Below is a copy of the complaint I sent to the Better Business Bureau. I get my teeth cleaned 3-4 times a year to prevent any increase in my periodontal disease. On August 16, 2011 when I went in for my scheduled cleaning they has a new dental hygienist. I also had bite wing x-rays done at that time (annual maintenance procedure). I was told by the Dentist, Dr. Remal Patel that I had decay on a crown and needed the crown to be rebuilt. I said wanted to wait as I had planned to purchase a more comprehensive dental plan as my husband also needed dental work. Dr. Patel expressed concern because he said I should not wait since the decay would continue. Friday November 18th, 2011 I returned for another cleaning and to get an estimate for my crown replacement with my new dental insurance which was $1,641.00 without insurance and $685.00 with insurance. Since I was not happy with the new hygienist I decided to find another dentist. I saw Dr. Abramov in Lutz, Florida. As I was a new patient I had to have a comprehensive oral evaluation with full mouth x-rays plus bite wings. Dr. Abramov said I only needed to schedule a cleaning. I showed him my estimate from Dr. Remal. Dr. Abramov again stated that I did not need any dental work just a cleaning. I suggest that you change your rating for this Dentist. very disappointed with this office. Great Expressions gets terrible reviews all over FL. I can only speak for this office.... I had an appointment scheduled at 4. I called and asked for a cleaning, they told me I couldnt do a cleaning until I had an exam with the dentist. I went in and waited 45 min to be seen. As I waited in the waiting room I every single patient come out and "owe money" even though they all handed in an insurance card. I thought that was strange. Then I went in and though I am only 29 years old and have had excellent dental history was told I had all kids of problems and needed them fixed. In addition they told me I needed a deep cleaning which was not covered by my insurance. All in all, after my insurance was billed I was going to owe $400. Its interesting because every patient that went to pay while I waited also had a balance in such a high number...one man was even told he owed $700 after his insurance payed the rest. If you go here, do not be surprised to find you we a huge bill even if you have insurance. They are out to get your money. In all my life I had never visited a dentist that demanded so much out of pockets costs for a healthy 29 year old with zero previous dental problems. I will be filling a report with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and I hope more unhappy customers do too so this company stops abusing peoples pockets.

I Went there 1 year ago just for an infection and the dentist said you will need a cleaning the next level from reg cleaning. I unfortuantly could not have it done due to taking off of work since there hours are horrbile and have to take a whole day off just to go. Anyway I just went yesterday and they said I have gum disease and need a deep cleaning and its going to be over $400.00. They had no compassion and were very rude to me!!! The doctor was about 25 years old with her hair tied up in a not bun like she just got out of bed! The person that did my xays had to keep doing each tooth over, couldnt even do that right! So I told them I want my xrays and going to another doc, well its gonna cost 25.00 for MY xrays that I already paid for!! Really!??? And then it takes 48 hours for them to release them to me, just another way for these people to make money. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE-THEY ARE JUST MONEY HUNGRY! They have caused me so much stress thinking I had gum disease, so I am going to coastal dental where my mom goes, wish me luck!!

I love this dental office! The office staff is polite. In addition its easy to make appointments and they show they care by keeping to the schedule as closely as possible. As far as the care I have received, I just got a filling and it was the most pain-free experience I have EVER had. The injection for numbing is usually terrible and I barely felt this one. Finally, the dentist had thought I needed two fillings but when she looked closer I only needed one. She honestly only did one filling and only charged me for one. I truly appreciate her integrity. Highly recommend Great Expressions Dental in Land O Lakes!!!

These people are absolutely incompetent. They tried forcing me to pay out of pocket for procedures that are clearly covered by my insurance. They also tried pressuring my wife to pay for a procedure out of pocket that would be scheduled more than 6 months later. After talking to my insurance company they advised finding a different company, Great Expressions refused to refund $200 that was charged to my card as a "deposit" for a procedure 6 months out. This procedure should have cost $0 according to my insurance company. Actively disputing this charge and strongly recommend looking elsewhere!

This is the worst dental practice I have ever been to. These people are extremely unprofessional , rude and act as if they are doing you a favor by treating you. I was with the same dentist for 12 years and unfortunately my insurance changed and they were not on the plan. I will be paying cash to see my dentist before going back to this practice! I was also there for 4 hours and got NOTHING resolved. They recommended a "deep cleaning" at the cost of 366.00 I said I didnt want it and just wanted my regular cleaning.....they refused to TREAT ME!!!!!!!!!!! Unreal.

Should have listened to the other reviewers - these people are absolute scumbags. They diagnosed me as requiring a deep cleaning which requires $300+ dollars out of pocket expense. When I told them I only wanted the regular cleaning paid by my insurance they refused to do it, saying that once Ive been diagnosed as requiring a deep cleaning they can no longer do the other kind. HOW CONVENIENT! They also tried to up-sell me on a "special" x-ray series for an additional cost not covered by my insurance. These people are the absolute worst Ive ever had to deal with.

The staff is friendly, and I have anxiety going to the dentist, they did their best to quiet my fears by explaining everything, I would recommend them to everyone. They have given me an estimate every time before a procedure so I know exactly what to expect. I have a been a few times over the past few months and will be going out of my way to stay with them even though they will no longer be convenient drive but just because I like it there and do not want to change to get somewhere I dont feel comfortable.

I was referred to this office for a wisdom teeth consult. There were 10-12 people in the waiting area when I arrived. Everyone from the oral surgeon to his assistant were rushing, never asked me if I had any questions, and the office chair had hair from the last patient who sat there. I will NEVER return to this place. I immediately cancelled my surgery because if they are rushing to do an exam and x-rays they may rush during my surgery. Such a money hungry place and I rather spend my $1500 elsewhere.
