I went to this dentist office in January 2016 to have a tooth extracted. Initially, the procedure went very well, and I was very comfortable with how it was going. Then, when the tooth "let go," before the dentist was expecting it to, the steel pliers used to remove my tooth struck an upper tooth with a fairly moderate amount of force. The dentist performed a quick visual inspection of the tooth he hit, and determined that it was "OK." From January through May, my tooth went from fine, to having a cavity, to cracking off. When I went back to the dentistry to ask about getting it fixed, the dentist had already finished working and was walking out the door. (This was at 2:00pm) The hours were posted, so it is my fault I did not arrive earlier. When I went to the front desk to ask about my tooth, and to set up an appointment, they said they could fit me in on Monday morning, and that i should go straight to medexpress to get some antibiotics. So I did, thinking that Id have a procedure done on Monday to fix my tooth, and didnt want it to be delayed because of an infection. So I went to medexpress and spent $250+ for the visit and some penicillin, took the pills, and was all ready to get my tooth fixed. I arrived Monday morning, was taken back to get my xrays done, and waited for the dentist to begin fixing me, as I was led to believe would happen. I told them I think my tooth was damaged when he hit it with the pliers and the hygienist went to convey that to the dentist. A few minutes later, the dentist walked into the room, glanced at the images, told me it was a cavity and it wasnt even remotely his fault that the tooth cracked and that I was responsible to get it fixed. I wasnt looking for a free ride, or even a discount at all, (although it would have been appreciated) I just expected some sort of acknowledgement that he played a role in the fracturing of my tooth. Even a quick "Im very sorry about this" and Id have been OK. His arrogant attitude towards me made me feel like I was some lowly peon, who could never be able to understand how a tooth gets damaged, and therefore shouldnt even raise any concerns to him that perhaps he may have had a hand in it. Then, without even looking in my mouth to try and see what could be done, told me I could schedule an appointment to get it fixed at the front desk! I was already there to get it fixed! I said fine, went up front and made sure I owed nothing and left. I have been telling everyone I can to avoid this place and, I will be going elsewhere for my root canal and crown. All I can say is this is how my experience had been, and, if any thing should make you feel like your tooth was damaged, make sure to get an x-ray immediately after it happens.

Im a 34 year-old guy with a bad case of dental anxiety. I havent gone to the dentist much over the past decade because every time I went, I was told I needed to have all four of my wisdom teeth removed. I wanted no parts of that... Especially because my wisdom teeth had never really bothered me. Well... This past year, they finally started to deteriorate and hurt quite a bit. They were really crooked, and I knew I probably had to face the music and finally have them pulled. I called The Dentistry because I was interested in being totally sedated for that. When I told them on the phone that my wisdom teeth were really hurting, they got me in that same day for the initial consult. The Monroeville office was really nice, brand-new, state-of-the art. Very friendly staff. I arrived a bit early, and they got me started on my x-rays early. The dentist who saw me for the consult was great and very respectful of my anxiety. He prescribed antibiotics for an infection in my one wisdom tooth, and something for the pain, and we got my surgery scheduled. In the weeks leading up to my surgery, the antibiotics cleared up my infection, and I didnt even need the pain meds. The staff member who worked with my medical and dental insurance to sort out the financials for my procedure was fantastic. She took care of everything, and informed me that I would owe hardly anything out-of-pocket. The day of the surgery, they brought me in before dawn. I was the only patient being worked on, which was nice. The oral surgeon and anesthesiologist they brought in to do the surgery had me knocked-out and underway in no time. Less than an hour later, they woke me up and told me all four teeth were out, and it all went well. REALLY well. I honestly had little to no pain during my whole recovery—just some soreness. Its 5 days after surgery, now. and Im pretty much back to 100%. Most of the stitches have dissolved away and everything feels pretty much healed. I ate nachos last night! I have my follow-up appointment with The Dentistry tomorrow and Im looking forward to telling them in-person what a great job they did. In fact, Im looking forward to actually becoming a regular patient. I think now that my wisdom teeth are gone, my dental anxiety is gone, as well... Ill definitely be heading to The Dentistry in Monroeville every 6 months for my cleaning and check-up, from now on. Five huge stars.

The entire staff honestly cares about their patients and it absolutely shows! The dentists are extremely knowledgable, and do everything in their power to ensure that youre as comfortable as you can be. I just had 2 teeth extracted, and not only did they do an AMAZING job, but they also took extra steps to make sure I was comfortable, and repeatedly asked if I was feeling any pain. I did at one point for a brief second and he IMMEDIATELY switched focus to ensure that I was comfortable again before he proceeded. Never in my life have I ever felt comfortable and not seriously afraid of a dentist visit until I came to them. Every other dentist Ive ever been to by memory had me to the point of severe shaking from fear and nasty anxiety to the point of becoming a phobia... Now, I can honestly walk in with a smile, and willingly, while remaining comfortable and calm. These guys are heroes in my book, and will GLADLY put my own name out there to vouch for how simply amazing they are.

Dr. Tiano is a great dentist, but the billing practices The Dentistry uses are frustrating and confusing. After being assured that I was done, and there shouldnt be any bills in the mail, three months later I was surprised when a bill appeared. At no point during any of my visits was I told that my insurance would cap out and subsequent visits would have to be paid for out of pocket. Every other dentist I have visited in the past has disclosed this information so that I would be prepared for a bill should I receive one, and I have still scheduled service. Again, Dr. Tiano is a great dentist, but be very certain what your insurance covers and go over every single item on your expected benefits list BEFORE you have them do anything.
