 1pm to have the partial fitting. It was worth the wait. The woman brought me back, put them in and gave me a mirror. It was like I never lost any teeth. I was given instructions on care and told to come back for adjustments. So, instead of paying thousands of dollars and dealing with a year of treatments, I paid a couple of hundred for work that was actually needed in 6 hours. Ill be going back to have the bottoms done in a couple of months. HIGHLY recommended
